    @ Jjoe

This is what President Obama said himself to the troops in Iraq:

"You've kept your eyes focused on just doing your job and because of that, every mission that's been assigned, from getting rid of Saddam to reducing violence to stabilizing the country to facilitating elections, you have given Iraq the opportunity to stand on its own as a democratic country. That is an extraordinary achievement and for that you have the thanks of the American people," he said.

Sounds like he thinks it was a success.

Iraq has been a major issue for years. This meant alot to the troops who are now on their 2nd or 3rd tour. Lets not get caught up in our petty differences. So Bobby stop grasping for straws....it's getting old.

It only makes sense that he went to IRAQ first because W made it safe for him to visit since the surge worked. He can't go Afghanistan because it's still unsafe and he might get in the line of fire. On second thought, he should have gone to Afghanistan first.

Whatever the President does is wrong so what is the use of trying to do anything. The answer is if he does nothing he is wrong and if he does something he is wrong. Keep doing what you are doing Obama for he is the country's President regardless if you voted for him or not. What you crazy foolish people who are complainting should be doing is praying and supporting. Give the United States Of America a break you foolish people who are doing nothing but finding fault .Go off someplace and die because as far as we are concern you are dead and all the things you find wrong with Obama is the exact things that are wrong with you. The men that are complainting which are most of you that write on these comments are short , fat , uneducated , and small all over . For men who has big mouths are small everywhere and you know just where I am referring to. Get a life and start supporting and stop player hating.

After watching the well received visit of Barack Obama to the troops in Iraq and hearing them cheer him on as he told the world what everyone in the United States and Iraqi government already know: we need to start withdrawing troops and let them take control of their own security,
I conducted an experiment. I turned on talk radio today and listened to the pigs bash the troops who praised him during this visit.
No I am not kidding. Their anger toward America's prosperity and its institutions that do not fit their generally irrelevant and ret@rded ideological views were immediately drawn toward those troops in Iraq that they supposedly support.
This is sickening. I'm asking those who take conservative talk radio seriously to take a look in the mirror and realize what a pathetic waste of space you are.

Who has the courage to do what he is doing now? Don't just stand-by and watch and wait for any mishap to happen to Prez. Non-sense critics won't last. Like many of those controversial moments during the campaign. Were they lasting for long? NO

Visiting Iraq certainly makes more sense since he was already in Turkey and it was a morale booster for the troops in Iraq.

Obama shouldn't visit Afghanistan until we have hammered out a plan for that country (after seven years of Bush not having a plan, this will take some time).

    Know what's strange?

There were valid reasons to bash Bush. The guy was utterly incompetent.

I haven't seen a single valid reason for anyone to bash Obama. The guy has to undo all the damage Bush did, and that might take the next 8 years. He's working on the problems. That's a heck of a lot more than Bush ever did.

How come the news is not reporting Obama bowing and kissing the ring of the King of Saudi Arabia??? NO president should ever bow or kiss the ring of a foreign country. Who is teaching the President and 1st lady on how to handle themselves when meeting the heads of state of foreign countries. Embarassing.

Wrong decision to go there, that depends. Did he go there to praise the troops or kiss more muslim asses and apologize for the big bad USA

Let me guess. You're one of those paranoid republicans who listens to Fox news everyday and thinks Americas the greatest thing in the world, and is afraid of Obama because people tell you to be. Bush screwed us, starting two wars, and yes, things like 9/11 were serious and demanded repercussions, but not a war on an two entire country's. USA isn't the strongest country in the world anymore, and some could argue it never was, but its about time someone apologized for the hundreds of thousands of lives lost because of our mistakes. Perhaps if we'd gone into Iraq and Afghanistan on real reasons and with definite plans we wouldn't have an out of control guerrilla war that by no means were the men and women in the US military prepared to fight, and the soldiers in many other military's that we forced to come with us. Our mistakes, it should be our job to fix them, and someones finally doing it. Good for Obama

Now I see why this Bobby guy never gets prime time on CNN....what a foolish thought from him and pretty much not worth the reporting! So nevermind the location of his last meeting in Turkey, which was basically next door to Iraq....Food for Thought Bobby, use common sense when thinking up your next story, if there is one!!!

This is such a petty story. Your President just spent a gruelling week bringing back honour and respect to your country and you are trying to pick at his accomplishments He is trying to wind down the Iraq war so he probably needed to talk to the leaders there plus he also wanted to thank the troops. What is the problem with that? He will go to Afghanistan at an appropriate time. It doesn't matter what great things he does there are several fanatical critics who will criticize everything anyway. Pres. Obama and his administration know what they are doing. Just be thankful he is your president. You don't know how lucky you are.

He should have gone to both but I am sure that there is some logistics that would make that difficult. Since the critics know that they were quick to jump on him for not visiting one or the other.

Tim: Obama went to Iraq so that he can get credit for the victory. You know, the victory he declared loast last summer. Anyone who thinks is anything more than that is a tool.

    VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now that's funny!!!!!!!!!!
