Coulter jabs Obama at CPAC

Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.
Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.

(CNN) - Conservative political commentator Ann Coulter’s 15-minute address at CPAC played more like a stand-up comedy act than a political speech.

Coulter delivered line after line of jabs at President Obama, the Democratic Party and the media – each met with roaring laughter from the crowd.

The commentator – who is no stranger to controversy – first went after MSNBC, calling the hosts the “alternative prom crowd.”

Pointing to recent comparisons of Obama to Jesus and Abraham Lincoln, Coulter said the media has turned from being the people’s watchdog to the “government guard dog.”

“Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see Lincoln text messaging with Scarlet Johansson … and I forget, how many times did Lincoln vote present?” she said, to much applause.

Coulter likened members of the media and Democrats to parents “gushing” over a newborn baby.

“Having pulled off their rather mediocre 53 percent to 46 percent victory, liberals can’t stop boasting about their new baby boy,” she said.

She said it was interesting that Obama’s “adorers” in the media compare him to Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, because, “apparently they can’t think of a Democratic president worthy of being compared to.”

“If [Obama] thinks people wanted change in 2009, wait until 2012,” she said.

Coulter has a long history of making controversial comments about politicians. Following her appearance at the 2007 CPAC, multiple companies asked to pull their ads from her Web site after she used what some observers called an anti-gay slur to describe then-Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.

She was also at odds with Sen. John McCain during the campaign season, saying "John McCain is not only bad for Republicanism, which he definitely is - he is bad for the country."

Ann Coulter and people of her ilk want to lead the nation back to the 19th century.

How sad that a philosophical movement has abandoned ideas. Conservatives, I have figured out what you are against. Remember any fool can burn a barn down. Socrates suffered from this syndrome even as brilliant as he was. Criticism has it limits. At some point, life is all in, and obviously you have said no to that as well. Ideas are the key to creation, not endless entreaties of "I'm against it."

It amazes me how mean and evil the Republicans are. They are so full of themselves. They act as if they are the only Christians going, but, their thoughts are not on what they can do for their fellow man. Everything that they say is to degrade and denigrate someone else. How can you claim Jesus on one hand and sputter hatred in the other.? I do not believe that they will ever rise to power again. Their days are gone forever. Most of America has mover way past this devision. They will continue to find themselves in the minority.
Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter need to fast and pray the hate demons out, otherwise, they will find themselves in hell one day.

Ann is great. Rush is great. Sean is great. Americans need to sober up from their temporary state of Obama inebriation. When they do – as they will – the clear and sensible voices of Coulter, Limbaugh, and Hannity will help them through the hangover.

The extreme right wing nuts like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh are really a turn off to the normal republicans. They are mentally twisted beyond repair. They are setting the standards for core values?

Ann Coulter is one of my favorites, because she continues to speak the truth with humor even though empty headed left wingers like the ones on this blog continue to hurl insults at her.
There's no hate like the hate that comes from you liberals!

A plethora of hate directed at Ann Coulter while describing how full of hate SHE is.

    The irony is stunning.

After eight years of listening to the hate spewing and vomiting forth from many on the left, aimed at the right, has turned the left into the very hatemongers they claim the right is.

I read the comments for months now, on this site and others, and I am realizing the left is transforming themselves into the very thing they fear and despise.

Stereotyping, hating, close minded, sexist, race baiting, nasty, foul mouthed, humorless, angry, spite filled, vengeful, arrogant, snobs.

(and don't forget foolish looking for claiming the right are the very things they demonstrate themselves to be(not alleged but their very own words display it for the world to see))

They need anyone / anything remotely relevant.. of course they welcome her. It's like watching dinosaurs become extinct .. tick tick tick... Coulter should write about anorexia or stalking in her next book.

Who is worse: Ann Culter spewing stuff about Dems and Obama, or all you bloggers that are spewing things about her, Rush, McCain, and Bush?

Do any of you really think she reads this stuff?

If you want to discuss something with someone that disagrees with you, I will challenge any of you to a debate. I think that is a better use of time than throwing nasty insults.

And this is exactly why the right wing neocon nutjob party lost so big in 2008 and will lose again so big in 2012. Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, Palin, Jindal.... all cashing in on hate and hypocrisy and confusing applause with validation.

Coulter gives women a bad name. It's either her way of thinking or no way. Everyone else is wrong. Every interview she gives, the moderator doesn't even get a chance. She's a rude, obnoxious, venom filled woman. If she's so great, why doesn't she run for office? Could it be because she's only in it for the money from her books and speeches? Ya think! And to think there are actually people who buy her books is unfathomable.

Anyone else notice the attendees at the CPAC are all white. Where are the hispanic, asian, blacks, indians, etc.? These conservatives are what's wrong with the republican party. Until republicans become more moderate, the general populace will not vote for them again. We don't want people telling us we have to believe in God, telling us what we can and can't do with our bodies, telling us if we don't believe like they do, we're not good people.

Having said all this, I was a republican for over 30 years, but when the conservatives became so powerful in the party policies, I switched to independent. As long as the conservaties are in charge of the party's candidates, I will never vote for a republican for any office.

Please...if the republicans want people to see who they truly are then they need to stop all of this bickering and name calling towards the Democrats.

They have not told, in detail, what their mission or vision is-they're just bashing Obama, his administration, & Democrats.

Who can decide if they want to join the RNC when all the information they are getting is teenage rhetoric.

Noone from CPAC, with all the rhetoric, complaints, pundents and comments have said anything about the plight of the American people and how they can fix it. Yet they let loud mouths like Rush and Ann do the talking while the Republicans hide behind their coat-tails and villify the President of the United States Barack Obama how do you expect the world to respect and feel about our leader.

After that speech from Rush I know the world has said it is a sad day in America but of course (it is free speech) what a jerk.
