(CNN) – A conservative group has launched an ad campaign in support of Republican Jim Tedisco’s fight for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand’s former House seat.

The conservative Our Country Deserves Better Committee, an independent PAC, announced Tuesday that it will be buying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of television and radio airtime in Albany and New York City over the next few weeks. The group will launch its first radio and television spots on Thursday.

In the first series of ads, the group attacked Democratic candidate Scott Murphy for supporting the economic stimulus bill and said he has a “shameful record of attacking our military.”

“Tedisco’s opponent, Democrat Scott Murphy, is the taxpayers’ worst enemy,” Lew Uhler, Chairman of the National Tax Limitation Committee PAC, said in one of the ads, accusing the Democrat of failing to pay taxes and to vote in several elections. The group also takes aim at Murphy over his support for President Obama’s stimulus plan.

The special election to replace Gillibrand is scheduled for March 31.

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee was started in the past year and released ads supporting Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and attacking President Obama’s policies.

The special election pitting Tedisco against Murphy is a priority for both parties: On Monday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committees paid for an ad for Murphy, while former Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani hit the trail with Tedisco in upstate New York.

Hey liberal idiots, maybe YOU should go back to your history books! America's founding is based on less government, less taxes! The revolutionary war was fought against tyranny like that which you seem to favor! Perhaps you are our modern day Tories! Liberals I have never seen more hate and intolerance as I have seen from you! You are closetcase racists and biggots if I've ever seen any! Oh and evolve, don't suddenly by asking for gods help when you have probably denied his existance thus far!

mary,florida   March 3rd, 2009 10:15 pm ET

Bush called it right, him and his party created a crisis. It will hurt the economy for years to come. The only thing you can blame Obama for is that the mess is so bad even he cant clean it up.

dan   March 3rd, 2009 10:14 pm ET

"Can any Obama supporters explain why the DOW has lost 4,500 points since he won the election? Never before in history has this happen.'

hey idiot did you see the wall street journal poll today. 85% of americans are smarter than you because they dont blame obama for the stock market tanking. What will you say when the market is up 3000 points? It was Rush Lintball ?

Ellie   March 3rd, 2009 10:05 pm ET

A Republican in New York after the mess Gulliani made of things along with his corrupt security team? Yeah right, think again.

Bill   March 3rd, 2009 9:46 pm ET

Scott Murphy has definitely caused people to pay more taxes, as he has given and created jobs to real people, Jim Tedisco is a Joe Bruno clone, blowhard. The funny thing about this whole thing is Tedisco can't even vote for himself, because he doesn't live within the district.

lkinopfl   March 3rd, 2009 9:31 pm ET

It seems like the main goal of the conservatives is to make the "government smaller" by taking in all the tax dollars and using it to their own whims and those of their best buddies and cronies. We are so tired of that regime. If we are paying our tax $$s anyway, then why shouldn't it go to something that will benefit and better support all Americans and our American societies. That is OUR money & it should be used for US, not the Rethugs and their never-ending desire to gain control of that $$ and use it at their own whim. I hope the Republican does not win the NY House seat. The Republican idealogy no longer works, and is no longer ethical!

Trent   March 3rd, 2009 9:23 pm ET

The stimulus package is nothing but a thinly veiled communist takeover. More taxpayer money should be given to big businesses, corporations and banks, like the 185 bil to AIG so far. Ater all, these people are doing such a "competent" job....

ranjit   March 3rd, 2009 8:58 pm ET

Well, it will be answered on March 31st. On the day Tedisco wins, there will be postings in this blog saying that, it was a conservative district and it is not a big deal. I predict a 10% win for Tedisco and it will be the first election to start the process of Republicans winning back the seats that they lost in 2006.

