Coulter jabs Obama at CPAC

Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.

Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.

(CNN) - Conservative political commentator Ann Coulter’s 15-minute address at CPAC played more like a stand-up comedy act than a political speech.

Coulter delivered line after line of jabs at President Obama, the Democratic Party and the media – each met with roaring laughter from the crowd.

The commentator – who is no stranger to controversy – first went after MSNBC, calling the hosts the “alternative prom crowd.”

Pointing to recent comparisons of Obama to Jesus and Abraham Lincoln, Coulter said the media has turned from being the people’s watchdog to the “government guard dog.”

“Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see Lincoln text messaging with Scarlet Johansson … and I forget, how many times did Lincoln vote present?” she said, to much applause.

Coulter likened members of the media and Democrats to parents “gushing” over a newborn baby.

“Having pulled off their rather mediocre 53 percent to 46 percent victory, liberals can’t stop boasting about their new baby boy,” she said.

She said it was interesting that Obama’s “adorers” in the media compare him to Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, because, “apparently they can’t think of a Democratic president worthy of being compared to.”

“If [Obama] thinks people wanted change in 2009, wait until 2012,” she said.

Coulter has a long history of making controversial comments about politicians. Following her appearance at the 2007 CPAC, multiple companies asked to pull their ads from her Web site after she used what some observers called an anti-gay slur to describe then-Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.

She was also at odds with Sen. John McCain during the campaign season, saying "John McCain is not only bad for Republicanism, which he definitely is - he is bad for the country."

I agree. Democratics are all for freedom of speach, as long as your speach agrees with them. Otherwise, you are a racists, full of hate...etc..

Does anybody understand the intellectually deficient Coulter and Limbaugh? Sarah Palin makes these two seem like intellectual midgets. It seems strange that the Dems have become the party of Lincoln and the GOP the party of unpatriotic slobs.

Ms Coulter and Rush are *expecting* the reactions. They need the reactions in order to accomplish their primary goal, which has nothing whatsoever to do with politics. It has to do with making money. Being outlandish achieves that.

It is good to see someone attacking the socialist movement and the democratic "messiah" with some fervor and energy. God knows the lapdog media (CNN, MSNBC etc) won't. I am very concerned about what our country will be like in 4 years with over 15 trillion as our national deficit. All you dems that gloat and revel like this grotesque spending frenzy was a mandate will have yourselves to blame when this country goes bankrupt and then the voices of fiscal conservatives like Limbaugh and Coulter will seem prophetic....

It appears the entire country is filled with people who don't understand, don't care and certainly are foolish. Republican Party! Democratic Party! Where in the Constitution is there an allowance for political parties to control the Congress? They are both only interested in power and keeping their people in office at any costs to the people and the country. Let one representative vote what he/she thinks is best for the country instead of the party line and see how long they stay in office. Like the Venezuelans, those who chose change (socialism) deserve what is coming, but not their children.

Everybody should get over it, all the "rich white" voters are getting their just rewards, taxes, taxes, taxes. All the liberal talk hosts who fear the fairness doctrine , should fear if the media were to do their job and report the news and not make it..

Another blow hard who's attributes include insults, hatred, lacking any common sense, and not being able to make a single-positive-constructive statement. In other words.........she is Rush's twin.

It was completely irresponsible for call her a lunatic. What's the difference between Ann Coulter and a horse? The horse has a better chance of getting laid! I really dislike this person. It's funny that he Repubs are getting made leaving comments saying that we're full of hate and that we're afraid of Ann Coulter. I'm not afraid of anybody. Dennis, you are my new hero! "Men are from Mars. Women are from Venus. Ann Coulter is from Uranus!" You should make that into a bumper sticker! Get mad Repubs! You have some wonderful leaders in your party.

    "Bill in DC "

"Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh are perfect examples of why the Republican party is doomed for the same fate as the Whig party of the 1800s.

Mark my word, the Repblican party will not exist in 50 years."

And If we continue down this "path" that the Democratic Party are leading us....We as a country might not be around in 50 years.
Just remember Bill...Obama-ism/Social-ism doesn't work....never has never will.

Gee the more you hear from these republicans the more you have to laugh right out loud.

The bush administration sent, but destroyed over 4 millions emails. No record, no nothing, now the republicans are talking about obama and the Dems sending messages.

Give me a break can these little republican kids get more snippy and whinney.

Coulter? Gimme a break! Why would the GOP be recruiting the lunatic fringe to talk. I personally know honest, decent, intelligent people who are conservative Republicans, and they do not subscribe to the fear and hate fill diatribe of the Coulter/Limbaugh ilk, whose attempts to divide and fracture our country is anti-American to the core, But, hey, they are making really big bucks doing it. Why should they care that they are weakening our country.

I really think or should I say thought that people could see through this kind of tirade. The late night talk shows didn't spew hate about Bush, they were merely provided with so much comedic material. Rush and Anne must have had horrible childhoods. Anne knows an awful lot about alternative proms, please tell us about the misery you experienced. I'd love to understand you both Probably the MSNBC crowd would love to, as well.

She is the same as JESSE JACKSON & AL SHARPTON...with these idiots saying that whites are racist. They really don't believe what they're saying (maybe they do), but they want to energize their base – and the base will go out and buy their books. This is one of the oldest professions in the world (except for prostitution) and what Ann is doing is just getting the message out to the conservatives. She could care less what the media thinks of's her base she cares about.

You ppl have to realize there are extremes on both sides of the aisle and there always will be flamethrowers out there to make a buck. And that's what Jesse, Al, and Ann are doing – attacking the other side to get their base fired up – and then their base goes out and buy their books.

Geez....rush and his gang of clown are some scary individuals, god help us if these people succeed in getting their message across. Obama would be very wise to ignore this trailer trash crap their spoutin. This talk is to low to give credance to. When that fool rush mentioned that obama is not inspiring I knew that man was evil for distorting the truth.

What amazes me most is how this broad manages to find work. Maybe she's comping CPAC. For crying out loud (no pun intended) Give President Obama a chance. He's been on the job 6 weeks and already people are calling for his head. The people complaining most about the Recovery plan are the ones with the most to gain-Corporate America and the fat cat elite. Pay your fair share like the 'rest' of us.
And Rush...pffft...I had that guy figured out in the 80's.

Hey, Superferret… You can't be serious to suggest that — in response to an article about Anne Coulter, of all people — that it's surprising, or for that matter even anywhere near wrong, for people to react with anger and hate.

This woman has to be one of the most hate-filled, bile-spewing blights in existence on this planet.

Here's a comment you won't read on the air: Rush is RIGHT! The welfare state has decimated the black family; abortion on demand has given rise to a self-induced black genocide. But for wholesale abortion, there would be double the number of American blacks. What a shame! Martin Luther King was a Republican. No wonder he had a message of hope and self-sufficiency.

Most of all, I must ask: If what Rush is saying is SO very damaging to the conservative movement, why are the Dems working overtime to "Hush Rush"? Methinks the lady doth protest too much!

"W",Anne, Rush, and Sara – this is what is wrong with the Republican PArty. We need effective government not bipartisan bull like these yoyo throw around. As I watch this Let's make Obama fail" approach, i have abandoned my party (Republican) in shame. The Republican party is lost. Ity stands for nothing except the opposition of the Democratic party. What this country really needs is a third party. The bipartisan bull will stop overnight and poor Rush will need more narcotics.

CPAC should be called OBAC "Obama Bashing" instead of Conservative Political. Rush, Newt, Ann; none of them had a positive suggestion for 2012. All they did was criticize President Obama and everything he is trying to do.
