Durbin wants Burris to resign.

(CNN) - Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said Tuesday he suggested to fellow Illinois Sen. Roland Burris that he resign his seat.

“I believe with what he faces, if I was in that position, I would resign,” Durbin said.

Durbin said Burris indicated he will not step down.

Durbin also said he would not support Burris if he runs for the seat in 2010.

UPDATE: When asked if Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid agrees with Durbin, Reid spokesman Jim Manley responded: "That's up to Senator Burris to decide."

When I'm done destroying Perry like a little school girl he is in the GOP primary in 2010, I'll go after Obama in 2012 for the Presidency myself.

Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Clyburn and the rest of the Black race card players will be up in arms about someone suggesting that Mr. Burris resign. It's racists that are calling for his resignation; a move by "The Man". There'll be riots in the streets of Chicago! How can the Whites that have been depressing the poor Blacks for so long be asking for such a thing??

Spirit of America, it doesn't matter whether you're a Republican or Democrat, but let's get things done for the good of the American people.

I plan on exposing Obama for the coward he is in 2012, maybe when Burris and Blagojevich spill the beans on the Messiah.

Hey Deborah,if there was or is any dirt worth reporting concerning President Obama, the right-wing Kooks on Fox woulds have already been reporting it. Not only that, the right-wing fools in this country tried to do everything possible to ruin him during the Presidential campaign and couldn't. Everything imaginable was brought up and lies were told by the millions and it still didn't work. Oh well, how does one reason with a party that actually was serious about a McCain/Palin ticket? That alone speaks volumes about the IQ level of the entire Repub party.

Just let him do his job. Unless you have proof that he did something wrong then shut up. Americans are getting tired of the kindergarden crap that goes on in Washington.

I think that Dick Durbin should lay off the peanut butter. If Burris is forced to leave he should take Chris "Mr. Mortgage" Dodd along with him.

FDR was a loser. He unleashed the scourge of social security, government handouts, and "entitlements" that has virtually bankrupt this country and created a generation of welfare saps. If truth be told, he was the absolute worst president, hands down!

Well Santa Maria, FDR also gave us insured bank deposits–the FDIC in 1933. So before bashing FDR you ought to look at your bank account. The fact you have money in there is because your deposits were insured. You can thank President Roosevelt for that.

I CAN'T AGREE MORE WITH " A AMERICAN", Durbin has done nothing for the State of Illinois, but fill his pockets with tax money from the the tax payers. We need him to resign, also we need term limits and mandatory drug testing on all the members of the House and Senate. They have enslaved our children and grandchildren to a Socialist Government.

Steve, support my reelection for a 3rd full term in the Texas Governor's Mansion in 2010 against the fake conservative KBH in the GOP primary, we need your support much needed and call her out on her Senate voting record, especially abortion.

Give credit to FDR for creating the FDIC, but that act is not enough to outweigh the damage to our society he created with all of his social engineering entitlement programs.
He set the precedent that the govt can dole out success, one handout at a time. No need to earn it, just sit back and collect your welfare.

He does not have it within himself to do the right thing, because if he did he would not have accepted the nomination from the governor who had
seriously damaged his reputation and right to occupy the office of governor. He should resign and walk away with what little honor he has left.
