(CNN) - Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday, calling on him to visit his talk show for an "intelligent, open discussion" on issues like health care and taxes.
"If you can win at this, then come here and beat me at my own game, and get rid of me once and for all, and show all the people of America that I am wrong," said Limbaugh. "If you take me out, if you can wipe me out in a debate and prove to the rest of America that what I say is senseless and wrong, do you realize you will own the United States of America?"
Limbaugh also accused the White House of orchestrating an attack on him, telling his listeners that the Obama team is demonizing the radio host since Bush left office. He said the effort was being spearheaded by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who Limbaugh refers to as the "power behind the throne."
"Don't let his effeminate nature and his ballerina past mislead you on this. He may look effeminate (he was a ballerina at one time) but he has the feral instincts of a female rat defending its young," Limbaugh said.
"I'm calling. I'm ready. I'll do everything I can to facilitate it. You're a very courageous man, Mr. President. I am, after all, just The Last Man Standing," Limbaugh said.
In January, Limbaugh called on the president to sign on to his “bi-partisan” stimulus plan, which would increase government spending for roughly half the country, and cut taxes for the other half.

The Journal also points out how the market took a dive after the President announced his budget. The paper called it a “declaration of hostility toward capitalists across the economy.”
A President of the United States should not go to Rush, but Rush should be invited into the White House. After all, they are both americans. It's good to reform health care, but it's must be done with the ability to lower cost through innovation. As for taxes, it's true, the rich should keep their money, but the country NEEDS them NOW. They need to pitch in and help America. Mother America needs the rich. In good times and bad times, we need to be there for each other. If I was a billionaire, I wouldnt mind chipping in to help America stay afloat.

You have got to be kidding me. Why would the President waste his time debating a radio entertainer. Get over yourself rush – your over-inflated sense of self-importance is staggering.
I've listened to rush – no one with opposing views gets past the screeners, and if they happen to slip by, rush won't let them get a word in. No thanks, no need. If this is viewed as a challenge of intellect and comprehension, rush is coming to a gunfight unarmed.
If the president has so many more important things to do, he should say so and be done with it. Instead, every White House spokesperson is invoking Limbaugh's name every chance they get. No doubt it is designed to identify he republican party with a rich, self important, white guy (they would be hard pressed to find a better target). It draws attention away from Bobby Jindal and Michael Steele (remember, all conservatives are racist white males). I read today of the White House's "Limbaugh Strategy." Once the really important work is done, how about following up with an economic strategy, an Iran strategy, or maybe an Al-Qaeda strategy?
Yeah, Obama should totally go on to the Rush Limbaugh's show to deal with his little vein attempt at setting a trap with the economy in shambles, 2 wars on (still), trying to end one of those wars, and create peace in the middle east.
Rush Limbaugh is probably using drugs again based on his comments about wanting President Obama to fail.
