Limbaugh vs. President Obama

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday.

(CNN) - Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday, calling on him to visit his talk show for an "intelligent, open discussion" on issues like health care and taxes.

"If you can win at this, then come here and beat me at my own game, and get rid of me once and for all, and show all the people of America that I am wrong," said Limbaugh. "If you take me out, if you can wipe me out in a debate and prove to the rest of America that what I say is senseless and wrong, do you realize you will own the United States of America?"

Limbaugh also accused the White House of orchestrating an attack on him, telling his listeners that the Obama team is demonizing the radio host since Bush left office. He said the effort was being spearheaded by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who Limbaugh refers to as the "power behind the throne."

"Don't let his effeminate nature and his ballerina past mislead you on this. He may look effeminate (he was a ballerina at one time) but he has the feral instincts of a female rat defending its young," Limbaugh said.

"I'm calling. I'm ready. I'll do everything I can to facilitate it. You're a very courageous man, Mr. President. I am, after all, just The Last Man Standing," Limbaugh said.

In January, Limbaugh called on the president to sign on to his “bi-partisan” stimulus plan, which would increase government spending for roughly half the country, and cut taxes for the other half.

how much more naccessistic (sp? sorry) can this guy get. While Obama is not perfect, we are still being crippled by thwe bush admin decisions to go to war (fir the first time in history) without an increase in taxes. All you republicans wouldn't dream of pitching in to fight YOUR war against the WMD now would you!

It's Limbaugh that wants to "own all of America." and a debate stipulates that its for a purpose like an election debate, not to further rush's ratings. But fair play to him for stepping up to the plate. I say send Rahm.

President Obama doesn't need the likes of you, Rush...you may not think that you need him, but we ordinary working Americans do.
Come on, admit it. You'll feel better!

Hahaha, what a circus. Calling Rush the leader of the Republican party is a strategy that not only undermines the party but alienates it from moderates. Rush, you might be accepted as powerful icon in a room full of conservatives, but everyone else thinks your a polarizing moron.

When has Rush Limbaugh ever had an open-minded and intelligent discussion with someone who doesn't share the same right wing conservative views???

Obama will never do it. He won't be able to bring his teleprompter along and his lackeys wouldn't be able to feed answers to him quick enough. The entire time he'd just be a bumbling idiot. The man can't think for himself. From all you koolaid drinkers posting, you'd think you'd want him to do it, "put Rush in his place". Maybe the fact is that even you know Obama couldn't do it. Get the yutz outside of reading prepared statements and his ineptitude and inexperience shine.

Rush would have to make 1 concession though. On his show he claims to have 1/2 his brain tied behind his back to make it fair. If he were to debate Obama he'd have to tie off a lot more than half just to give Obama a chance.

One and done Obama, one and done.

What a lunatic! What RL doesn't understand is that most of Americans know why he is challenging Obama... the ratings, is big news, big coverage, big money for him... at the end, even if Obama crush him, Rush will have a huge victory for his show and his bank accounts.

RL doesn't understand that to have a rational discussion you need to listen, and he's not a good listener as we all know.

Who does Rush Limbaugh think he is? I mean, really. He's an ENTERTAINER. That's all he is, he thinks he's some kind of important person, when in reality, he's a talk show host and an entertainer.

I love it. All you liberal 'Fairness Doctrine' ...and... "there needs to be more liberal ideas forced onto the radio listening public, even though we can't make it in a free market'" people should welcome a debate between conservative Rush and liberal Obama. It's what you've been waiting for. It's a 'balanced' viewpoint. But now that the option is there, look what happens. You complain about Rush not being fair (who cares, Obama's so good it wouldn't matter, RIGHT?) and about Rush not being intelligent enough (um, wouldn't that mean Obama crushes him?). It's Obama's chance to silence him for good.

You win and you still whine. This just points out how pathetic you are.

Don't sink to his level, Obama. There's nothing to gain by getting in the slop with Rush.

Rush not only sounds like he has delusions of grandeur, but he also sounds paranoid. Everybody is out to get him.
He is deluded because says that if Obama beats HIM in a debate then Obama will then "own the United States of America." The clear implication that if Obama "loses" Rush will then "own" the United States. So the two of them are in competition for the top spot????

    How delusional is THAT????

Rush is an entertainer. This would be no different than the President going on the Tonight Show. The President wouldn't get anything out of this, just silly old Limbaugh. I much rather have my President spending his time on serious matters as oppose to this character.
