Limbaugh vs. President Obama

(CNN) - Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh challenged President Obama to a verbal showdown Wednesday, calling on him to visit his talk show for an "intelligent, open discussion" on issues like health care and taxes.

"If you can win at this, then come here and beat me at my own game, and get rid of me once and for all, and show all the people of America that I am wrong," said Limbaugh. "If you take me out, if you can wipe me out in a debate and prove to the rest of America that what I say is senseless and wrong, do you realize you will own the United States of America?"

Limbaugh also accused the White House of orchestrating an attack on him, telling his listeners that the Obama team is demonizing the radio host since Bush left office. He said the effort was being spearheaded by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, who Limbaugh refers to as the "power behind the throne."

"Don't let his effeminate nature and his ballerina past mislead you on this. He may look effeminate (he was a ballerina at one time) but he has the feral instincts of a female rat defending its young," Limbaugh said.

"I'm calling. I'm ready. I'll do everything I can to facilitate it. You're a very courageous man, Mr. President. I am, after all, just The Last Man Standing," Limbaugh said.

In January, Limbaugh called on the president to sign on to his “bi-partisan” stimulus plan, which would increase government spending for roughly half the country, and cut taxes for the other half.

Why would the President of the USA lend any legitimacy to this blowhard by being on his show? It is a real stretch to imagine any intelligent discourse coming from that ignoramous' talk show. If Rush wants to talk about a man with a messiah complex all he needs to do is look in the mirror. What a schmuck!

Wow, all Obama has to do is debate you and he'll "own the United States of America"? Really? He's already the President, you idiot! You really have an inflated opinion of yourself. What a gas-bag. I hope Obama doesn't do it because you are already way too self-important, but if he does, he'll wipe the floor with you. And, I hope they bring back the Fairness Doctrine so you'll have to have someone on your show pointing out all the inaccuracies/lies you tell just to further your agenda. (Remember, everyone, he's giving his opinion and one with an agenda at that.) When he says something, if it isn't completely truthful, it's okay as long as it furthers his agenda. That would end with the Fairness Doctrine. Rush, get over yourself!!!

Where was this 50-50 stimulus plan offer when Bush was in office? I seem to remember the Republicans doing whatever they wanted.

Limbaugh can't stand it that the President is a success.

Mr Limbaugh, we the people will see the policies work. The debates happened, you lost. Better luck next time.

The President is too smart to fall for Limbaugh's trap. Mr. Obama completed all of his 'debates' before he was elected. He has no reason to climb into the ring with someone who doesn't hold a belt! LOL

Oh please – Limbaugh is not worth the breath it would take. I love his comment the Whitehouse is spearheading an attack on him after he first came out and said he hopes Pres. Obama fails. But of course the republicans will believe anything – they believed Palin (LOL)!

What is it about right wingers that makes them be jerks about EVERYTHING?

In one breath, limbaugh calls for intelligent debate, and in the next he's calling Emanuel an effeminate feral rat?

    Wow...

Mr. Limbagh, The President doesn't have time to go on your little radio show and shoot the breeze with you. He's busy doing things like, oh I don't know, RUNNING THE COUNTRY?!?

Save your bluster for your dwindling, simple-minded followers.

As an Obama supporter, I think it is a good idea. However, Limbaugh shouldn't mock Obama – that hurts whatever legitimate point, argument, or request Limbaugh makes. Besides, I'm not sure Limbaugh can restrain from the name-calling and just stick to facts for very long.

    Dear Rush

I apologize that the President of the United States will not stoop down to the gutter in which you came from. He has the American people to think about. He has a housing, banking, and an employment problem. He has things to do. So you get a LIFE.

    March 4, 2009 04:03 pm at 4:03 pm |
  22. Yeah, yeah

It would be the first guy Limbo ever debated. Debate isn't allowed on his show, only slavish worship. I'm not sure the President has time for this kind of silliness, but it might be worth it to shut up the Fatboy, if that's possible. I don't think the President would have any problem putting Rush in his place, but it should happen on a national stage, not his radio program. If Limbaugh really wants to debate, maybe he should run for the office in 2012.

OMG! Rush is feeling the pressure. Wanting to duel it out with the President. Rush is showing what a weak, desperate person he really is. Pathetic. If any of you who listen to Rush, are literate enough to be reading these blogs, take a deep breath and turn off the radio.

Rush Limbaugh is nothing more than a bully who wants to challange President Obama to a schoolyard fight. This man is getting way too much attention. Someone please put him in detention!

The President of the US does not have time to sit down with talk show hosts. Rush should be ashamed for even insinuating any President do so; it would be the same for GW Bush or any other President we have had. They are far too busy with very important things!
