(CNN) – Alaska State Sen. Kim Elton, one of the leading officials to pursue an investigation of Gov. Sarah Palin during the heat of the presidential campaign, has taken a high-level job in the Interior Department.
Palin reacted in a short statement Monday, the day Elton announced his move to Washington.
“Senator Elton pledged his allegiance to President Obama last summer,” said the governor. “We wish him well as he moves on and hope that he uses this job for Alaska’s benefit.”
Palin was the target of an official investigation last year over charges she improperly dismissed a public safety commissioner who refused to fire her sister’s ex-husband, a state trooper. Elton led the legislative investigation of the incident.
The report, released in October, said Palin had the authority to fire the public safety commissioner, and the governor said it cleared her of wrongdoing. But the report also said Palin had abused her power as governor, and had violated state ethics law.
Elton will serve as Director of Alaska Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior.

Hopefully Elton will put the lid on all the senseless killing of innocent animals in Alaska. "Wolf Killer" Palin needs to be put in check. Anyone who allows shooting and killing of animals from a plane or helicopter is a coward and dangerous to society. I am a gun toting Democrat but I do not think this should be legal.
Pay to play at work again! Mr. Elton run a smear campaign against Palin for Obama and a new job in his adminstration will be waiting. I guess the Obama machine was satify with Mr. Elton efforts.
I guess Elton did her job, slimed Palin, and now collects her payment. What does that make Kim Elton?

Evidently Sen. Elton is being noted as someone who will pursue a wrongdoing even if it involves the governor of a state. This is a good quality needed in D.C. And D.C. needs an Alaska representative who's motto is NOT drill baby drill.

It was ironic that 'Joe the Plumber' was spouting off about the taxes that he erroneously was claiming he would have to pay when in fact he chose not to pay the taxes that he owed.

Sounds like Miss Shake-up DC, is asking for favors and preferential treatment for Alaska in a very blatant and partisan manner. Sort of like the 10 million dollar taxpayer paid for "road to nowhere" she had built.

How is this is a story about Sarah Palin escapes me. As a long time Juneauite. I am proud and happy for Senator Elton's selection for this post. He will do a magnificient job for President Obama and the Nation.
