(CNN) - The Democratic National Committee is taking aim at former Bush adviser Karl Rove.

The DNC released a scathing Web ad Thursday blasting Rove for a his recent comments calling President Obama an "arrogant guy."

In a 40 second spot titled "Pot. Kettle. Black.," the DNC slammed the former presidential adviser and the policies of the Bush administration, highlighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the current national economic crisis as products of his time in office.

Watch: DNC web ad "Pot. Kettle. Black."

"Karl Rove calls Obama arrogant – really," the text on screen shows.

"Karl, Did You Forget ..."

Statements such as: "mission accomplished, we'll be greeted as liberators, Bin Laden: dead or alive," and "two unfinished wars," and "worst economic crisis in decades" were sandwiched between sound bites of Rove saying "I've always said I think he's kind of an arrogant guy."

"Pot. Kettle. Black.," the text reads as the ad closes.

Many if not most Americans do not even have a passport – this being the case, surprisingly for a very large population, very few actually ever travel/work/live abroad.

Karl Rove was a mastermind of propaganda in the Bush Administration. When times were bad during the past 8 years, all they had to do was turn up the terror meter on the 7pm news and many people believed anything that the Bush regime proclaimed.

He was a Goebbels figure or at least one of many in the former administration. For him to call President Obama arrogant is surprising. Karl Rove nor Dick Cheney could ever be elected President.

E.C.Coleman   March 26th, 2009 11:03 pm ET

WHERE IS MY COMMENT, CNN?
CAN'T HANDLE OBAMA CRITICISM?

E.C.Coleman   March 26th, 2009 11:00 pm ET

Speaking of 'arrogant'.............why don't the Dems take a long, hard look at the man who is the worst president in history?
the egotistical jerk who they call, 'the chosen one?'
Did anyone notice the audacity of Obama's arrogance in that absurd press conference after his speech? the adacity of hope????
Obama was angered and a pitiful example of a level-headed leader.
Obama thinks he's an emperor or king; he does not conduct himself like the elected leader of the greatest democratic nation of the world.
Obama does not set a good example, nor does he or his press secretary 'Gibbs,' who tries to play 'defense' and the 'big bad bully.'
This entire administration of 'advisors' is like watching a damned soap opera at 2 p.m. every afternoon.
It's time for the advisors to STOP THE CAMPAIGN!

steve b   March 26th, 2009 10:58 pm ET

Let me see, how is the score card when Carl Rove is at bat.

Carl 2
Dems 0

and the DNC wants a piece of this guy

E.C.Coleman   March 26th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

There is NO PERSON who is More Arrogant than Press Secretary Gibbs, who is the most sarcastic and stupid man in D.C.
This is the man who O chooses as 'his press secretary?'
How can the Democrats have the cheek to utter a word against Karl Rove?
Gibbs is the nastiest, most cunning idiot on the obama team of ignorant advisors.
Please.
At least Karl Rove knows the English Language.
Why hasn't the 'Media' call obama on his incorrect English and verb tense?
Why? Afraid of the almighty O?

J. Carlson   March 26th, 2009 10:51 pm ET

We are always in danger of making a self-diagnosis when we criticize others. In other words, it takes one to know one.

lizzz   March 26th, 2009 10:48 pm ET

I agree with Colin– doesn't democratic party leadership have anything better to do than flog a dead horse? I am a democrat saying this too. We've got some great leadership decisions being made in the white house these days– how bout we focus on that?? Rove is a nobody.

dave bryant   March 26th, 2009 10:46 pm ET

Sad to say but tactics like this ad have become necessary. Take a look at the last 8 years. Anybody that did not walk in lock step with the GOP was run out of town on a rail. How many people were subjected to a full scale smear campaign when they tried to bring to light the truth about the lies to war we were fed? Remember the term swift boat? These days if you don't get down and dirty and roll around in the same sewers as your opponent, you will not achieve victory. It is a battle that has to be fought in the alleys and mud because that is where your enemy lives! Oh wait wasn't that kind of what Cheney told us about fighting the terrorists? I guess the pansy democrats learned a few lessons after all.

Mississippi Mike   March 26th, 2009 10:40 pm ET

It's a brilliant idea to attack someone who is a non-player. The Democrats are scrambling to find a villain to distract voters from how lousy the presidency and congress are doing. It's not going to work for long, these attempts are very transparent.

Squigman   March 26th, 2009 10:34 pm ET

Here is a prime example of why Republicans are out of office, and may have trouble getting in ever again. If I could ask the GOP higher ups one question I'd ask the following. Why does your party attract the lunitic fringe? I doubt anyone with little more than a middle school education would listen to this tool.

Michigander   March 26th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

Arrogant? Obama? My sister says that all the time, but she listens to Rush and Hannity all day. When I see Obama, I do not see arrogance. I see grace, humility, intelligence and a genuine sense of caring about humanity.
Now, Rove, Rush, Sean, Beck, Bush, Cheney–these are the arrogant ones. I heard Rove tonight warning about the Dems "power grab during the crisis." This from the guy who invented the extension of executive power to totally ignore the Constitution, international law, and basic human rights. And just how much power can you 'grab' in nine short weeks anyhow? But keep talking, I'm sure there are still a few misguided Republicans listening to you until you're sent to jail.

