(CNN) – The Council of Fashion Designers of America will honor Michelle Obama with a special style award, the group announced Monday.
The CFDA said it is giving Obama a special tribute for her “inspiration and commitment to American fashion,” and will establish a grant in her name that will be given to a new fashion company.
Obama isn’t the only first lady to be honored by the organization: the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis received the same award in 1994.

She is beautiful!
Oh good, another Michelle Obama fashion update. It's been a few hours since the last one. I'm glad to see she is still being celebrated for mimicking the J Crew catalogue. What an inspiration. Excuse me while I vomit.
GREAT choice. First Lady Michele Obama is truly a fashion icon. She's beautiful, refreshing and very healthy and TONED. I would love to have her toned arms and legs!!! LOL.
I also appreciate the fact that she's bringing "fresh and healthy" back into the White House. She's planning on putting in a garden in the White House that grows fresh herbs, veggies and fruits!! I think this is EXACTLY what our White House should be promoting. The fact that the First Lady is promoting healthy eating habits and using FRESH foods whenever possible in the kitchens at the White House is to be commended. We've become a nation of JUNK FOOD JUNKIES and it's killing us.
She is a brilliant, well-educated, lawyer and we've reduced her to this.
It's pathetic.
She is a very beautiful woman and she is a good role model for young girls everywhere.
What a beauty, Michelle is! As long as she is active in carin' for common people in an unobtrusive way, she is the heroine.
Besides for giving the First Lady her own clothing line, she should be the spokesperson for J. Crew. I know their retail sales must have went up since she became First Lady.
