WASHINGTON (CNN) - Embattled Sen. Roland Burris lost the counsel of another adviser Monday, as Illinois lawmakers continued to call on him to resign his seat.
Bud Jackson, who helped Burris in his bid to replace President Obama in the Senate, sent a mass email distancing himself from Burris and describing the senator's "public relations efforts" as "less than stellar."
"Turns out that, because my business is political communication, I need to let folks know that I have not been involved in the decisions that have led to the public relations fiasco over the past week," Jackson wrote. "In fact, I actively counseled his team to take very different actions, to no avail."
But Jackson did note that he continues to back Burris even as others are calling on him to step down.
"I know that he has done nothing inappropriate despite the impression that has been left," Jackson wrote.
Burris is under fire for failing to detail his contacts with associates of now-impeached Gov. Rod Blagojevich. The senator's chief of staff and a spokesman have quit.ris

What' next for Burris is hardly anybody's guess. Infact, unless a miracle happens, Burris is headin' rapidly towards lost or spent force status.
If as Jackson says Roland did nothing wrong then I hope he does not bend to the presure. However, if he did I hope he pulls himself out of the office.

Sen. Burris should have told all that he knows. He should have know that all of this would come out. If he did any fund-raising for the Governor then it would have been understandable if there was no contact with the Governor about the sale of the seat. But he wasn't forthcoming and now we got this whole mess. And it is a crying shame that after all that has been done over the last century concerning missatements and corruption that he didn't understand the nature of his testimony.

Burris did nothing wrong except take a job offer from an accused crook.He never paid anyone 1 cent for that offer or job.This is the best the republicans can throw at this.Illinos govt should vote for a special election and end this.It would be shorter than this Bull.

All he did was selectively forget about having spoken to Blago's brother. Of course he did nothing wrong! Any objective person knows that Burris needs to go, for himself and for the people of Illinois.
Resign Mr. Burris, simply resign. You have proven you are not trustworthy. Please resign.
He will play the race card over and over. Burris need to resign. He might get a plea agreement that he will not be arrested and tried if he will leave now. But that arrogant twit does not have the judgment to recognize that his behavior is disgusting.
Burris did contribute to Blagojevich's reelection fund. It was in the new reports last year. Now he admits he tried to twist arms for the governor but since he wasn't successful it doesn't count. Anyone who has raised a child has heard this hollow argument before.
We do not care about Burris at all. Get a life old man and let someone else do this job that you can not do. You are another case of Palin who needs to return to school and get educated on things you do not know. You are an embarrassment to the party let alone the state of Illinois. We all know you are guilty because you wanted this job to bad not to have made bad decisions to get it. I for one wish we could move on with this issue. Get out and know that you are not wanted for anything.
Right or wrong Burris was a fool to take the position from the beginning. He deserves to go down with the ship.
Again we are assuming Senator Burris to be guilty. How about stepping back and giving the man a chance to prove himself. As others have said, if he is guilty it will come out, if he is innocent than he is right where he should be.
Burris is a disgrace and should this idiot retrieve from his senate seat as soon as possible.
But don't anybody think this circus is going to touch the integrity of the present President of the US.
