Somebody has to say something just to hear their voice and attempt to raise their importance.

Our troops in Iraq are probably feeling a little bit forgotten and confused. Our minds are on the economy and political infighting (not to mention Levi Johnston and Bristol Palin!). President Obama went where he felt he needed to go. Leave it alone. Jeez, the guy can't win with you guys!

Give me a break... if he went to Afghanastan, they would have said he should have gone to Iraq. He wanted to thank the solders for all their efforts and encourage them to hang in there .....this thing is finally coming to an end. They deserved that visit. Afhananistan is not as stable so it would not be wise for him to go there now. It does not surprise me that the same "No No" people criticize once more. This was a trip that enhanced our image in the eyes of our allies which we need. You did not see the burning of the flag and it was good to see our president welcome in all those countries. Get a life and realize just what he has accomplished.

When they run for president and win, then they can go to Afghanistan first.

You can't please everyone all of the time. I think Obama's visit to see troops in a combat zone was a nice touch. I don't think it's up to professional commentators to decide which combat zone he should have gone to first. He would be complaining that Obama didn't visit any troops in either Afghanistan or Iraq if Obama hadn't gone to either country.

Maybe Obama should have split himself in two and visited both at the same time to not snub anybody. Even then, he would have only been half there for each place so someone would complain...

I voted for Obama and he represents the U.S,, I am happy that he visited Iraq and next he will visit Afghanistan. Now, the media is trying to tell the President what to do so what is next for the bias media?

It has become OBVIOUS to the world that to the rethuglicans President Obama can do no right. How someone can take a beautiful and heartfelt gesture as his visit to Iraq surely was and turn it into something negative is disgusting! Also, did they ever think that the security issues in afghanistan didn't allow for the President of our country to visit????

President Obama was correct to visit Iraq. The soldiers needed to see and hear him. Also, had he been so close and not visited the right wingers would have had a field day. I think all of the soldiers were very happy he visited. It was reflected on all of their faces.

Wow...For some...this man can do nothing right.

Who would have thought a President getting bashed for visiting one theatre of troops over another.

I hate the American Press with a white-hot passion.

I strongly disagree with Mr. Ghosh about President Obama needing to visit our troops in Afghanistan before visiting out troops in Iraq. I think he needed to thank our troops in Iraq for what they have done and personally meet with the prime minister to support and encourage him to move forward with taking responsibility for his own country. Hopefully this will free up some resources for the struggle in Afghanistan. First things first! The President will have plenty of time to visit our troops in Afghanistan and meet with leaders there and in Pakistan, but it is too soon. His policies for both nations needs time to be fleshed out before his first visit. The President is right and Mr. Ghosh is wrong on this one.

Blah blah blah!!!! Wanna be famous and capture a few minutes of spotlight? Simple!!! Just voice a silly negative opinion of something Obama did even if you have no rational basis for it and voila, instant bobblehead interview on the morning news!

Seriously, this guy is an idiot. Obama's visit to Iraq was even getting kudos from GOPers.

Hey, Ghosh, Obama owns this war as Bush owned the war that Clinton authorized in 1998. I know that it's clear that you haven't read anything at all about the Iraq LIberation Act, but it's there, and it's being enforced.

It's also clear that you didn't read the Iraq War Authorization, either.

By the way, Ghosh, what do you think of the current Somali mess that we are involved in with that ship under U.S. registry being attacked?

Does Obama own that, too? Even after going down on his knees in front of the world?

And you are the Senior Editor of Time?

When are folks of your political stripe going to learn that if you voluntarily fall on your knees in front of your enemy, that your enemy will do their best to make sure you stay there?

If Obama had visited Afghanistan, he would have gotten criticized for not visiting Iraq after a car bomb killed nine people just a couple days before his visit signaling a possible increase in violence. Please, Admiral Mullen is already in the Afghan region and can provide a detailed report on what’s going on to the White House. Obama did the right thing by going to Iraq and sending a positive message to the troops.

I'm sure our soldiers in Iraq disagree. Btw, is Bobby Ghosh in charge of President Obama's security? Maybe the secret service advised him that Afghanistan wasn't defensible.

The troops are probably glad to hear and see Obama in person. At least he didn't go there to announce " Mission Accomplished". I hope our military comes home soon. They have been helping the Iraqis long enough. Time for them to stand up for themselves! I will always support our troops, but I will never support a phony war!!! Hear me, Cheney!

The President will have plenty of time to go to Afghanistan to see the troops, but a lot of these troops in Iraq are on their way home (thank God) and it was maybe their last opportunity to see and hear the President personally. I believe the President made the right choice.

He shoulda done this... he shoulda done that.... ENOUGH! No matter what the President does there will be insignificant Monday morning quarterbacks who will criticize him.
He is doing an amazing job at restoring America's name and image internationally, considering the damage done by the previous administration. YES! I SAID IT!

Americans did not elect Bobby Ghosh to the Presidency. Bobby, just go about your business of editing the magazine and leave the job of President to the man who was elected! THANK YOU!!!