Scott, Tucson   March 3rd, 2009 8:49 pm ET

All I can say is Rep Sessions of Texas wants the GOP to act like the Taliban. So this is the new strategy of the rethug party.

human being   March 3rd, 2009 8:47 pm ET

I didnt realize that repubs think that Obama is only 53% of the country's POTUS. What idiots. rethugs are the most unpatriotic things on earth. Why dont they join the Taliban since that is what they act like.

Emma, San Jose   March 3rd, 2009 8:43 pm ET

With the economy in recession where are they getting the big bucks.
But, understandable, considering the GOP's struggle to empower the party.

texas teacher   March 3rd, 2009 8:40 pm ET

Pam.... Limbaugh is the voice of the GOP! *LOL* so, of course, they would have to try to say that Moore is the voice of the Dems..... these guys are off the hook! They don't know what they are doing! They are just running around like the proverbial "chicken with its head cut off!" :)

texas teacher   March 3rd, 2009 8:37 pm ET

Mary... Really? Spelling puts you off? Come on... you have NO POINT so you attack the person instead of the issue. Sorry... debating 101.... Stick to the issues... you can call the person stupid and still be attacking their stance of the issue! But when you attack their spelling.... *LOL* that means you have no way to refute the ISSUE! That speaks volumes about just how stupid YOU are! Sometimes you just got to say it... "if the truth hurts... let it hurt!" Seriously...

malclave quote:
"Good to see that Michael Moore still has all you Democrats on target. Everyone knows that he's in charge of the Democrats".
- – - – - –

That was pretty weak ‘malclave’. Everyone knows Michael Moore is very good at highlighting liberal causes, but Moore doesn't make DNC Chairman or Dem. Governors crawl on their knees to Moores's throne and humbly kiss his ring as they beg forgiveness for crossing him. This is what BOSS LIMBAUGH did to S.C. Republican Governor Mark Sanford and newly elected RNC Chairman Michael Steele.

"Everyone know that he's in charge of the Democrats". Do tell. Wow, everyone know and STILL we voted for President Obama. LOL I would rather be part of a party that Michael Moore runs, than one that Rush Limbaugh runs. Rush is a seriously sick man, a thrice married, racist drug abuser. What a catch. Who wouldn't want to follow this great "man"?

texas teacher   March 3rd, 2009 8:31 pm ET

Oh, come on..... Republicans can scream bloody murder.. and we still know exactly who they are! They are the ones responsible for the mess we are in! And they are right back to their fear/lies tactics.... it's like if they keep telling us long enough we will believe them.... AGAIN! *LOL* Seriously.... these people are losing their minds!

This is like asking the FOX to investigate the case of the missing chickens in the hen house!... Ludicrous

Perusing-through   March 3rd, 2009 8:20 pm ET

Run hard Scott Murphy . . . . . . run hard!

Joe Madden   March 3rd, 2009 8:12 pm ET

The Republicans should keep some of thier money set aside for the "political coffins" that they will be needing. It has been so amusing to see the Grand Ole Party self destruct and implode upon themselves.

Mike - Houston   March 3rd, 2009 7:57 pm ET

once upon a horse   March 3rd, 2009 7:51 pm ET

seems like it's ONLY at election times when politicians start talking about where your tax dollars go...in other times especially when they are voting for pay raises for themselves they seem to care less. And that goes for BOTH parties.

Steve (the real one)   March 3rd, 2009 7:49 pm ET

@ ray,
At the risk of repeating myself, when you have nothing that resembles intelligent discussion and debate to contribute ... cry racism! You cast a accusing finger at the republicans and a blind eye towards the democrats as there are racists in both parties but you can't or don't want to see that!

@ gl,
you guys have been and STILL are working over GWB and you just can't seem to stop talking about Palin even when this article has absolutely nothing to do with her. Please explain why you are so scare of her!

