Limbaugh vs. President Obama

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday.

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday.

(CNN) - Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday, calling on him to visit his talk show for an "intelligent, open discussion" on issues like health care and taxes.

"If you can win at this, then come here and beat me at my own game, and get rid of me once and for all, and show all the people of America that I am wrong," said Limbaugh. "If you take me out, if you can wipe me out in a debate and prove to the rest of America that what I say is senseless and wrong, do you realize you will own the United States of America?"

Limbaugh also accused the White House of orchestrating an attack on him, telling his listeners that the Obama team is demonizing the radio host since Bush left office. He said the effort was being spearheaded by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who Limbaugh refers to as the "power behind the throne."

"Don't let his effeminate nature and his ballerina past mislead you on this. He may look effeminate (he was a ballerina at one time) but he has the feral instincts of a female rat defending its young," Limbaugh said.

"I'm calling. I'm ready. I'll do everything I can to facilitate it. You're a very courageous man, Mr. President. I am, after all, just The Last Man Standing," Limbaugh said.

In January, Limbaugh called on the president to sign on to his “bi-partisan” stimulus plan, which would increase government spending for roughly half the country, and cut taxes for the other half.

@thisoldhippie. You say conservatives aren't intelligent. You must have been saying this while you were smokin your weed and downing your Valiums preaching Love your enemies! I would personally like to see Obama take on this debate on his own. Rush will make him say UMMMMMMMM so many times! I hope this little "ruse" that the Democrats thought would divert attention blows up in their faces. People are sick and tired of these games and you Liberals just need to form your own country. In fact why don't you go to Iran and preach your wisdom of Love. It is such a fact that the Liberals cannot take criticism or debates, because someone doesnt agree with them. go away.

Would someone please tell me when the Republicans was in office for 8yrs they let everything go to HELL and now they are claiming FOUL. That doesn't make any sense. If they have this problem early while in office we would not be in the mess we are in now! Now we have a New President who have been in the office over 30days who trying to clean up this mess instead of sweeping it under the carpet like the Republicans did. If you can't come up with a plan than SHUT UP!!!!

    Hey Limbaugh,

If your ranting is for real, keep it up and you'll drive a stake right into the heart of the Republican party. I'm suprised more Republican leaders are asking him to tone it down a bit. To this voter, it makes it look like these folks are quite devisive and unable to make sound decisions. That's a scary combination for any leader.

    What's Limbaugh scared of?

It's unbelievable how much the media (and the White House, for that matter) is focusing on Limbaugh. Seriously, they have to be afraid of something....

An "intelligent and open discussion" is a joke. First of all who is going to represent Rush on the "intelligence?" Second, he has shown time and time again that an open discussion to him is bad mouthing anyone that does not think like he does.
    Sounds like Pelosi and Reid

On his show..... its like inviting the Yankees to play football against the Patriots in a snowstorm in New England????

If Rush wants to be in politics let him run for office and debate by the rules!

Mr. Oxycontin Addict only wants ratings and attention because it makes him rich. He is the most egotistical pompous delusional gasbag ever. He doesn't allow guests on his show because he can't take being challenged. Limbreaker only wants to hear himself talk. This obese, deaf hate speech monologer has obviously gone psychotic to think the world revolves around him.

It's amazing how the Republican Party has fallen ....hopefully never to rise again. With Rush spouting off, it won't.

What a Crock! This is silly as h311. I have never seen so much stupidity in my life. So all the times people disagreed with a president, this is all we had to do was rant and rave and request airtime so the ratings for my defunk show would go up by more than 150%. Get Real! And what's really funny is the number of Republican Senators, Congressmen, and Governors who are sitting by silently trying to persuade the president into this. Get REAL!! What the hell do you elect people for? Why do we even have an election anymore? Rush is an idiot! I fought for this great country and this is what we have. A bunch of coward Senators, Congressmen, and Governors (Excluding Charlie Christ and Arnold), who have a bumbling idiot leading them. He is the President of the United States. He is about the peoples business and doing exactly what he said he would do. If you have a problem with it, do what Jesse Ventura did. Move to Mexico with the Drug Lords and enjoy life. You're not entitled to anything. You've made your millions. You're a joke! You turn sound bites and half comments into a foundation to mislead people. You can't even recite words from the Constitution! Why, Because you were citing the Declaration of Independence and you flipped that one up too! And people want to follow you. And yes, according to the apologies, you are the leader of your party! Michael Steele, grow a pair. You remind me of the kid who always got beat up and had to hide in the bathroom. Real men stand on principles! Your actions are a disgrace to all of our ancestors who died so you can stand up there in your punkish looking suite and carry a title with no weight!

Rush has lost it just like some of the liberals. The primaries are over Rush the conservatives lost so just expect our country to be doomed for 4 years.

If it wasn't for Obama as Prez, Rush wouldn't have this new surge in attention! He should be thanking him!

Obama can gain nothing by going on Limbaugh's show. Why boost Limbaugh's ratings? I would like to see him do it, but I just don't see it happening. In terms of intelligence, without notes, I don't see how Rush would have a chance. He would just fall back on the Republican talking points, and refuse to acknowledge when Obama is correct.

If Rush has all the answers, why doesn't he run for office?

...maybe because he wants to see the country fail.

Go to Washington and get it over with Rush. Tell them all you know. Forget the audience and approval of others thats yesterday. If you can save the country Rush there will be a bell with your name on it in Boston someday! Get it to em, if you can't do it no one can! Suck in a big breath and then blow everyone over.

    Obama can't win this.

If he ignores it, Limbaugh will declare victory and say Obama's a coward who knows Limbaugh's right.

If he accepts (which seems pretty much impossible), Limbaugh will simply attack him until he's forced to do or say something that LImbaugh will jump on as a major stumble. Not that I think Limbaugh would let him get a word in edgewise anyway.

Limbaugh and the GOP are afraid of Obama's popularity and still angry that they lost power. This is just one more bully tactic to try and regain it.

Say what you will about Bush, but he never had to get down in the mud and play his critics' game. Obama and the Democrats should be above this pathetic pettiness. Grow up and do your jobs, and let Limbaugh do his!

Who is Limbaugh? When he gets a real education and proves to be intelligent, then he might be debatable. In the meantime, President Obama needn't give him the time of day.

give me a break, like he doesn't have enough to do but talk to a drugie, the impotent – he is just a big mouth, fat idiot – and I know a few of his fans and it is not a pretty picutres: vengeful, hateful, guilable, brown noses to those above – you say CFO, lots of money and they pants are wet

Rush, shut up! It is a shame that Rush is continually seeking to divide our nation when we are facing so many critical issues. I have always been proud to be a conservative and voted a republican ticket. If this type of behavior continues in 2012 I will definitely make a change. Read my lips; we do not have time for this nonsense.
