Look, I can understand how "democrats" get elected in America... we are a big tent nation and half the country are Dems... I get it.

What I can't fathom is the 12% liberal kook fringe that thinks this is a nation just dying to become Cuba 2.0.

Folks, Americans will elect Dems... they won't elect ravenous, splittle-flying liberal kook moonbats (except of course for constituents in Dennis Kucinich's district).

Dems, this is a big mistake. If you want to keep your Congressional majorities, don't nominate kooks.

We are in danger of failing as a nation of 50 states. I think there are too many pressures (social, politcal, economic, etc.) for the US to survie as it is currently organized. Maybe the time has come to agree to disagree and peacefully separate into smaller, but more harmonious nations that share common ideals.

The US cannot be al things to all people, it never could. Pretending that it will someday is a waste of time. We are divided as a nation and no amount of spending or social engineering will change that.

It is the poor people that make the rich richer. Get a grip on your pockets and don't be so gullable buying everything they want you to buy. Save your money like they do. The rich is for their own kind and will tell you anything. Be a leader not a follower.

Watch out for liberal hate groups...

Hate groups need to be prosecuted and punished to the fullest. They are a disgrace to society. Guess they are just not educated. They are the biggest cowards going. They must disguise themselves to say what they say and do. Looks like they are the ones afraid of being caught.

If you look at the groups that are mentioned in the atricle they are Democratic and liberal groups. So its not the Republcans or the KKK that are doing this its the Democratic Party. As the article says libera Democrats are going to try and oust moderate and conservative Democrats out of Congress. Learn to read what the article says instead of always blaming the Republicans

Enough is enough. Just get the show on the road to recovery. We are all tired of hearing what is going to be done. Just do it. This country cannot survive a depression in todays society. It is quite different from the great depression days. The people will suffer much more today. We need leaders that will do what they say and not just a bunch of words to please the ear of all that are listening and really care. People just need to be more frugile and stop spending their money on things that want rather that surviving necessaties. Spending out of control is what the financial problems are over. Then they go and charge because they have no money, well, how are they going to pay for that if they don't have the cash to buy.

Obama does not have a liberal mandate. . .if these groups were smart, they'd leave him alone and let him forge a path of bipartisanship.

There is no difference between this PAC and the right-wing extremists who targeted moderate republicans just a few years ago. Obama's mandate came from the middle, as in politically moderate members of both parties. Liberal extremism is no better than conservative extremism. Hopefully Obama can rein in these crazies.

I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SAY THAT BY THE TIME WE GET TO WORK ON THE WEST COAST THE COMMENTS ARE CLOSED FOR JUST ABOUT EVERY ARTICLE. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I THINK THEY SHOULD STAY OPEN LONGER TO ACCOMMODATE US.

It will take some time (more than 1 month) to undo the damage of the previous administration, to alter the status quo, and right the proverbial ship. However, steps in the right direction have been made.

Honestly, can you imagine Palin up there this past tuesday night speaking to the congress/nation; dealing with these problems and working on solutions to these most serious issues....Not a Chance.

I am a moderate. I voted moderate. Barack Obama ran under a "moderate" logo.

All politicians are crazed with power. I don't vote for parties, I vote for people. Barack Obama seems like a honest guy who will do what it takes to help us.

The next step would be to address the remaining legislators that may not be serving the public properly. Byrd & Rangel come to mind. It ensures we have a government working for the people, not corporate interests.

I take exception to the comments that there is no such thing as a moderate Democrat. I've been one all of my adult life, and I'm 58. That means I support civil rights issues, and believe in a lot of the platform of the Democratic party, but am fiscally a conservative. I don't always think that throwing money at a problem will fix it.

This is actually a case of the old maxim of an animal eating it's own young. It is a bad tendency BOTH parties have when they are in power...marginalizing those that are moderates and who are willing to compromise and come to a concensus, and heading to an extreme view. The right does it, and so does the left. There are moderates in both parties, but they get cannablized by their own party. It's unfortunate, because actually they represent us better than those on either end of the political spectrum.

All I can say is that power is blinding. No one is humble anymore. I think only Obama is acting humbly even though he won with a huge majority in electoral votes (not like Bush who said he has political capital after his win in 2004). If there are conservative Democrats who refuse to support the vision of the Party, they can be replaced with true Democrats, for the "conservative" Democrats are DINOs (Democrats in Name Only).

America must move to the Left. It is our duty to forge forth a worldwide globalist "leftist" order. We shall be the beacon of light which shines in a world of corruption and evil.

We need a tug from the left to get us back to a reasonable center, not the center-right middle where David Broder loves Joe Lieberman and John McCain and the result is thoroughly Republican.

I love that nobody can get elected unless they are extreme one way or the other nowadays. I tend to lean right on economic issues and slightly left on social issues. But because I am a normal person who actually has thoughts and ideals I have no one to represent me because Im not pure right or left. Imagine if we actually started to elect average joes (which is what this country was founded on) and we had good debates in which people were allowed to present their case and, heaven forbid, even change their minds.

Jindal was a joke Tuesday night. He invoked the disaster of Bush/Cheney's Republican administrations mismanagement during and after katrina as a way forward. Democrats love a "maverick" Republican, but when their own members actually think for themselves, they are labeled 'traitors' and run out of town.

How will taxing business more than we are now help to create these free market jobs? Remember, "business" includes those eveil people who have a family income of $250,000+ who can create jobs if it is worth their investment. If you reduce the return on money used to create business and jobs to a paltry 20 to 25%, guess what–no more job creation. The ONLY alternative to free enterprise as the engine of national wealth is that the federal government take over all business. Is that what you want? Good luck with that. Guess what happens to the personal liberties you think are so endangered now? Just look at Russia, China, Venezuala, Cuba, etc. This is the end of the road for the type of behavior you are advocating.

Well liberals need to back off a bit because this is not just their country. I am an in the middle Dem. I am a good blogger. I wish I got paid for it. I have heard some of my bloggs come out in the words of different Politian’s speeches during this last heck of an election; including the President’s inaugural speech. Last night, I had a dream that Hillary was sitting in school as a child and a rusty nail fell out of the ceiling onto her head. From that day forward she decided to fix the education system and healthcare system in this country. So she has become a legend in history. What it took for here to get there, that is God’s judgment. The truth is: that all this nation, and really the world needs to be fixed is very simple. It is not up to God to fix things or keep us happy, that is up to us. It is Gods job to keep his promise and he does that pretty well from my view point. My point is that if everyone was well educated and healthy then the economy would be thriving. People would be smart enough to put their differences aside, and American’s would understand how to live together- A better nation-One Nation Under God-rather if you believe it or not, if you are a conservative or a liberal. Everyone is entitled to being free and equal in this Great Nation. It does not matter who you are, where you are from, and what you believe. We are all American’s and that is what makes us better people. United Healthcare is a must.

The liberal Democrats should attempt to get it through their heads that the only reason Obama is in office is because of conservative Democrats, and conservative Independants and republicans who became disgusted with the Bush regime and the religious right. As a moderate Democrat I feel that our strength and the quality that most separated us from the current trend in the Republican party is our diversity. As a member of Democracy for America, I thank CNN and Mark Preston for posting this article. It's long past time for right-wing and so-called "moderate" Democrats to get with the program and recognize what the American people said so loudly and decisively last November: this country needs fundamental change, and standing with giant corporations, polluters and companies that ship jobs overseas is no longer acceptable. President Obama is trying to make the government once again be of, by and for the people, and Democrats who stand in the way are just as bad as Republicans who stand in the way. (Actually, they're worse, because they should know better.) Let them all start packing their bags.