John   March 3rd, 2009 7:48 pm ET

There will be one less Republican in this race. Theres no way Americans will ever elect a republican in office again. Americans know why and who brought your country to its knees and it surely wasn't the Taliban. The greatest threat to America is the GOP. Just look at the mess they have caused average Americans in the last 30 years. With another Republican in the White House, most average Americans would be either dying of hunger or freezing in the cold. November 4, 2008 was the greatest day in American History and the PEOPLE have spoken. Never Again will they let Republicans screw them like they have the last 8 years.

Greg, San Francisco, CA   March 3rd, 2009 7:41 pm ET

Two concepts I cannot reconcile: "Our Country Deserves Better" and "ads supporting Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin". I understand the words but when put together in a sentence they make no sense at all. Oh it's a Right Wing PAC? Now it makes perfect (non)sense.

Ryan   March 3rd, 2009 7:39 pm ET

Republicans had no problem throwing our tax dollars around while Bush was in office. Now that they're in the minority, they are obsessed with fiscal responsibility. Morons.

CindyLouWho   March 3rd, 2009 7:38 pm ET

The Republicans will say and do anything to make themselves blameless. Dumb idiots.

Trevor in NC   March 3rd, 2009 7:37 pm ET

I thought liberals were supposed to care about others but I was wrong. Today at work we were talking politics and I mentioned that my 401K was down around $30,000 since Obama was elected. Naturally I am not happy about that, but this one lady said, "I don't care, Obama is for abortion and that's all I care about." That's real nice, isn't it?

rick in texas   March 3rd, 2009 7:35 pm ET

I consider myself an independent and reading the degrading views towards each other's party beliefs you would think we were a country at war.We sure don't sound like Americans anymore. I thought our country was built on the right of fredom of speech. While that means we can surely voice our opinion, it doesn't mean we have to trash the other party because they have oposing views. Language like this can only tear down, not build up.

mary   March 3rd, 2009 7:34 pm ET

Pam, the Dems are good hearted, intelligent people? Did you make a funny? You are the BIGGEST hypocrites on the face of this earth. You're a bunch of baby killers with absolutely no fear of judgement from a Maker. You hold NO morals and anyone who disagrees with you is intolerant. You lack wisdom in every area and w/o wisdom your intelligence is futile. Interesting that Obama keeps comparing himself to Lincoln, a Republican, perhaps because there's never been any worthy Democrats?

John   March 3rd, 2009 7:33 pm ET

I came from upstate NY and I can attest to the great roads and progressive industry up there thanks to the republican leadership – NOT.

Thanks to the republicans even McDonalds went bankrupt in Troy NY and the roads and bridges are waiting their turn to fail. Thanks to the republican leadership streets and roads don't get plowed by the end of the season for lack of funds.

Turn down the economic stimulus and watch the rust crumble faster in upstate or vote democrat and get a chance for a change. I grew up in that country and they have been crumbling under republican failed leadership since the 1950's.

cnnnewser   March 3rd, 2009 7:24 pm ET

Did they get the Limbaugh Blessing? LOL

mary   March 3rd, 2009 7:23 pm ET

Republicans every body is tried of your Obama bashing. You guys to it for to years. Please enough allready. Sarah Palin is job and uneducated to the USA. She is having a problem with running her on home – that only should tell it all GL Pittsburgh
--------------------------------
First off gl, take an English course. Look who's calling who uneducated. Secondly, your president has plenty of gaffs, such as naming 57 states in the country. WHAT? Then there's VP Biden, the ultimate gaffer Honestly, can anyone take him seriously? Palin has done a fine job being a mom. Her daughter made a mistake and took responsibility for it, unlike you liberals who NEVER own up to yours. Why can't you all see what a disaster this administration is. He's been in office for a couple of months and already he's managed to tank the stock market, offer quite a few tax evaders a job in his administration and also lied about not allowing earmarks (8,000). What a guy, my hero.

anony   March 3rd, 2009 7:17 pm ET

you seem really intelligent, gl...........nice spelling job, you stupid yank

ib   March 3rd, 2009 7:17 pm ET

It's amazing to me how all the liberals see only one side; their side. They forget how Dodd and Frank helped as much as anyone on the destruction path of this country. To me I see Obama finishing what Bush started; the downfall of this country. Everytime Obama speaks the stock market drops. You can't blame all of the stock market drops on the republicans unless you are a liberal. Everytime the stock market drops so does your 401K plan; think about it.

simmy   March 3rd, 2009 7:08 pm ET

Pat, Touche!

