Coulter jabs Obama at CPAC

Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.
Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.

(CNN) - Conservative political commentator Ann Coulter’s 15-minute address at CPAC played more like a stand-up comedy act than a political speech.

Coulter delivered line after line of jabs at President Obama, the Democratic Party and the media – each met with roaring laughter from the crowd.

The commentator – who is no stranger to controversy – first went after MSNBC, calling the hosts the “alternative prom crowd.”

Pointing to recent comparisons of Obama to Jesus and Abraham Lincoln, Coulter said the media has turned from being the people’s watchdog to the “government guard dog.”

“Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see Lincoln text messaging with Scarlet Johansson … and I forget, how many times did Lincoln vote present?” she said, to much applause.

Coulter likened members of the media and Democrats to parents “gushing” over a newborn baby.

“Having pulled off their rather mediocre 53 percent to 46 percent victory, liberals can’t stop boasting about their new baby boy,” she said.

She said it was interesting that Obama’s “adorers” in the media compare him to Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, because, “apparently they can’t think of a Democratic president worthy of being compared to.”

“If [Obama] thinks people wanted change in 2009, wait until 2012,” she said.

Coulter has a long history of making controversial comments about politicians. Following her appearance at the 2007 CPAC, multiple companies asked to pull their ads from her Web site after she used what some observers called an anti-gay slur to describe then-Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.

She was also at odds with Sen. John McCain during the campaign season, saying "John McCain is not only bad for Republicanism, which he definitely is - he is bad for the country."

This is fun and every day it's gets better. With the likes of Rush and Ann, they can do no wrong. Geroge Bush had fun with them and where did it get him?

I'd like to see more of Ann and Rush also the guys who wrote the forward thinking on Neo-conservatism. We need more of those people because in the end, they are an end to their means.

Americans were not frightened by them this past election and expect the same garbage, onlt that it gets stinker. Come 2010/2012, we need not wish them bye bye! They'll all be none events lead out to pasture like wild animals.

Gawd, the jealousy and ignorance of the Ann Coulter haters is truly astounding. What is it about liberals that make them detest intelligent, beautiful, successful women? Is it the lack of intelligent, beautiful successful women in the dem party? Probably. Smart, strong women don't need the government as their surrogate husband/"baby daddy". It's a shame that your lips are glued to the teet of big government, but on the plus side, it does keep you occupied – sucking and constantly whining for a new hand-out.

Well keep on writing your little snide remarks and ad hominem attacks on a blog because you'd pee down your leg in fright if you ever tried to debate her. It's obvious that you'd rather try to censor her than debate her. She is an author that meticulously footnotes her sources. It must be the facts that scare the liberals so much.

CPAC crowd is sicko, weirdo, out of touch, mean spirted, stuck on themselves, in love with poor standup comic wantabees like the ilk they all cheer on.
Give a brilliant centrice, moderate, or liberal any day. At least they can think, plan, carryout, succeed. Remember the peace and prosperity days of Clinton. They were all jealoous of him as they are now of Obama. Poor, lost, irrelevant, unnecessary, unwanted, unrespected, even HATED repugs.

    She's garbage.

There is NOTHING remotely Christian about her. Not one thing.
She's disgustingly hateful, angry and evil.

    GOD SAVE HER VILE SOUL!

When will Republicans learn? Tax breaks as a sole strategy only works when you HAVE money. For those of us with little to no money, giving us back a piece of our tiny pie is not going to help the economy or the individual. It only benefits those with a larger piece of the pie to begin with. If you have a lot – you keep a lot. If you make a little, you keep a little. ......Oh wait, that was the whole idea.....keep the poor poor and the rich richer. The information technology generation has arrived and you can't fool them by saying you love America and then using the "less government" mantra to keep government from allowing you to pillage the less fortunate Americans who lack the finances to thrive under Republican leadership.

Yep, I have to agree with most of the posts here...as long as the mean-spirited attacks on the dems and the rest of us who are tired of the way this country has been run under the republicans continues then President Obama et. al. has nothing to worry about. Coulter, Limbaugh and Hannity are about as funny and sophisticated as a group of third graders hanging out on the playground swapping flatulence and potty jokes. Keep it up youse guys, you are slaying us with your humor.

Ann is a fool........ who is being used by the republicans and she does even know that they are using her yet. Ann, Rush, Nick and the rest of the republican conservatives are good for the Democrats. Over the last eight years they alone with Mr. Bush have turn this country upside down and now.......now the Democrats, lead by President Obama are cleaning it up.

It is sad to say because 80 percent of the country is hurting, but maybe it was meant to be that Mr. Bush stayed in office for eight years to expose the Republicans for what they really were. Now the American voters know who the real leaders are. Democrats will be in power for decades to come. Number 1 issue on voters mind is the republicans voted with Mr. Bush for Wall Street.......but voted against Obama and a stimulas bill for the American people. They drove themselves right over a cliff and will never be able to climb back up.

It's rather interesting that, at a time when Republicans most need to be distancing themselves from the far right and appealing to disillusioned moderates, they are still allowing themselves to be represented by idiots like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter.

Every time a Republican senator or governor almost has me convinced with a stirring speech about fiscal responsibility, I remember, "Oh yeah, it's the anti-gay, anti-choice party that cringes at the possibility of non-white cultural influences and didn't seem to care about fiscal responsibility when the debt was being run up by one of their own."

They do realise that the election is OVER and they LOST!!!!

All day, I have not heard one thing about how they will help get this country back from the brink. All I hear is Obama bashing and its childish and a waste of time. Until they bring fresh ideas to the table instead of recycling ideas from the 80s they will continue to be irrelevant.

Also, think about this, do you see Microsoft or other companies peddle the products they had in the 80s???? No, they adjust and work with the changing times. Talking in ridicules slang, but not adjusting their ideas will only keep the conservatives where they are and I guess that's fine with me!

As for Coulter, the article says it all. She's a comedian, a joke.

Here we go again. A ridiculous idiot of a person who thinks she is so powerful, and really is sickening. NORMAL PEOPLE CANNOT STAND HER !!!! ARE YOU LISTENING????
Another situation that is getting a little ridiculous is the fact that CNN is always showing all the talk from the Repubs. and how they knock almost everything Pres. Obama does or says or his administration comes up with, yet you never have your newsmen come up with at least someone following up with possibly "IT IS A GOOD IDEA" instead CNN just continuing to show all the bad talk about Obama. I do not believe CNN is being bias at all, I am just saying when something that is said that leaves the listener wondering "IS THIS REPUBLICAN RIGHT OR WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO THINK" THIS IS WHERE I BELIEVE CNN SHOULD HAVE POSSIBLY SOMEONE TRY TO EXPLAIN EASILY WHAT AND WHY THE DECISION OF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WAS MADE. Just a thought........

No doubt they welcome her. I saw them standing and cheering for Rush the druggie. They have truly drunk the kool aid.

Have they stopped even for one moment and though about how their policies have gotten us to where we are? Or are they too busy trying to blame it on someone? They had 8 years? Enough.

The Repugnicans are running scared because Obama is bent on improving education for the nascar crowd and the gang bangers. When those American get educated, Rush and his ilk will have to find another job from Yapping on the radio.
