Gore penning new climate change book

The former vice president is set to release 'Our Choice' in November.

The former vice president is set to release 'Our Choice' in November.

(CNN) – Al Gore said Tuesday he's writing another book on global warming policies and solutions.

The former vice president is set to release "Our Choice" in November. Gore's latest read will be a followup to his 2006 bestseller "An Inconvenient Truth," serving as a "blueprint" providing solutions to the climate crisis.

"'An Inconvenient Truth' reached millions of people with the message that the climate crisis is threatening the future of human civilization and that it must and can be solved," Gore said in a statement. "Now that the need for urgent action is even clearer with the alarming new findings of the last three years, it is time for a comprehensive global plan that actually solves the climate crisis. 'Our Choice' will answer that call."

As he did with the earnings from "An Inconvenient Truth," Gore said he will will donate all the proceeds from the eco-friendly book to his foundation, the Alliance for Climate Protection.

It's time to get "environmentalism" declared as the new religion that it is and get it banned from schools.

ManBearPig!!!!!, Henry Miller and specially Neutralizer – The question is not if there is a Global Warming or not, but if it is man-made or just a cyclical event on this old planet of ours. It's not scare tactics, pure paranoia or rebuking of scientific facts. It is happening.
Neutralizer please tell us WHERE you get the info that 'Ice caps are not melting they're growing', cause I like to know who (besides you) hasn't heard or believes in the PROVEN FACT that somewhere from now to 2050 the North Pole will become navigable in the Summers. The so called permafrost (ice that last more than six years) is diminishing year after year. Everywhere there's proof that the ice caps are melting.
And please people, stop the nonsense about 'If there's a Global Warming why there's still Winter?'. The seasons exist due to the Earth's inclination towards the Sun, so as long as there's inclination there will be summers and winters.

Ok. Now he calls it "climate change". Now Gore has all bases covered just in case. Especially if it starts getting colder. That will be a call for crises also. It is so true. Climate Change is the new religion of the left.

Maybe in this book he will emphasize the role that our diet choices have upon our environment. According to a UN Report, "Livestock's Long Shadow", close to 18% of all green house gas emissions come from the livestock industry, more than the world's transportation industry.
Why hasn't he been discussing this? The environmental impact of a plant-based diet is a fraction of that of a meat based terms of pollution, water and land usage, and green house gas emissions.

I never once beleived all the rhetoric about Obama not being an American born citizen, but I think Al Gore might be a madman Canadian enviromentalist in hiding.

    Al, Take a seat.

Everyone knows the earth was in an ICE AGE about 10,000 years ago. The world, in general, has been warming ever since.

Recently, the earth has been cooling since about 2000.

I can tell from all of the comments by the anti-Gore, deny global warming crowd, that it's much more convenient for the conservatives to stick their collective heads in the sand, and continue to destroy the planet (and rake in the bucks while doing so).....

Wow... what's with all the Climate Change deniers? Is it lunch break at the loony bin?

Al Gore has done more in the way of global service than most of us will in our lifetimes. If you can't respect his cause or his message, at least show some respect for someone who is actually trying to improve the world we live in, rather than exploit it.

What happened to Global Warming? Oh wait–if the Earth starts cooling than "Global Warming" won't work. So, let's change the catchphrase to "Climate Change". We'll be able to make money no matter WHAT happens during the planet's normal cycle of heating and cooling.

Oh, and by the way, the best way to remove Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere is to PLANT MORE PLANTS! Remember photosynthesis from elementary school science? Don't think that has changed.....

He sure is making a fortune off of this garbage. Almost seems like a big con. I am sure he is just doing it for the good of the Earth though.

I thought that I typed a bit to post but it seems that CNN is persnickety today. Our old buddy Gore needs to put up or shut up. His mansion burns more fuel, etc., in one day that any 10 of us do in one year! I cannot believe this overinflated egotistical idiot can garner any press! Oh, I forgot about the dems. He apparently has their ear!

Why doesn't this jerk fade away into the sunset and leave us alone!!!! We had the coldest winter in years here in NorthernFlorida. I don't buy global warming for one New York second. The man put his star on this global warming and ran with it and there were enough jerks on the Nobel Prize Award to reward him and others in the media to praise him. I wouldn't read the book if it were given to me. Go away, Al Gore, as all previous vice presidents have done - crawl in a hole somewhere far away.

Well posts here don't reflect very well on humanity's chances of solving the climate crisis. I suspect none of you here really understand the mechanism by which global warming occurs, how the Earth's climate is not a simple linear system, but a complex differential one. Pumping more carbon dioxide into our thin atmosphere can and has trapped in extra heat. That extra heat modifies this system. Mean global temperature over the past several decades has increased, is continuing to increase, and we are seeing the effects everywhere- The north pole, the acidification of our oceans due to the extra carbon dioxide it has been absorbing, releases of large quanities of methane that was trapped under our ocean due to subtle warming, etc, etc, etc. Frankly, you all sound like a bunch of idiots.

BTW- is there some crazy right-wing forum where you all gather and coordinate attacks on stories such as this one?

Al Gore is still selling his snake oil. He is a promoter not a scientist and is promoting carbon credits, his project after he was removed from the political arena. Let have a real objective debate with scientists from both sides of the spectrum before we draw any definitive conclusions and start imposing costly economic solutions. Afterall, that is the basis for the scientific method.
