(CNN) – Actor Chuck Norris has his eyes on the presidency, but not the White House. Norris wrote that he would be interested in becoming the president of Texas, if the state were ever to secede from the Union.
“I may run for president of Texas,” Norris wrote Monday in a column posted at WorldNetDaily. “That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state.”
The actor claimed “thousands of cell groups will be united around the country in solidarity over the concerns for our nation” and said that if states decide to secede from the union, that Texas would lead the way.
“Anyone who has been around Texas for any length of time knows exactly what we'd do if the going got rough in America,” Norris wrote.
“Let there be no doubt about that.” Norris was a strong supporter of Mike Huckabee’s presidential bid, and he helped to draw attention to the former Arkansas governor’s campaign.

Treason, please, what do you people know all that CNN tells you. read a history book or go to school. Texas is the only state that can be self sufficient. No other state produces enough oil, energy. we have farms, for fruits and veggies, PLENTY of cows, mostly all of the manufacturing will be ok. The port of houston and at corpus will be fine. It will hurt the rest of america to not have those ports available. Kudos to Mr. Norris. At a time when things are going rough in the country, his is the lone Republican that has come up with an original idea that may actually help the U.S.

Luckily, there are lots of viewpoints in TX, and his idea of secession would definitely be in the minority.
Texas may have voted "red" (55-45%) in this past national election, but our roots are blue, and we're coming back to our roots! I speak for many in our great state when I say that we support our President, pray for his success in healing our nation's woes, and look forward to a brighter future.

I'm no big fan of Mr.Norris, but he speaks for many of us who believe that government at all levels is self serving and corrupt beyond repair. I lost getting my 2 granddaughters back from the because I didn't have any money to hire a lawyer to fight back.
I sent certified letters to dave syverson, dave winters, and Blagojevich.
Only one bothered to respond. My understanding of our government is that, from the president on down, they are all civil servants who only job is to serve the people. obviously that has not been happening for a long time.

Actually for all you idiots out there, texas decided to become a part of the united states on several conditions, one of which was the right to suceed from the U.S. at any time it chose. Also its the only state allowed to fly its state flag even with the U.S. flag. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time and the way the government is growing and taking away our freedoms, its about time we took a stand and took our nation back.
