Chuck Norris for president … of Texas

If the State of Texas ever left the Union, Chuck Norris is interested in being president of the newly independent country.
If the State of Texas ever left the Union, Chuck Norris is interested in being president of the newly independent country.

(CNN) – Actor Chuck Norris has his eyes on the presidency, but not the White House. Norris wrote that he would be interested in becoming the president of Texas, if the state were ever to secede from the Union.

“I may run for president of Texas,” Norris wrote Monday in a column posted at WorldNetDaily. “That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.”

The actor claimed “thousands of cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation” and said that if states decide to secede from the union, that Texas would lead the way.

“Anyone who has been around Texas for any length of time knows exactly what we'd do if the going got rough in America,” Norris wrote.

“Let there be no doubt about that.” Norris was a strong supporter of Mike Huckabee’s presidential bid, and he helped to draw attention to the former Arkansas governor’s campaign.

Chuck, I'm a Texan and you don't speak for me. What an idiot! Treason is a crime in the US. FBI and ICE should be investigating based on the quotes.

I guess the thinking must be if the blue states decide to split first, we'll be stuck with the rest of the South in tow. Better hurry.

So what is this, Civil War 2.0? Obama is the new Lincoln and Texas is the new south? Fringe republicans like Norris need to get over the fact that they lost, big time, in the election. They need to suck it up, act like true Americans, and move on.

So, Chuck Norris is a Confederate eh. You know what, we probably would be better off without Texas.

My God , I have watched and Loved Chuck Norris, films all my life and watch it every day on channel 4 in Italy. I am shocked to read such a message from him. Now I know he is a trainer for terrorist to separate the Union? This is the last time I watch his films. Never believed that a Texas Rangers, who spend all his life in films fighting criminal, will ever commit a Criminal act against his own Nation.

Most states would like to see the crooks in Texas be a state of their own. I would vote for that, on one condition that as soon as it happens The united states would not intervene when Mexico retakes the property that Texas took. also ALL TEXAN"S become the citizens of Mexico and George W Bush becomes the president of TEXaco. Hurry please make this a happening.

Is this guy serious? How idiotic and stupid can someone be? Shame on him for supporting rebellion. The FBI should arrest him and charge him with sedition!

To propose secession from the Union is nothing short of treason. Last time this happened, the seceded states were roundly thrashed and the Union was preserved. Chuck Norris is, at best, a dangerous lunatic. If he cannot live with the outcome of our democratic process, perhaps he should find another country to live in.

Yes, Chuck Norris and Todd Palin are basically terrorist..... and they'll get away with their rhethoric because they're republicans.
Republicans can say and do anything they want – no matter how bad or disgraceful.
    I call them disgusting.

“thousands of cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation”

In other words, 2,000 groups of a couple of dudes, if that. That's 4,000 people.

LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT, JERK.

This is the exactly the same justification that Osama bin Laden, Mohamed Atta and others gave for attacking the United States on September 11, 2001.

They didn't like what America was doing.

There is no difference between Chuck Norris and his "cells" and al Qaeda and their "cells": They all want to bring down the United States.

I can see Kinky Friedmann as the President of Texas, but Chuck Norris?

With the exception of Ronald Reagan, Republicans have not done well as politicians. Chuck is no Ronald Reagan. Republicans do seem to have a recent talent for comedy, something regrettable for the Grand Old Party.

Texas is the only state that entered the union with a treaty between independent Republics. It may legally secede. I doubt the USA would go to war over it especially if the treaty were upheld by the supreme court which does tend to interpret contracts and treaties literally.

Chuck Norris for president of anything has to be a joke. It's people like him and Norris, Tom DeLay and George W. Bush that gives Texas a bad name. The good folks in Texas should run them out of their state. Maybe Mexico would take them...........Nah!

Let me get this straight: If the going got rough, Texans would leave. Nice sentiment. A few steps away from a call for succession and, treason.

What an idiot! Now we have one more infamous resident to be ashamed of. All we need now is for Palin to move here with her 10, 000 illegitimate grandchildren and put them on food stamps.
