Schweitzer wishes Palin showed up to NGA meeting

Gov. Schweitzer discussed his views of the stimulus and Sarah Palin's absence from the NGA this weekend.

(CNN) – Many of the nation’s governors descended on Washington for the National Governors’ Association meeting this weekend, but a famous face was absent: Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who co-chairs the NGA's Natural Resources Committee with Palin, told CNN he wishes she was there.

"Fewer TV cameras will be there and I have to stay all the way to the end to report, so I wish she was here," Schweitzer joked on CNN's State of the Union.

But the Montana Democrat did not fault his colleague from Alaska for missing the NGA's winter meeting.

"Governors have to balance their job," he said. "These meetings are important, but in some ways, we come here and restate the obvious."

While Palin chose to skip the meeting this year, her appearance at it one year ago may have been pivotal to her future: it was when she first met Arizona Sen. John McCain.

Palin failed to show because she would have been asked questions to which she has no answers- just like during the campaign!!!

    Howdy CNN,

How about that "She didn't show up because...." and his post, eh? You are very quickly sacrificing any slight shred of credibility, or even competence (witness Ali Velshi and Suze Orman on the economy). Yikes, and to think you're doing it on taxpayers money, too.

We need her to show up as often as possible to remind the Republicans how a rising star can fall just as fast and of the whopping which they got, because if they do not rise up and fly straight the people will make the next meeting at the woodshed even more severe.

Wow. So many Chauvinists! It's amazing we aren't expected to be barefoot & pregnant, cooking your meals and cleaning the s**t from your underwear. In case you haven't heard – women have been liberated & can now hold office, a job & care for their family.

Maybe she had better things to do, like run a state instead of just taking another trip to the sunshine state.

Personally, I hope she shows up all the other politicians & proves what a good job she is, has, and will do, for her state!

    Yep! YOU BETCHA!!!

It is stupid to think that Gov Palin will shy away from the media. Not when she headed straight for the group of journalist during her campaign trail only forced the media to step back after she gave them more than what they wanted..hehehe. Journalism is not new to her.

The thing that gets me is how the press thought she spent too
much money on a wardrobe. How much money do the big shot
politicians, financial CEO's and bankers spend on SUITS? And how much money does Clinton
and Mrs. Obama spend on their outfits. I hear Mrs. Obama has gone
to buying outfits "off the rack" to buying from some big deal designer. I am sure Clinton does too. When are you all going to wake up to the fact
that we are all being taken down a narrow road..... We will never
be the same country again. Wake up. Why are we even still bashing
    S. Palin. Besides I like her...shes got guts which you don't have.

The disgusting, personal posts about Sarah Palin only tells the real truth about how women are still viewed in this country. People talking about he being on the rag need to be dragged out the back door and shot. I am sure Palin could handle that one. I am not a fan of her but I am sick of seeing comments about woman that would never in a million years be said about male politicians. WOMEN deserve respect too, if you don't like her politics fine, say so and stay on point with that!

MOONBEAM- Get you head out of the clouds take your ignorant liberal butt back to school and learn the meaning of words.
But if most of you liberal welfare loving folks went to school and had a job, you would know the difference.

All you rethugs better be on the look out! Obama is getting detention camps ready in FL, NC, and Iowa. That is where you are going to be in 2012. I don't know if we can get Palin in there or not since she's a governor. And don't try to act all loyal to Obama all the sudden, we know who you are!!!

  15. Ruth -Az amazed of our choices

I am always amazed at the choice we have to make, on people we don't like. It may be possible that Obama won because of McCain' s choice to make Palin his partner.
The fact that the republicans hang on to ideas in an economy like this blows my mind. I beleive there a lot of people out the praying their god and hoping someone can get us out of this mess.
I am floored about bailing out banks. Let the big banks that contruited to this mess fall. Save Apple pie, Baseball and the AMERICAN car companies.
Let humble men and women became part of fixing the exonomy.

Are we not all sovereign States?

I applaud Sara for not showing. Why should she show if she can not develope an enegy plan for America if she can not even open up the land she is governing.

I should say I would not show either if the feds tried to tell me the energey in my State will not be tapped because they do not want energy independence, they want us all to be dependent on them.
    Not going to happen.

Alaska can do better with it's resources independently then the feds preventing us from even lifting a derrick.

    Alaska is a sovereign State.

I love how the tolerant left is always name calling. I think actions speak lowder then words . This package is suppose to stimulate the economy ( buisness, jobs and spending) Then the next words out of your boy's mouth is taxing the rich and buisnesses to cut his deficit ?????????? Some lib needs to explain this to me or is it Bambi's trickle up theory of economics .

    Some lib please explain ?

It is truly amazing how obsessed CNN and the Left are with Sarah Palin. She has been in the headlines/ticker multiple times EVERY week since Obams (The One) was elected. It's really pretty sad that CNN feels that it has to dedicate this much time and effort to trying to find negative articles about Gov. Palin. Is the Left that scared of her....... amazing.

Why should we "left wing nuts" be afraid of Palin? She tanked every interview she was a part of,(Couric, etc). She was a right wing trick to attract votes, and that's it. If she had the smartest republicans coaching her about international affairs, economics, and what the Bush Doctrine was coaching her right up until 2010, she still wouldn't have the brains to get a pittance of the votes that idiot McCain got. When will you Republican's learn America is too smart for your ridiculous tricks of the past? I think you all need to learn to be honest to yourselves before you can be honest to the rest of America. You guys burned and lost. Get over it, and help heal America already. Be part of the solution, instead of the whole friggin' problem.

I should also ask why did she have to show anyway? Alaska is one of the States that were not close to filing banruptcy. We do not need to show up for a hand out or receive money from the feds with strings attached.

How much is your freedom worth?
