(CNN) - More than a dozen pieces of jewelry were stolen from former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s Deer Valley, Utah home last week, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.

Park City police told the paper that the thief was likely someone who had access to the house. There was no sign of forced entry.

The $5 million home is currently up for sale, along with another Romney residence in Massachusetts.

The former Massachusetts governor will address activists at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington Friday, as he aims for his third win in the annual gathering’s presidential preference straw poll.

Because he went to college got his degree work hard to make his money the people who are commenting here says in others to bad you deserve it. That is wrong with this country the liberals have no laws to go by whatever they want to do they can they don't have to follow rules of the land. But it is ok for Obama to live in a million dollar home The Clintions made over $100 million last year but no one is saying anything about them. No one is complaining about the sports stars make hundred of millions to show off it all about the republicans. And Bush adminstration did try for 3 years to get laws on the financial matters but guess who stop them Sen Dodd and barney frank (wonder why).

    Fellow liberals, DON'T BE JERKS.

This guy got robbed, he's a Republican, but let's not lose the good of intellect by saying that he deserved it because of his political persuasion. How would you feel if it happened to you?

This is a serious moment of shadenfreude for some of us, but let's not emulate the worst traits of right wingers.

Democrats get lower and lower. They never wanted to work hard and now they are just stealing. So much for the hard working American that lost 10% in the stock market this month because of the lack of faith in Obama. This guy is killing this country.

    @ EAS

why are libs like you so envious and jealous of success?

Could it be that you know you are not capable of success, so envy is all you have?

Just because he was successful in life, does not mean it is OK to steal from him. Here is who should be chosen to fix our economy. Not the one that was chosen.

Well, so crime happens in his hood also. I can't tell you how much sleep I'll lose over Romney being robbed. Maybe just maybe the robber knows the jewelry will never be missed.

    TO EAS, you said:

Just to put the facts out there …

Romney was born in Detroit, Michigan, and is the son of former Michigan Governor, American Motors chairman and 1968 presidential candidate George W. Romney.

Yes, he had such a hard life, and worked for every penny.

Now, since we know that is not true, stick to the facts!

These are all great facts. I too know these facts. Sure Romney was born on easy street, but its not like he worked for Daddy all his life and eventually took over the family business. Again, romney took the time to get the best education possible and made his own name for himself through his business successes. you cannot deny that.

Absolutely no sense of right and wrong among most people here. Just the ability to "justify" a wrong.

Nothing compares to how the Republicans represent themselves in the documentary called "right america feeling wronged". Some of you have lost your mind.

At least Romney would have cared what his military families thought. 64 percent of the military families said no to media coverage of coffins and President Obama along with Gates do the complete opposite. Heah you care about our soldiers. Well Obama and Gates, as a veteran you make me want to vomit !! Thanks for the respect boys!!! This is what happens when you have politicians in that never served! I guess it only mattered to get you voted in.

    Dear "arithmetic is liberal",

Right on! We can fight his message yet still feel badly that he was robbed. I hate to say it but I think CNN is helping the right wing bait us into saying mean things. Otherwise why would we need to know?

    Thank you, "charlie in Maine".

No, CNN is NOT baiting lefties, and I think that EVERYONE is personally responsible for the things that they say. That would be like saying that the racoon story yesterday was meant to bait right wing racists.

I love how everybody that posts something negative is like "right on!". You peeps must be fans of the LA riots or something. Yeah, dude was born with money, but why does that give you a license to hate and not try to better yourselves so that maybe, on an off chance, your children could be born with money instead of being beholden to the government for cheese and so forth. Look. I did my turn in the Marine Corps, served in Iraq, worked my tail off in college, and now I am trying to get into a Ph. D. program so that my kids won't have to go quite as hard a road as I did, once they are born. Y so SRS libs?

Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy. Robbing from the rich is long overdue, and Romney can certainly afford it.

I can't believe some of you people will allow your own prejudice and hate to somehow justify or condone a crime. I don't know Romney, didn't support him in the campaign and probably wouldn't in the future. At the same time, some of the postings show a mean spirited, sick mindset. Grow up, people.
