(CNN) - Conservative political commentator Ann Coulter’s 15-minute address at CPAC played more like a stand-up comedy act than a political speech.
Coulter delivered line after line of jabs at President Obama, the Democratic Party and the media – each met with roaring laughter from the crowd.
The commentator – who is no stranger to controversy – first went after MSNBC, calling the hosts the “alternative prom crowd.”
Pointing to recent comparisons of Obama to Jesus and Abraham Lincoln, Coulter said the media has turned from being the people’s watchdog to the “government guard dog.”
“Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see Lincoln text messaging with Scarlet Johansson … and I forget, how many times did Lincoln vote present?” she said, to much applause.
Coulter likened members of the media and Democrats to parents “gushing” over a newborn baby.
“Having pulled off their rather mediocre 53 percent to 46 percent victory, liberals can’t stop boasting about their new baby boy,” she said.
She said it was interesting that Obama’s “adorers” in the media compare him to Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, because, “apparently they can’t think of a Democratic president worthy of being compared to.”
“If [Obama] thinks people wanted change in 2009, wait until 2012,” she said.
Coulter has a long history of making controversial comments about politicians. Following her appearance at the 2007 CPAC, multiple companies asked to pull their ads from her Web site after she used what some observers called an anti-gay slur to describe then-Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.
She was also at odds with Sen. John McCain during the campaign season, saying "John McCain is not only bad for Republicanism, which he definitely is - he is bad for the country."

Obama is for big government? Maybe. But if I recall, GW oversaw the largest increase in spending and government since WW2.

What happened with republican party of limited government and fiscal conservatism? They turned into gun loving, gay hating, Christian fundamentalists, anti abortion, lets reduce taxes of the wealthiest 1 percent party. This is why I voted Obama in last elections. Could you please stop be a party of the conservative south with no progresive ideas. A party of fox news and people like coulter so I can take a republican candidate into consideration for 2012 election.

The reason that this continues is because the media gives play to these people – Limbaugh, Romney, the Republicans, who are upset at their major loss, Ann Coulter. These are all right wing fanatics. Enough already. If he doesn't do the job, fire him out of office in 2012. End of story. But, he was voted in by a majority, and therefore should be given the chance to succeed without all the crazies leaving their caves. (this would also include Palin). Stop with the whining and griping. It is boring and hurtful, as well as destructive (and probably self-destructive for the Repubs – that may be a good thing...they are shooting themselves in BOTH feet) It's tiresome.
Ann Coulter has nothing else to offer but hate. She profits from it. I guess we all must survive. Sadly, this is her gift and contribution to the world.

Maybe Palin didn't attend to prove she "LOVES ISRAEL" just as much as Jeebus. What American "conservatives" forget is that the only real political and fiscal conservative to run in the past 16 years (McCain... whom... without Palin I *may* have voted for) was hijacked and buried by his own team. The reason Ann Coulter delivered a bunch of one liners is because she is a joke. I can see it now, President Palin and Vice President Coulter, we would be laughing all the way into the hands of the Chineese. I think the only way to top that would be have Rush as secretary of state, they could all pop pain pills and spew hate at 80% of Americans with one liners and cocktail parties.
The simple fact is that liberals and the ignorant left wing crazies can dish it out but sure can't take it when they are on the receiving end. Just like the school ground bullies when you give them their own medicine they can only shout and bluster before slinking off into the night like thieves.

With the likes of Limbaugh, Hannity, Gingrich, and Coulter advising and leading the Republicans we have the Four Horsemen mentioned in the Bible. Wasn't is just a few months ago that the media was so relentless in criticizing the president that it hated America? Now a couple of months later the roles switch as if the last 8 years never happened.
P.S. to the conservative freakshow in Washington: It's much easier to sleep at night and just be able to live with yourself if you can acknowledge the truth.