Carmine Abbattiello   March 26th, 2009 9:06 pm ET

The current crop of GOP leaders has got some of the most detestable characters who ever went into politics and "political entertainment". And most Americans do hate them. All Obama has to do is not be like them to be loved! I've really never seen anything like it, but then I'm not old enough to have lived through the Great Depression. This GOP-produced Great Recession is quite enough for me. Thanks George and Dick!

Too bad inbreeding has to happen.

The democrats are only showing how petty and sensitive to criticism they are. These are the same people who said "we won, we get to write the bill". If that isn't arrogant, what is? It certainly isn't the bipartisanship their leader promised the country. Then again, he hasn't really filled any of his promises.

mike   March 26th, 2009 8:22 pm ET

Arrogant? I say to you, get out of my face!

kmichaels   March 26th, 2009 8:14 pm ET

Well, if one were intellectually honest they would have to conclude that Obama is extremely arrogant. Again, the truth is the truth no matter if you dont like it.

As to Rove, I love to see him get under the pink panties of the cry-baby leftists. And apparently he did it again.

As to Obama, bar none, the worst president we have ever seen. And the day is still young, so to speak.

And here is the list of lies that the leftists managed to come up with about that Rove supposedly stated. Hmmm. There are none. Yep leftists do tend to gripe but they come up short on evidence.

Obama deficit spending is equal to or greater than adding all presidents sing Washington together. Now that is a shocker. True indeed but leftists dont seem to notice much. They are too busy living in la-la land.

I guess Hopey Dopey Obama cant stand the heat so they send out their attack dogs routinely. I love seeing Obama having won an election but still coming out like he is operating out of weakness. But then, Obama truly is weak. He does not stand for anything sound. His beliefs are truly established upon sand.

And I laugh at the idiots supporting Obama. Nothing in their life will improve because of Obama. Other than they are happy that he got elected. Then they end up drooling over him for a while. Then they realize nothing much has changed.

Glennis   March 26th, 2009 8:12 pm ET

Is this what the Democrats do with their time now during what they claim is a catastrophic economic meltdown? Or are they merely trying to draw attention away from their disastrous agenda and hope people won't notice they're being sold down the river?

rider   March 26th, 2009 8:12 pm ET

Are we not allowed to question the President's policies?
Obama doe's seem arrogant when asked a tough question.
The media has been coddling him for the last three years, and he doesn't seem to like when someone questions his judgement.

How dare we have a different opinion about any subject!

Fitz in Texas   March 26th, 2009 8:09 pm ET

Democrats are notorious about not learning the lessons of history. They will break the bank in an attempt to defeat Sarah Palin in 2010, and Geraghty says it will likely produce the same results as their campaign to destroy Jeb Bush. Geraghty links to Larry Sabato, who predicts that Palin, if she indeed decides to run for reelection in Alaska, will hold the office for the Republicans. Though her approval rating at home is down because of her campaign as the GOP vice presidential candidate, the governor still has strong numbers (well over 60 per cent).

Oh please dems, waste your time and money.

It is just like your party to project what you are/haven been doing onto other people. Losers? I'll direct you to the 2006 and 2008 elections.

Since you feel like talking, why don't you ask your party leaders (Boehner, Cantor, Pence) why they didn't come up with a concrete, detailed budget today like they said they would?

Shouting out words like liberal, socialist, and communist every time you don't agree with a Democratic policy is not going to cut it. What do you and your party stand for? What is your plan for economic prosperity and foreign policy success? Once you answer those 2 questions then share it with Karl Rove. He'll need plenty of reading material in prison.

Surge   March 26th, 2009 6:56 pm ET

Let me guess: 'arrogant' is some sort of republican racist code?

Patriot Guy   March 26th, 2009 6:55 pm ET

Rush Limbaugh and Karl Rove. What would the DUMB-A-CRATS do without them. Have you noticed how the DUMB-A-CRATS always have to have a BOOGIE MAN at which they can point their hypocritical little fingers. I guess it's easier than finding something good to say about themselves. LOSERS!!

Colin   March 26th, 2009 6:54 pm ET

Good lord, what a waste. Rove is yesterday's news. To actually respond to a personal comment like "he's arrogant" is just idiotic. What's the point??

TRUTH   March 26th, 2009 6:52 pm ET

CARL ROVE LIED THE WHOLE EIGHT YEARS HE WAS IN OFFICE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. HE ALSO PLAYED THE FEAR CARD AND CONTINUES TO USE THE ILLUSION AND DECEPTION GAMES ON THE REPUBLICAN NEWS CHANNEL FOX NEWS. THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE ON TO THIS GAME AND WILL NOT SUPPORT THIS SAD REPRESENTATIVE OF AMERICAN HISTORY THAT BROUGHT THIS COUNTRY TO ITS ECONOMIC KNEES.
