Coulter jabs Obama at CPAC

Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.
Democrats, President Obama and the media were the targets of Ann Coulter’s jokes.

(CNN) - Conservative political commentator Ann Coulter’s 15-minute address at CPAC played more like a stand-up comedy act than a political speech.

Coulter delivered line after line of jabs at President Obama, the Democratic Party and the media – each met with roaring laughter from the crowd.

The commentator – who is no stranger to controversy – first went after MSNBC, calling the hosts the “alternative prom crowd.”

Pointing to recent comparisons of Obama to Jesus and Abraham Lincoln, Coulter said the media has turned from being the people’s watchdog to the “government guard dog.”

“Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t see Lincoln text messaging with Scarlet Johansson … and I forget, how many times did Lincoln vote present?” she said, to much applause.

Coulter likened members of the media and Democrats to parents “gushing” over a newborn baby.

“Having pulled off their rather mediocre 53 percent to 46 percent victory, liberals can’t stop boasting about their new baby boy,” she said.

She said it was interesting that Obama’s “adorers” in the media compare him to Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, because, “apparently they can’t think of a Democratic president worthy of being compared to.”

“If [Obama] thinks people wanted change in 2009, wait until 2012,” she said.

Coulter has a long history of making controversial comments about politicians. Following her appearance at the 2007 CPAC, multiple companies asked to pull their ads from her Web site after she used what some observers called an anti-gay slur to describe then-Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards.

She was also at odds with Sen. John McCain during the campaign season, saying "John McCain is not only bad for Republicanism, which he definitely is - he is bad for the country."

Ann Coulter is hateful, vicious, and just plain mean spirited. I can't believe that anyone would want to listen to her. For being such a "conservative", she dresses pretty sleazy.

These are the types that run my former party ( the republican party) that made me quit. I refused to be represented by such idiotic and divisive pinheads. If Coulter and Limbaugh are the best the republicans can pick to give key note addresses, that just tell you how backward the party is.

Shame on CNN for allowing Rush Limbaugh to spew LIES on your network...

    Limbaugh says conservatives love people...

    ...WHAT A CROCK!

...Limbaugh is a drug addled, high school educated RACIST...

...worshipped by other intellectually challenged, treasonous, racist, confederates...

...and CNN has provided him with the national platform to try and rehabilitate his (and his ilk's) image...

    ...THROUGH LIES!

I don't if I like the Republicans that much anymore. They are leading the way to a more complicated America. A rebuttal is always good, I actually encourage rebuttal, but I also like the hear solutions. Can they give us their solution? If not, shut up and get back to working for the ENTIRE AMERICA. Are we headed into a quasi civil dispute within our government?

Well, you have to keep in mind who she's talking to. These are the same people who wore band aids with purple hearts in 2004. These are the same 13% who think Cheney did a good job. These are the same people who will always believe Obama is not a US citizen.

What frightens me is how the core of the GOP is becoming increasingly indistinguishable from its fringe.

Talk about dumb Yea she can do stand up comedy. She herself is the real joke!

"rather medicare 53 percent to 46 percent victory". When was the last time a Republican had that margin in the poplular vote? Been a while as their ideas (or lack of I should say) are always throwbacks to a time the country was ruled by southern white men

When will the Republicans get it. America supports what Obama is doing. We are a nation of mixed races and ideas. The party of southern whites men led by Rush will lose even worse in 2010 as they get their message out that they are the whining, no ideas, do nothing but obstruct party.

Keep it up! You are becoming less relevant all the time to the working American!

Ann Coulter and her likes are sore losers. They must be wailing when they get back home. But when they are out in the media, they behave like a frog-in-the-well. They can't accept the fact that they are downright negative and would love the President to fail, just because they couldn't digest his victory. Is this Patriotism ????

Why on earth does this ditz still merit any attention? She tried to exalt the moron Joseph McCarthy as some kind of hero. She should be loaded onto one of the garbage scows in New York and dumped out at sea. But wait! That would be pollution, maybe a launch into the sun is more appropriate. But wai! Did "she" ever complete that sex change?

Oh, look, there's Limbaugh sitting in a tree:
    R A N T I N G
Here comes Hannity, and O'Reilly too,
    R A N T I N G
First comes fear, then comes anger; all of it filled with so much hate.

Isn't that Coulter, Ingram, and Newt?
And there is Dobb's with Beck in tow...
Here is Hulklebee heading for the tree, followed by all of the GOP...

Make room for us they shout as one, "the socialists are coming, the
socialists are coming" they cry and moan,
"Oh, please, don't leave us all alone"...

No more tax breaks for the rich, now isn't that just the pits.
Lobbysits with heads held low, Investors not sure where to go...

Wall Street with it's hand held out, watching stocks tumble down.
It's all the Government's fault, they rant and rave...

The socialists are here, the socialist are here...

Here comes Congress with wringing hands, it's members not sure
    where to stand...

Up in the tree for all to see, are the angry members of the GOP.

    R A N T I N G

First comes fear, then comes anger; all of it filled with so much hate.

  16. Great job Ann....

We were told there would be a pullout from Iraq in 16 months but now we hear 50,000 troops will still be there with many getting killed by roadside bombs, suicide bombers and combat with insurgents.

And with 17,000 troops being added to Afgahnistan, bringing the total to 30,000, we'll still be fighting two wars.

Where's the peace we were promised during the campaign?

If Obama's win was "mediocre," I wonder what any logical-minded person would call Bush's two wins.

    Oh, right. They were "mandates."

Keep on being hateful and angry at the President, Republicans. Remember what happened at the RNC last year with all the hate from Guiliani, Palin, etc. Look where that got your party... A landslide victory for the Democrats.

Americans have grown to loathe the hate that is spewed from the right. And that was one of the reasons why I turned from Independent to Democrat last year. Keep it up!

Why don't you run for President, Ann Coulter? Make Rush your VP. If you think you know what America needs then why don't you take a shot at the Office of President of the United States. Plus you would make an awful wife to any guy that is dumb enough to marry you. President Obama is doing a great job so far. Unless he sign FOCA. If he does then I will not vote for him again.
