Schweitzer wishes Palin showed up to NGA meeting

CNN

Gov. Schweitzer discussed his views of the stimulus and Sarah Palin's absence from the NGA this weekend.

(CNN) – Many of the nation’s governors descended on Washington for the National Governors’ Association meeting this weekend, but a famous face was absent: Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who co-chairs the NGA's Natural Resources Committee with Palin, told CNN he wishes she was there.

"Fewer TV cameras will be there and I have to stay all the way to the end to report, so I wish she was here," Schweitzer joked on CNN's State of the Union.

But the Montana Democrat did not fault his colleague from Alaska for missing the NGA's winter meeting.

"Governors have to balance their job," he said. "These meetings are important, but in some ways, we come here and restate the obvious."

While Palin chose to skip the meeting this year, her appearance at it one year ago may have been pivotal to her future: it was when she first met Arizona Sen. John McCain.

How can anyone complain about Sarah Palin staying home? She's probably readin' her papers, all of 'em. Sarah staying out of sight and out of mind is like a toothache going away

Is this a loss? She says nothing of any importance anyway. We are so, so lucky she is not representing the US in its current state of misery...thank you, Bushie.

She likely knows she is the 'laughing stock' of the nation & couldn't face it so she decided to stay home. If she runs for Gov. again, I am sure the people will 'boot' her our!!!!

Vintage Sarah. A politician who whimpers and whines when her politics or abilities are challenged. As long as she can hide behind her cavalcade of handlers, she feels impervious to attack. Put her in a room full of Democrats OR Republicans, and she realizes that she is simply an incompetent, right-wing media creation who pales in comparison to everyone else in the room.

ALL the governors have governing to do back home, not just poor little Sarah. She's a coward and a charlatan. I think the GOP governors are well aware of that, too – they just wish some of those Sarah-loving cameras would give this event some publicity...since they are largely irrelevant at the moment.

So if Governor Palin is the publicity hound that the media has tried so hard to SELL her as, why is she home doing her job instead of basking in the media spot light in D.C.? Maybe its because she is GENUINE and REAL–traits which the media does not understand or appreciate. Whenever the media finds politicians that are NOT corrupt and phony, it feels obliged to destroy them…..and their families.

She is probably doing the job she was elected for in her state, which is governing, something that empty-headed, empty-suit Obama is incapable of doing without someone thinking for him and writing the speeches for him to read off of a teleprompter. Can someone tell me how spending millions of taxpayer dollars to fly to Denver, to grandstand the signing of the largest pork spending bill in the history of the U.S., stimulates the economy? The media and Democrats played the race card to get one of the most incompetent Democrats elected President, now the country will suffer for generations to come because the guilt factor was played out and a total sham is now POTUS.

Sarah Palin was not busy governing at the weekend. She was grandstanding in Bush Alaska with the Billy Graham machine. SarahPAC comes first; she's over being governor.

I think the Repubs are trying to sweep her under the rug. She had her face in the camera and was babbling on TV every chance she got, before. What changed? Not her narcissistic personality. Not her stupidity. Then, what?

The Repubs told her to get lost, that's what! She's old news. She's a constant reminder of why they lost.

They're trying to change their image. Sarah – a dim-witted, bible thumping, hate-filled, white woman – ain't what they want (at least in public) anymore.

They're trying to gain wider appeal, and they can't do it with her. She'd never give up the spotlight voluntarily – the big wigs told her to (in Steele's words....) "stuff it ".

Please! NO MORE looking backward and back-stabbling. NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL GOOD PEOPLE TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY!

Did the organisers of the convention refuse to offer her (1) a designer wardrobe (2) a private plane to fly her and First Dude, and family to the convention (3) a hefty pay packet (4) media coverage for her and her alone (5) unlimited ROGUE speech and behaviour ?

Sarah Palin all but seized being a governor!
She could not care less what happens in Alaska. Not after she has seen life of real power and wealth hanging around with McCain and etc.
Palin is busy trying to figured out how to get GOP behind her so she could get back to shopping at Neiman Marcus.
