WASHINGTON (CNN) – Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm said she won't apologize to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for her crack at last weekend's Gridiron Dinner that the former Republican vice presidential candidate "really set back the cause of hot governors."
At the exclusive Washington dinner on Saturday, which was packed with top elected officials, Granholm also used the quip to needle Pennsylvania's governor. "You know where I'm coming from, Ed Rendell," she said.
A Michigan reporter asked Granholm if she planned to apologize to Palin, according to a Tuesday report in the Detroit News.
"No," Granholm said. "It was all in good fun."
Despite positive reviews for her comedy routine, Granholm said the she was a bit out of her element in the role.
"I'm not a stand-up. It was a bit of a stretch for me," she said.
Granholm played the role of Palin in Joe Biden's vice presidential debate prep sessions last year.

Palin set back the cause all of humanity, not just governors.
Palin set back not only hot governors, but women around the world. She is undereducated to hold a high level position, preaches one thing but does another, has a run-around daughter quite happy that Obama extended the CHIP program so her out of wedlock baby has health care and so many others.
Hot or not, in politics, it's what comes out of your mouth. Palin bruised women in every aspect of public service. This was not a Dem – Rep thing.
Hey-where is there anywhere in the story that Palin even heard about the joke, let alone wanted an apology!?? Stop making news out of nothing...private dinner, joke about a rival...THIS IS NOT NEWS..you are creating the illusion of controversy and everyone is falling for it!
Not an issue I care about enough to comment on. Kind of shocked that so many people want to attack or defend on something so trivial.
But America has become obsessed with trivia and China beats the hell out of us.

She is dead on and has nothing to apologize for. Speaking of apologies though: of course it is none of my business what Republican Governors (hot or otherwise) dicuss. I think that maybe, given the recent seizmic events in Alaska that Bobbie Jindal owes Palin an apology for complaining about volcano watching..... just keep'n it real dog.
Sadly the comment from Granholm is more truth than humor.
Palin gets what she evokes.She alone is responsible for all the jokes, the criticism, and in some cases the intense dislike.
In reality, Palin is a woman with below average intelligence but with a talent for bluffing that exceeds most.
In Alaska we are tired of having a mediocre and immature governor.She seriously needs to go.

I salute Governor of Michigan for who she is and what she has accomplished personally and as a public servant. The lady has smart brains!!!! she was an attorney, that means she had some good college prep for that and only smart ones make it that far, Palin is good looking but her brains need a lot of work she is slow learner, not academically smart like Jennifer. Palin is Young she can take an online degree course to boost herself, she should not just seat back baking cookies and yapping republican slogans. She needs to move a step further, Does she know how many women would want to have an opportunity to continue education but lack funds?? She has the funds she can enroll in online program to advance her academic Rainbow.
Palin better get ready, especially if she still has plans for 2012. Ha!
If the roles were reversed, the media would make this an absolute scandal, and would keep repeating the story until Palin apologized.

Not that its completely relevant here...but, Palin should never say that she is a victim of sexism. Palin blinked like a childish flirt during the VP debates, and had suggestive body language (rubbing her knee/leg) when meeting with the Prime Minister of Afghanistan when the UN was in session last year. Not to mention that it is not really culturally appropriate to meet a Prime Minister of a Middle Eastern Country while bared-legged.
The woman is not competent. She may be bright, but she is not competent.
There was no mention of Palin ever ASKING for an apology. Just a stupid MI reporter. I'd rather have an apology for the inference that Granholm is one of the "hot Governors" whose cause was set back.
