Schweitzer wishes Palin showed up to NGA meeting

Gov. Schweitzer discussed his views of the stimulus and Sarah Palin's absence from the NGA this weekend.

(CNN) – Many of the nation’s governors descended on Washington for the National Governors’ Association meeting this weekend, but a famous face was absent: Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who co-chairs the NGA's Natural Resources Committee with Palin, told CNN he wishes she was there.

"Fewer TV cameras will be there and I have to stay all the way to the end to report, so I wish she was here," Schweitzer joked on CNN's State of the Union.

But the Montana Democrat did not fault his colleague from Alaska for missing the NGA's winter meeting.

"Governors have to balance their job," he said. "These meetings are important, but in some ways, we come here and restate the obvious."

While Palin chose to skip the meeting this year, her appearance at it one year ago may have been pivotal to her future: it was when she first met Arizona Sen. John McCain.

To Pierre Podo: Palin can address "Mr. President" in the same manner that Hillary Clinton addresses her boss – after telling the nation he was too inexperienced, didn't know what he was doing, etc. . . . . for his current job.

Sarah will be in our future, long after Obama has gone home to write his memoirs. Learn to love her.

The guy jokes around about Palin not being there, and the Headline reads "Ticker: Palin's no-show ruffles feathers?" Don't judge a book by it's cover, and don't judge a new's article by it's headline.
Again I say blog news has taken over our media.

I dont know why she didnt go, but I agree, she would have been slapped either way. Just like the loons on the right bash Obama for doing the EXACT same things that EVERY President has done, palin gets bashed by the loons on the left for anything she does. I think the real deal here is that people are just SICK of palin showing up in the news every day for doing NOTHING. I think she is also tired of of the beatings too...Shes looking to revamp who she is,and the only way to do it is stay in Alaska for a while and save whats left of her reputation there, she took a hit there.

I am begining to believe that Sarah Palin finally understood the joke...and it turned out to be her. She is very articulate, but also very naive when it comes to American politics. A bit of time off, will give her time to bone up on what people expect in the bigtime. She will do well to contiune to focus on Alaska and bid her time.

Palin simply is trying to maintain an identity as a "Washington Outsider" which she will use on her now all to obvious future plans to run for the presidency. By not appearing at the meeting she can say in four years "I wanted nothing to do with the stimulus bill". She is just playing games and I hope that the country sees through this and gets wise.

Let Palin Alone, She still afraid of meeting the Terrorist in Washington .

Where have you been? She missed some Republican event so that she could meet the President at the Alfalfa dinner recently. I believe her words were" How many chances will I have to meet the President?".
    Please try to keep up...........