That was really reaching for straws, to call Michael Moore leader of the Democratic party. They can't even throw stones straight. Lol.
They keep trying to bring us down to their level. Never gonna happen.
Intelligence is at work in our party. I still can't believe that CPAC took place in this country. It was definitely "far out." Not groovy at all.
Then Steele dissed Limbaugh, Limbaugh cussed Steele out. Steele ran back to guru Limbaugh to apologize. That's potent stuff.

Franky   March 3rd, 2009 7:06 pm ET

What a joke, Our Country Deserves Better Committee?? In case they don't know, that district where it is, is not what you think it is...

A conservative being in that district is like going out with Lindsay and Paris at the same time...boy, that ain't that bad, LOL!!

Jesus hypocrite hater   March 3rd, 2009 7:04 pm ET

I heard from Jesus that if Retchuglicans put their support behind crackhead Rush, moron Palin, and illiterate Joe (the fake plumber, who else) they'll win next time!

mary,florida   March 3rd, 2009 7:00 pm ET

The republicans think everyone blames Bush, they dont get it.They are a minority because they rubber stamped and every bill was loaded with earmarks. And now they are preaching a 180.How dumb do the republicans think we are.Palin to steal Hillary voters,Stelel obvious. How do we fool the people is all they care about.

Cynthia - Arkansas   March 3rd, 2009 6:52 pm ET

The Republicans can't run a party, much less a campaign. What do they offer? All they do is talk hate and obstruction. Real appealing.

The best they can do is come up with is some lie. Then they can try and fool people into voting for one of their own. Pathetic.

I am sick of this Obama bashing. For the sake of the country and all the citizens, get behind the President. All this crazy talk coming from the Republicans is only turning people off and making them look even more ridiculous. President Obama inherited the worse disaster in American history. He need all of our help!

GuyInVA   March 3rd, 2009 6:51 pm ET

That is if you ignore EVERY PIECE OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE about the Democrats right now that say they are infighting about nearly everything.

Nice 'I know you are, but what am I?' argument, though. A for effort.

So funny to see the comment from "malclave" that Michael Moore is in charge of the Democrats! I guess the neocons have to try to come up with something! Too bad for the dopy repubs that most Dems are intelligent, good-hearted, opened minded and we don't adore anyone. We question everyone, even our President. But keep talking "malclave" and keep listening to fat old druggie rush limbaugh. We love it...you'll never get in office again.

John   March 3rd, 2009 6:21 pm ET

Yeah, way to go by attacking the stimulus bill in upstate NY where the economy has been in the tank since I was a kid back there in the 50's. Anybody that lives in upstate knows what the republicans have done for them lately – NOTHING.

epicbaze2005   March 3rd, 2009 6:19 pm ET

Ya know, for fiscal "conservatives", these "conservative" PACs sure do have a lot of money to spend, in a weakened economy mind you.

Rudy Giuliani? That philandering loser? Yeah, he will help – the Democrats! LOL

No way Tedisco, you will not get my vote! Giuliani cannot help you, he can't even help himself. The taxpayers' "worst enemy" still remains to be the Republicans/Conservatives who brought our country to financial ruin.

Robin   March 3rd, 2009 6:13 pm ET

Evolve, go back to your little closet and take your meds.

David Dekker   March 3rd, 2009 6:12 pm ET

Our country does deserve better than the constant harping of the neocons intent on tearing down our country rather than working together to solve the issues facing us. What about "Country First"?

malclave   March 3rd, 2009 6:10 pm ET
