Limbaugh vs. President Obama

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday.

(CNN) - Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday, calling on him to visit his talk show for an "intelligent, open discussion" on issues like health care and taxes.

"If you can win at this, then come here and beat me at my own game, and get rid of me once and for all, and show all the people of America that I am wrong," said Limbaugh. "If you take me out, if you can wipe me out in a debate and prove to the rest of America that what I say is senseless and wrong, do you realize you will own the United States of America?"

Limbaugh also accused the White House of orchestrating an attack on him, telling his listeners that the Obama team is demonizing the radio host since Bush left office. He said the effort was being spearheaded by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who Limbaugh refers to as the "power behind the throne."

"Don't let his effeminate nature and his ballerina past mislead you on this. He may look effeminate (he was a ballerina at one time) but he has the feral instincts of a female rat defending its young," Limbaugh said.

"I'm calling. I'm ready. I'll do everything I can to facilitate it. You're a very courageous man, Mr. President. I am, after all, just The Last Man Standing," Limbaugh said.

In January, Limbaugh called on the president to sign on to his “bi-partisan” stimulus plan, which would increase government spending for roughly half the country, and cut taxes for the other half.

The Dems want to portray Limbaugh as the virtual leader of the GOP?

    er....wasn't that already obvious?

If Rush really wants to challenge the President's policies and really feels he knows what's best for America, then he should run for office. That way America, the country he professes to love and care for, can benefit from his wisdom. He says that President Obama is a brave man and should accept his challenge. I say that a truly brave man puts themselves in a position to take action and be held accountable if their policies don't work. Are you brave, Rush?

The President of the United States does not debate with drug addicts or people in the entertainment business for dollars.

Of course Obama won't man-up – he's all talk, no action, and stutters like turkey when confronted with unpleasant facts.

    No Teleprompter? No Chance!

Yeah, Rush Limboss would really like to have the POTUS on his show so he could loudly talk over anything he had to say. BTW, ole Rushbo is really filling a vaccuum of leadership but is putting them in a box that they cannot get out of without getting his wrath directed at them. He is calling the shots. period.

You are a disgrace to intelligent America Limbaugh, get a life, the only thing stupid our President would do is to even consider justifying your idiotic philosophy of what you think this nation should be, continue on with your show and polluting the minds of your listeners, You who are resposible for the divisive state america shoud be shame. our past heroes of the republican party Abe Lincoln and Ron Reagan don't deserve their party tainted with your dusgusting bad blood.
in the grave they will turn if you ever lead their party or even considered running. you are a disgrace to this nation and what makes me ashamed of the dark side of my country.

If the Obama team thinks they can sink Rush Limbaugh...they have an ugly, ugly reality ahead in store for them. Rush Limbaugh is not popular because Republicans elected him to anything. He is popular because he speaks FOR the people and TO the people and the millions and millions of viewers who listen agree with what he says. Obama better remember he did not win 100% of the vote. He won half. The other half are not going to be targeted and silenced without a fight.

Good Lord, Rush says if Obama can beat him in a debate over policy that Obama will "own" the United States of America. So, all Obama has to do is defeat Rush in order to have no opposition or problems? Wow, Rush, Talk about considering yourself "mega important". I think Rush does believe he is the leader.....totally, of everything.

  14. who is this guy

Why do people listen to this man...He's a man with an opinion, nothing more. He's the hot topic in politics right now, because of what reason? He disagrees, lol...Who cares. If you're a republican or democrat, please do not waste your time with this childish man. He holds no authority, no power in office...He's a fat, loud mouth man, with an opinion....Why are we focusing on him or any analyst that states their opinion....Although this is a common line on all political comments, Wake up America! things are much too serious for this playground finger pointing and name calling.

  16. O Blah Blah prefers to operate in the shadows

Obama is a shadowy person who likes to have his "operatives" do the dirty work - such is the nature of the Czar sitting on his high priced throne in DC

Why would the President want to debate this windbag? Why does CNN even deal with this garbage?

  19. Dont blame me

The fun thing about Rush is that he has company that is based in liberal Califonia of all places that counter checks his FACTS and has bedn doing so for a lot of years and that they rate Rush as being 98.9% ACCURATE on his comments.

Can anyone, I mean ANYONE in the democratic party make that claim???

I hope that Obama accepts Rush's challenge.

Ha ha...This is a perfect example of what makes Rush such a moron. His HUGELY inflated ego, and completely idiotic thought process actually allows him to think that the President of The United States would take time away from his extremely busy schedule to talk over moot points. As if the President would say.."aww forget about the economy, the housing crisis, the war in iraq, troops in afghanistan"..etc. Sorry Rush..don't think The President is going to help you get more ratings. Good try though. P.S. What the hell kind of name is Rush!???? Hmmm..kinda reminds me of Moose from The Archies comics.

I really wish the media, the White House, and everybody concerned would just drop this whole Rush Limbaugh business. It's turning into a feeding frenzy and not remotely worthy of the president's time. I mean, really??? Don't we have bigger things to worry about than getting into a pissing contest with a talk show personality? The whole idea that this is the "new voice of the Republican Party" is a little twisted...as is the fact that so many conservatives eat this stuff up as legitimate political discourse. geeez!

Can CNN and the rest of the media just stop giving him a platform? If we ignore him, maybe he will go away.

How many millions does Rush get paid to spout this stuff? Why? He has nothing to say that is helpful. This country is in trouble partly because of his nonsense and support of the X pres. Republicans need to shut him up. He makes them look stupid.
