WASHINGTON (CNN) - Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Tuesday he has spoken with Rush Limbaugh about his comments regarding the conservative radio talk show host.
"We had a nice conversation last night," Steele said in a statement sent to CNN. "We are all good."
RNC officials described the call as private and did not elaborate on the details of the conversation between the two men.

let's see eric cantor disagrees with rush and rush has nothing to say, then the token party leader disagrees with rush and he openly calls the guy out. then steele gives an aplology to rush. more evidence steele is a token there was obviously behind the scene pressure for steele to not fight rush publicly.
Nothing surprises me about the GOP anymore. This is the same party that sought political advice from Joe the Plumber. What a freaking joke they have become.
I don't think that what GOP Chairman Steele said about Rush Limbaugh was an insult. It was the truth. Some people, I'm among them, feel that Rush Limbaugh is an incendiary media persona. Last I checked, the leader of the GOP was ELECTED to said position. Again, GOP Chairman Steele was simply being truthful when he stated that he, not Rush Limbaugh, is the leader of the GOP. I am disappointed that GOP Chairman Steele opted to bow down to Rush Limbaugh instead of stand his ground. I find it hard to believe that the GOP faithful would sooner rally around a radio talk show host instead of one of their ELECTED party leaders. But then I'm not a Republican so maybe it's just not for me to understand.
Look, you liberal ignoramouses and moderates(one and the same), Rush is a conservative. Conservatives stand for certain principles. The conservatives are sick and tired of the RINOS in the party who do not represent us. If a so-called "moderate"(again Democrat) wants to join our party and our beliefs, fine, but we are not going to change what we believe to accomodate you. None of you even know enough about Limbaugh to even discuss him because you don't listen to him, and what you say about him shows your ignorance. The White House is going after Rush because they fear him, but Obama is out of his league taking on Rush. Rush is not an entertainer – he is entertaining as he takes on liberals and exposes them for the destructive lamebrains they are.
This is GREAT!! I hope they keep it up and show just how out of touch the Republican party really is. I REALLY hope that the Republican party ticket for 2012 is Limbaugh/Palin. A dream come true . . .
