Romney’s PAC writes checks to 11 of the 'Undaunted Dozen'

Mitt Romney's PAC announced Monday that it is donating money to nearly all of a group of House Republicans who are being targeted by a Democratic campaign because of their opposition to the stimulus bill.

Mitt Romney's PAC announced Monday that it is donating money to nearly all of a group of House Republicans who are being targeted by a Democratic campaign because of their opposition to the stimulus bill.

(CNN) – Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is lending a financial hand to a group of House Republicans who have become targets of a new Democratic campaign over their opposition to the $787 billion stimulus bill.

In recorded telephone messages, text messages, and e-mails set to be sent out this week, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee plans to highlight the opposition of 12 House Republicans to stimulus package.

“What Republicans wanted was a bill to strengthen the economy,” Romney said in a statement announcing the $1000 donations by his Free and Strong America PAC. “What the Democrats passed was a bill to stimulate government. We are committed to helping these courageous Republicans defend their position and fend off political attacks.”

The “Undaunted Dozen,” as Romney calls them, “[stood] up for fiscal responsibility and [said] no to spending abuse.”

Although the former GOP presidential hopeful referred to the dozen members targeted by the DCCC, Rep. Adam Putnam of Florida was not sent a donation because he has announced that he is not seeking re-election in 2010, according to the PAC’s statement.

Romney is just a stuffed shirt with a mouth

Even less useful than most Republicans ... if that's possible

oh...looks like the DCCC is giving the GOP a taste of its own bitter games. I hope we get a lot harder on them. Its about time that party was taken out into the woods and slapped around. The bloodbath of november 2008 was just the beginning

    a southern bell,

You apparently dont pay taxes otherwise you would not be so hot

    to see additional spending.

That is okay my family will pay our bills, our taxes, and make sure you continue to be able to use the computer at the library while you waste away your day.

    Get a JOB and contribute.

Barack spent 90 Million Dollars on his Inauguration.

He raised 750 MILLION on his campaign.

The guy spent your money and his. Stop complaining. You knew what you were in for when this guy got elected. Barack loves to spend other peoples money.

Clinton spent 30 million on his inauguration. Bush spent 40. BARACK 90. In the middle of a financial crisis. Like he didnt know the economy was in the dumps when he ran. The guy is a joke. I was wishing him well, up to the point he keeps spending and wants to nationalize banks. He wants to be and is a Benelovent Dictator.

  7. Gerry in Va. for Obama.

Most of the 12 have been in office so long they need to be put out anyway. When will the public start demanding term limits on the House and Senate so the old geezers don't die setting in their chamber chairs???

Get Educated. Mitt Romney and George Bush are opposites.

They are nothing alike and dont believe in the same things.

MITT is financially conservative and very sound. He is socially conservative as well. He is against illegal immigration.

Bush in fact was very moderate and close to being a liberal on spending and the immigration issues. He was really only conservative on the war.

Think before you write something. It makes you look ignorant.

After the last eight years, the GOP is hardly credible with "fiscal responsibility," wasting trillions on an unnecessary diversion in Iraq while giving tax breaks to the wealthiest incomes in the middle of a war. No wonder Romney seems to have more money to spare. Come on.

At least this spending is meant to stimulate/save our country's economy this time.

First I dont believe you. That is a lie.

Second If you are so concerned about the 5 Trillion that George Bush left us in 8 TOTAL years...

WHY are you so eager to support Barrack who has listed Deficits of 1.6 Trillion for 2009, 1.3 Trillion 2010. 1.3 Trillion for 2011, and 550 billion for 2012. Grand total 4.6 Trillion in (4 count them 4 ) years.

And you GOPers blabber about Obama doing things just for spotlight and political showmanship? Please. The Stormin' Mormon is the peacock of political mating dancers.

For the ELEPHANTS to have any credibility in boycotting Obama's policies or actions, they will FIRST need to pay back the 5 trillion dollars left by giving W a blank check. Meanwhile, elephants still have big butts and they still use their trunks to choke or suffocate you. So, we just got rid of Darth Vader and the Sith. Let's not go back there. Remember, even in the Bible, in difficult times, Joseph (Genesis) had to help save the millions of hungry citizens and foreigners. I dont know about you, but I'm bagging up those grains. ,....

MItt and fellow republicans: The stimulus package is for your constituents not for you. Get that through your thick heads. The only way that the republicans would have thought this was for them is if they had gotten more tax cuts such as the ones given to them by Bush. We see how much that stimulated the economy. Right through the floor. Idiots.

How are we ever going to all become good communists if we don't make the few remaining Republicans shut up? Is it time to learn Chinese yet?

According to Republicans, monies for taxe cuts to the wealthiest, the avoidable war and defense (that goes to defense contractors not the soldiers) are OK, but not for the American people that do the labor and pay the taxes. SHAMEFUL – is the word!

DNC thugs vs. RNC thugs. RNC lied, DNC lied, Bush lied, Obama lied.

Time to start thinking third party locally, if you are tired of the same old politics.

RJ, wishful thinking. By 2010 the republicans will have dug such a whole they won't see light for 20 years especially if they keep up their rhetoric, anger, divisiveness and hatred. It's time to get over your loss in November and grow up and act like responsible citizens, not a bunch of disgruntled whiners.

I hope Mitt Romney runs for President in 2012. He is so smart and knows alot about the economy. It's too bad John McCain did not pick Mitt as his running mate. I think the election may have turned out differently.

The RICH dont make you poor.

Your lack of work ethic, lack of knowledge, lack of opportunity, lack of perceverence, lack of skill, or maybe even your lack of luck causes your life outcome.

Dont blame some guy because his family had money and he made more money.

People have an opportunity in America to get off their butts and make themselves a success. But they cant do that wilthout sacrifice. They have to live a good clean life and work hard to get there best case scenario.

The Mental with the Octuplets had as much an opportunity as anyone to be successfull in this country. But instead she chose to be crazy, have 14 kids, and DRAIN the US welfare system for everything it is worth. SHE IS A LOSER AND A Pariah on AMERICA.

Stop whining that your life is so so bad and try to pick yourself up and move forward. If you made bad choices in your life than that is your own fault and others should not have to pay for it.
