DNC gets 'overwhelming response' to Limbaugh billboard proposal

Conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh received criticism from the DNC for his remarks that he hopes Obama fails.
Conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh received criticism from the DNC for his remarks that he hopes Obama fails.

(CNN) – Citing an “overwhelming response” of tens of thousands of replies, the Democratic National Committee has narrowed down its top five messages from supporters to Rush Limbaugh.

With responses like, “We can fix America, just don’t Rush it,” the DNC is asking its online backers to vote for their favorite submission. The winning slogan will be placed on a billboard in Limbaugh’s hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida where the organization says he “can’t miss it.”

The responses purportedly poured in after the DNC sent an e-mail to its supporters last week urging Democrats to “talk back” to a right-wing radio personality.

“It's up to you to let Rush know that Americans reject his desire to see President Obama - and our country – fail,” DNC Executive Director Jen O’Malley Dillon wrote in the latest e-mail.

The DNC has not announced when it plans to put up the billboard.

Why doesnt the media explain, or the DNC for that matter, that Rush stated that if Obama supports socialist policies or IF he wants to change the American way of life, then he hopes socialism fails, which means he would want Obama to fail. I watched that interview live. Politics are disgusting. Especially the spin of it all. Come on CNN. Report the facts, dont spin to fit an agenda. Hilarious, the Dems are trying to change the entire way this country has been run for a hundred years in 50 days.

Rush Limbaugh must have been talking to the Taliban or some terrorist group that we already know wants our country to fail.

RUSH is a very strange man, I cant believe that the Republicans top guy is a man who takes VICODIN including his poor latin maids, and way too much VIAGRA....There isnt enough VIAGRA or MONEY in the world to make that very strange man at all appealing ....
The billboard should read with his picture ......... "THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BECOME A REPUBLICAN"
Sometimes the simple truth is scary enough....

Come on DNC, why waste time and effort on this idiot. Just give him lots of pain killers and other drugs and let the idiot overdose on them.... and then put a slogan saying .... 'good riddance'.... lol....

Or, just leave him alone. The hate inside of him will eventually burst and he will be no more....

There is no such thing as bad publicity. This just helps Rush. The DNC, and every single politician in DC should focus on fixing our country's problems, and not this.

The MSM shamelessy prepetrates this lie.

Democrats who engage in this pettiness are proving they are nothing but as immature and vindictive as the republicans they used to complain about doing the same thing. It appears Obama's own supporters never listened to his message of hope and changing the tone but then when the one who wants the change keeps his mouth closed as well and allows these actions to continue or lets his chief of staff engage in them as well...then things will never change except which side is doing the most or loudest complaining.

The likes of Rush Limbaugh and the John McCain's and Sarah Pali's of to-day are what's wrong w/this country! They speak hate and try to distroy the good others do. The election of President Obama has made this country come together like it's never done before...people are beginning to look around and see what they can do to help others....we need to send a message to the nay sayers that we're not going to take their negativity anymore. I'm glad the election exposed the underhandedness of some of the states leadership, had it not been for the election process the folks of Alaska might have continued to think they had a governor that cared...NOT...sames as the Illinois governor...shame on them...shame on Rush limbaugh...let's put him out to pasture~

I find it very interesting how the media and Democratic Party openly hunt down Rush for his dissenting opinions–and that's all they are really, opinions. Yet, when Cindy Sheehan camped outside of Bush's ranch in Crawford, the media made her out as a heroic woman, standing up for her fallen son. What do you think the media backlash would have been if the Republican Party posted a billboard outside of Sheehan's home?

The more the Democrats and media give attention to Rush, the more fired-up the right will become. By continuing the onslaught, they are simply giving Rush more credibility with the right.

How much money is the DNC wasting on this? Do they honestly think Limbaugh is going to care? And I would think the DNC would have better things to do than return the name calling.

What a waste of money that would be. I can see why Democrats have money they are stealing it all from the hard working Americans like me to put billboards?!. Incredible that the DNC has time to fight Rush when the economy is going down in a rush...! Change anybody?

I'm not a Limbaugh supporter, nor do I consider myself a Republican or Democrat.
With that said; Why is it that CNN and Democrats don't speek truthfully about what Limbaugh said. We all know what he was talking about. He doesn't want to see the policies that he disagrees with be successful. It's obvious that's what he was talking about.
It's also obvious to the world that CNN and the Democrats don't want Republican policies they disagree with to be successful either.
Stop misrepresenting the truth for your personal agenda. It stinks!
