WASHINGTON (CNN) - Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Tuesday he has spoken with Rush Limbaugh about his comments regarding the conservative radio talk show host.

"We had a nice conversation last night," Steele said in a statement sent to CNN. "We are all good."

RNC officials described the call as private and did not elaborate on the details of the conversation between the two men.

Why doesn't anyone have the cajones to stand up and say Rush Limbaugh is not the leader of the Republican Party? Yes he is an important voice for the base. Yes he exhibits (for the most part) core conservative ideology. But his tone is negative and negativity detracts from our message and the possibility of getting Democrats and more importantly Independents to subscribe to the Republican philosophy.

Stop saying that hes a "great leader" because hes not.
Stop turning around and apologizing to him when you disagree with him. Because usually he's wrong.

"I think Rush [Limbaugh] is a great leader for conservatives," Jindal says

"There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership," Steele said.

Mr. Steele, can you say "my bad" now? Oh, oh, another one, Michelle Bachman, can you still tell Steele "you da ma-a-nn!"?

    Wimps.

Governer Palin, you are wise in distancing yourself from these idiots!

Looks like Rush Limbaugh-Jim Jones Remix 2012 for the GOP. LOL

Limbaugh wants President Obama to fail?? Are you kidding me? Shouldn't all "Americans" be hoping that President Obama would succeed? If Obama fails so does America. Is that what Limbaugh wants? Financial crisis that we are in today is a crisis for "All Americans". I don't care if you are Democrats or Republicans, instead of working against each other, we should all work together as "citizens" of the greatest nation in the world, to overcome this financial crisis and many obstacles ahead of us.

I wonder if Rush had to take his Viagra for his meeting with Steele.

Limbaugh to Steele: "Dance, I said dance, now get in there and make me some breakfast. You had better have submitted a retraction by the time my coffee is ready. Now who"s da man?"

Umm .. how about considering this ... They both are pragmatic and realize an all out battle royale would benefit no one but the Dems/Libs. As much as they may or may not like each other, they ARE banding together against their common enemy, the very real threat of socialism that the current power structure in DC represents.

    Just a thought.

If Rush and the rest of the GOP continue with the delusion that their message is good for America, I think they need to be hospitalized. Look where we are after 8 years of GOP leadership (6 years in Congress)? How can anyone blame the deficit on the Democrats? How can anyone say that we just need more of the Republican ideology? We're choking on the mess that the Republican ideology made. And the Republicans are still listening to Rush? He reminds me of a little unpopular kid in school who just hates everyone else. Why would we want to listen to them at all anymore? They've proven that they're wrong, wrong, wrong.

Indoctrination for the GOPers begins in their leathery shells and once they hatch, they begin eating the others in their clutch in their neverending quest for advantage and superiority. That poor 14 year old kid never had a chance. It's unfortunate, because most of the policies these guys espouse hurt the vast majority of their constituents as much as they hurt everyone else...they just don't see it. But hey, there's a reason that 1% of people in the country earn 22% of the total national income...up from about 12% in 1980. The reason? One-issue fundamentalist voters.

Can someone within that party grow a backbone? Steele is no leader.

As General Zod told the fake president; "no one who lead so many could possibly kneel so quickly"

Rush Limbaugh is an egotistical, narcisistic, hate monger. Just because he is educated does not mean he knows anything. Ignorance can be educated but stupid can't be fixed, it is forever. Poor Rush is stuck with it forever.
I have tried to listen to him and tried to understand his point of view. I try to always hear all sides of a subject and then make up my mind. Rush has only 1 point of view, HIS. "Nothing shall so much keep a man in everlasting ignorance, as contempt, prior to investigation". I pray I never get to that pitiful state of mind.

Oh, Man! Limbaugh IS the boss of the GOP! This is great – not one of them has the guts to stand up to this pathetic bully! The Republicans are in the middle of (what does Limbaugh call it?) an 'uncivil war!' This is better than watching Sarah Palin even! Mix it up, you guys!!! We'll just sit back and watch the GOP tear itself to shreds!

They are a bunch of morons, all the GOP. And by the way, tell Rush that conservatives have been taking over the nation...seems like he hasn't met us, LOL!!!

Hey, that's great. Now Rush can tell Michael Steele what to think and say the same way he's brainwashed millions of Republicans already. The party of moral values now has a drug addict calling the shots! Wow.
