UNITED NATIONS (CNN) - Findings in a recent U.N. report that Iran's nuclear program "has military dimensions" are "troubling," the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Tuesday.
"Iran also still refuses to respond constructively to IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] questions about its past work to develop a nuclear weapons capability," the ambassador, Susan Rice, told a U.N. Security Council subcommittee that deals with ensuring sanctions against Iran are being enforced.
"The United States urges its fellow Security Council members not only to take note of the IAEA's serious findings but also to vigorously support the IAEA in its continuing investigations of these critical matters."
The IAEA is the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency that is charged with inspecting Iran's nuclear facilities.
Rice said Tuesday's meeting was "the Security Council's first session on Iran since the release of the IAEA director general's most recent report on Iran - a report that makes it clear that Iran is still not complying with its international nuclear obligations, including resolutions of this council."

Iran is a great country but their leaders are irrational and irresponsible.
The Iranian leaders will never listen to reason.
They will never negotiate away their rights to nuclear weapons.
They will never acknowledge isreal's right to exist.
They will never disavow terrorism.
The only way to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons is to bomb the weapons plants. The US, Europe, Isreal and the UN need to decide if it is acceptable for Iran to have nuclear weapons. If not, then they need to take the action necessary to stop it.
We should probably let Isreal to the deed here.
Thank you Cdog for putting an accurate historical context around this issue. Many Americans seem to have a five minute memory span, while the rest of the world recalls decades or even centuries of arrogance and evil we have commited. Today's world does not need another Teddy Roosevelt. We need another Woodrow Wilson. For the sake of humanity everywhere, I hope our president measures up.

And for everyone saying things like, "Give him time to fix the economy," that's not the point. The point is he's doing the same thing Bush did to get us into this mess. You can't throw money into a bottomless pit and say, "This will fix it." Cause we've all seen that it doesn't work. A bail out is a bail out and a costly war is a costly war. Regardless of what President or party does it, it's all the same wasteful attitude. Spending more billions on Citigroup and more hundreds of billions in Afghanistan is not going to solve the crisis we're in.
When was the last time Iran attacked anybody? When was the last time the United States and Israel attacked anybody. Yeah, weak and unarmed countries(Iraq and Gaza). The Iranians know that the best way to discourage a bully is with a nuke. And who can blame them.
All those in favor of attacking Iran should join the military and get a taste of what they want others to go through but wouldn't dream of doing it themselves. Graet way to thin out the gene pool.

Aaron is right!! Don't you all remember how SUCCESSFUL Jimmy Carter was using diplomacy with Iran in the 70's??
I fondly remember how dimplomatic and inept Jimmy was while Americans were bound, blindfolded, and paraded around. Gosh, maybe Obama will be the same kind of leader that underestimates our enemies too!!

We don't need to go to war with Iran or anyone else over this. Perfect example was the covert bombing of Syria's nuclear sight by Israel.
