Coulter jabs Obama at CPAC

Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.

Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.

(CNN) - Conservative political commentator Ann Coulter’s 15-minute address at CPAC played more like a stand-up comedy act than a political speech.

Coulter delivered line after line of jabs at President Obama, the Democratic Party and the media – each met with roaring laughter from the crowd.

The commentator – who is no stranger to controversy – first went after MSNBC, calling the hosts the “alternative prom crowd.”

Pointing to recent comparisons of Obama to Jesus and Abraham Lincoln, Coulter said the media has turned from being the people’s watchdog to the “government guard dog.”

“Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see Lincoln text messaging with Scarlet Johansson … and I forget, how many times did Lincoln vote present?” she said, to much applause.

Coulter likened members of the media and Democrats to parents “gushing” over a newborn baby.

“Having pulled off their rather mediocre 53 percent to 46 percent victory, liberals can’t stop boasting about their new baby boy,” she said.

She said it was interesting that Obama’s “adorers” in the media compare him to Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, because, “apparently they can’t think of a Democratic president worthy of being compared to.”

“If [Obama] thinks people wanted change in 2009, wait until 2012,” she said.

Coulter has a long history of making controversial comments about politicians. Following her appearance at the 2007 CPAC, multiple companies asked to pull their ads from her Web site after she used what some observers called an anti-gay slur to describe then-Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.

She was also at odds with Sen. John McCain during the campaign season, saying "John McCain is not only bad for Republicanism, which he definitely is - he is bad for the country."

WOW!!!! this puts the nail in the coffin for the RebubliCAN'T Party. And to think that they want someone to vote for them in 2012. The RepubliCAN'T Party use to be the whole enchilada, but with Sarah "sexy librarian" Palin, Ann "Rush Bimbo" Coulter, Michael "Shaft/Da@n right"Steele, and Joe the "super-plunger" plumber, they are down to the beans. Very sad!!!

This just shows that the Republican party is a joke ! ! ! They can have Ann and Rush and all their hate-mongering, people loathing rhetoric. What America needs is to have SMART people who aren't afraid to THINK making tough choices to move this country out of the cesspool the last administration left us in.

Wow. Democrats get all frustrated when they read and can't comprehend let alone listen to Ann Coulter criticise democrats in simple english and get it. If Democrats can't get their head around Pawlenty's "Sam Club workers" phrase of the day, then republicans can understand why the democrats need to lengthen school days. I disagree that the new generation of "Einsteins" will come from Africa as suggested by one of Canada's new institute for future innovators. Democratic party are like the runnaway train. Dangerous.

Ann Coulter is like Mahmoud Ahmadinajad: insane, inciting hate, and criminal. If you listen to her, you might as well listen to Ahmadinejad deny the holocaust.

I will not vote for your party until you come back to Earth, back to reality. You are run be extremists...they exist on both sides of the isle, she is an extremist. Pumps out a liberal hate journal she calls a "book" about every year or so. Pure propaganda artist. I am not even sure if she really beleives the things she says, but she knows people are dumb enough to buy it!

A 46 never married frigid hag with peroxide burn, is casting stones about the MSNBC crowd being the "alternative prom crowd"?

I can only imagine what she would have said about an unmarried 33 year old man with 12 male followers...

I don't understand why we can't try investing in some other areas in this country again, such as alterntive energy, education, infrastructure and other worthy projects of the like. I have a friend who was upset that we were talking about spending 140 million on the monitoring of active volcanic activity.

I responded with the point that we have been spending nearly 10 billion a month in Iraq for the last several years with only the possibility of a reduction in the next couple of years if things improve. 140 million for something that is going to protect many of our citizens who live near these objects doesn't sound too bad. 50 billion on Education! My god people wake up! Only 50 billion on education. Think what we could have accomplished if half the money from the war(which is easily going to hit a trillion dollars or more once we start pulling back).

Isn't it time to look out more for our own people for a while. Not that we have to stop having contact with the world but we need to invest in ourselvs for a while. What we have been doing isn't working. We need to try something different, and if that doesn't work we keep looking. That is the whole point, survival because time is going to march on and change is inevitable. That is the only immutable fact we now know for certain.

We will be spending the same amount on education for a country of 300+million people, as we were intially told the Iraq war would cost when it was finished.

Have we really been making very wise investments for our country recently?

You be the judge. It's really almost too staggering to think about, the problems we face.

I would still rather be here than in any other country on this planet.

Maybe with a little more compromise we can get some important things done for ourselves and maybe the world.

I'm hopeful but worried. Fear is nothing. We walk forward as we always have.

Peace and security be with you all.

Imagine my shock when I turned on my satellite radio (which is usually set to CNN) and heard the squealing voice of Rush Limbaugh. I couldn't erase CNN off of my radio presets quick enough. Limbaugh and Coulter are the true leaders of the hate-based, racist Christian Republican Church Party. They are living proof that this group is both socially and politically retarded.

Is it just me or are these Cpac meetings becoming more bizarre? Coulter, Limbaugh... these are people who are so hateful and mean-spirited. They are basically telling millions of Americans that they don't deserve the American dream. When I was a young gilr, my family always told me that everybody can have a home. The way I see it now, only the wealthy and rich can succeed. Maybe if Limbaugh and Coulter did a lot of charity work or volunteer for good causes I could say they deserve to be heard. But all they do is tell people how unpatriotic and sinful and wrong they are. Jeez!

By the way, she doesn't disrespect the government, but the people currently running (ruining) it. Obama must be stopped before civil war breaks out. Although that would be fun in the sense that libs will all be unarmed.

So far at this year's CPAC we have Coulter, Limbaugh, Gingrich, Delay, Joe the Plumber. Not sure if Hannity or O'Reilly made it? Nevertheless, if this is the GOP brain trust, life is good for the Dems.

Stupid bimbos are stupid. And snobs. So unfortunate and ironic that the people she looks down on look down on her. Her attitude is what's wrong with American conservatives: arrogance without substance. Looking dumb and talking mean is no way to go through life, son.

I don't like Ann Coulter and believe that someone who has the attention of the media (as she does) should contribute more positive to society. Doesn't she have anything good to say or contribute?

That being said, when responders write with ugly comments and sarcasm, then we are no better than the republicans with whom we disagree. People, clean up your acts. If you have something intelligent to say – say it well or leave the posting space to others.
