Limbaugh fires back at Steele

Limbaugh criticized RNC Chairman Michael Steele for his recent comments.
Limbaugh criticized RNC Chairman Michael Steele for his recent comments.

(CNN) – Talk radio host Rush Limbaugh fired back at Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele Monday, suggesting on his radio show the GOP leader appears to be supporting President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

"Why do you claim to lead the Republican Party when you seem obsessed with seeing to it President Obama succeeds?" Limbaugh addressed Steele.

"I frankly am stunned that the chairman of the Republican National Committee endorses such an agenda. I have to conclude that he does because he attacks me for wanting it to fail," said Limbaugh.

Late last week, Steele told CNN's D.L. Hughley that Limbaugh is an "entertainer" whose comments are "ugly."

Also on his radio program Monday, Limbaugh said Steele is being used by the "liberal media."

"Michael Steele has been around long enough to know that the liberal media will use him by twisting what I say or what others say," he said. "He took the bait, he bit down hard on the bait, he launched an attack on me, even though the premise of what was said to him was false."

Rush is a bigot, plain and simple.I have notice when Bush was in office that Rush was quiet .Now that theres a Black man in the white house and head of the GOP , Rush have been very vociferous. WE as a people need to stop given Rush the power by listening and talking about him.I'm done .

Republican Party will recieve 25% of vote in the next elections. Let everyone mark this projection. This is certain to happen if they continue the part they are going. This country is in dear need of leader who should partrotically work to fine solutions to our numerious problems and not politics as usual. This country found a leader and they want everyone to support him to achieve a greater hight for this nation.

    Wow!

Rush is taking on the Republican figure head. Now the rank and file Republicans have to decide who to support. Either the ranking Republics need to remove Steele or support him against Limbaugh and face the rath of the Rush's minions.

Ah Rush Limbaugh...pounds his hypocritical gums together about the war on drugs, but gets arrested himself for illegal possession. Puffs on about family values, but he divorced 3 times. He wants the current administration to fail, while he sits on a vast fortune and doesn't have to worry about the world economy teetering on the brink of disaster...thanks in no small way to the incredibly irresponsible spending of his beloved Republican administration. Why does anyone listen to this guy? Al Franken was right years ago, when he wrote that Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot. And I couldn't possibly agree with him more...

It's about time someone in the Republican Party stood up to this pompus, arrogant, misinformed entertainer. He doesnt' want President Obama to succeed? I guess this dirtbag really isn't an American.

The republican party is breaking up as we speak. Those limbaugh worshipers represent the new face of the American Taliban party: extreme right wing religious fundamentalists hell bent on tearing down the country to look like something from the 18th century.

And YES, they are the greatest threat the U.S. faces.

Frankly, I'm glad this internecine feud is happening for the very soul of the Republican Party. Rush pays lip service to smaller government and the ideals of our Founders yet he supported W. Bush when he expanded the gov't via Dept. of Homeland Security , increased spending due to two wars and gutted our constitution via the Patriot Act. The Northeastern Republicans (Collins, Specter and Snowe) and the libertarian-bending Ron Paul are endagered species in the Republican Party. The evangelical and far right wing is now ascendant in the R.P. It is in shambles after the last election. Rush is now the de facto voice and leader of the RP–Michael Steele is virtually powerless to stop the corrosion within.

Because, Limbaugh you arrogant selfish creep, he wants America to succeed. Now is NOT the time for this kind of hatred. America needs to weather this and they will not weather it out with the same practices that got us into this mess.

Somebody put a muzzle on this fat pig.

Why doesn't Rush go crawl under a rock somewhere?
I mean we lived under the republican agenda for 8 years, and look where it got us!

Why the hell would we want do go back, unless we want to being about the end of the world?

Limbaugh is only interested in ratings, the more press and time we give the entertainer the higher his ratings. If the press stopped reporting on him, and his ratings go down, maybe the Goofy Old Party and help turn things around.

The stock market has spoken and Obama has failed

Who care about the stock market. It was failing long before Obama became President. Blame it on the greeding CEO and the banks that no one trust any more. More people are pulling their money out of the banks and this is the reason for the continue stock market failure. Do not blame this mess on The President. Greeded is the only reason!

Limbaugh is nothing but a joke and cares nothing about our country and if the GOP continues to listen to this clown they too will become a joke! Oh wait after eight years of Bush, they are a JOKE!

Steele is finding our or will find out what many already know: He's just a figure head. He and Gov. Jindal are just symbolic faces to help in recruiting.

Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, Coulter, DeLay and Ginrich are the voices for the Republican Party. The party of the KKK, Separatists, ultra-right wing religious fanatics, homophobics, political hypocrits, and one-issue abortion voters.

I hope Steele isn't too surprised.

Who in the world with a brain would ever listen to anything limburger has to say? Can't his followers see this drugged-out impostor and buffoon for what is really is? He looks as if he is about to burst like a balloon or at least have a heart attack. There is certainly already enough hatred being spewed by repubs, that they don't need this nutcup making speeches as if he is the only sane one to lead his party. Can't you followers see what he is doing by using you to feed his own hatreds? Wake up people!!

  22. You Have to Be Kidding

It appears to me that both Rush Limbaugh and Osam bin Laden have the same agenda...they both want America to fail.

George Bush was a failure by his own hand. No one ever *wanted* him to fail. The republican's are of another ilk. They want the Obama administration to fail, make no bones about it, and are working towards that goal.

Now that my friends is not only un-patriotic, its close to trason.

Steele would do very well to to put Limbaugh in his place as an entertainer with an ugly message. The republicans are very close to becoming a fringe cult.

Limbaugh is a disgrace to all Americans. I don't care what your political affiliations are, to wish that our President fails is to wish failure on your country and its citizens. Limbaugh is always so full of theatrical comments about what's wrong with everyone else, it is obvious he does not recognize how completely out of touch he is with real Americans and their needs. Now is not the time for someone like Limbaugh to even have an audience, as his negativity is just not needed in America today. The media should stop giving him so much air time. Perhaps he should find himself an island where being an ignorant, opinionated demi-god might fit in with the local culture – because his rantings are completely out of line with America needs today.

    Rush is right...again!

May Steele's reign as head of the GOP be the shortest on record. We can't afford to have any more liberal appeasers within the GOP camp.
