Johnston appeared on CBS Wednesday, his second national TV interview this week.

(CNN) – The war of words between the families of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Levi Johnston doesn't appear to be letting up.

In an interview with CBS, Johnston sharply refuted the Palins' claim he was lying about being permitted to live with onetime fiancé Bristol Palin, and suggested the Palin family is now essentially treating him as an outcast.

"I'm just trying to get my side of the story out there and letting people know who I am," he said in the interview with CBS that aired Wednesday, adding that the biggest misconception about him is "probably that my family is white trash."

In the interview, his second national television sit-down in the last week, Johnston also said his relationship with Bristol Palin began to go deteriorate when Sarah Palin returned to Alaska after the presidential election in Alaska.

"I think when she got back is when it went downhill," he said. "They don't think of me the same way anymore."

Johnston also said he was "heartbroken" when the relationship ended but added "I got an amazing little boy out of it."

Johnston's sister Mercede, also taking part in the interview, was even harsher in her assessment of the Palins, saying they are downright "snobby."

"Look what they are doing," she said. "They are lying trying to save themselves. They are the ones that asked for it. They brought him to the campaign. They should have known what was coming."

In a statement issued earlier this week, Palin family spokesman Meghan Stapleton said Johnston and his family are on a "quest for fame, attention, and fortune."

The Johnstons say they have not been compensated for any of their media appearances.

I'm not a Palin fan at all. However, I believe that Levi should have kept the situation a private family matter. Instead of giving TV interviews about the situation. It's beginning to look like a Jerry Springer episode..

Rebecca   April 8th, 2009 12:12 pm ET

What kind of "man" talks about his personal love life in public anyway? As far as that shows, he is white trash!

pam Eugene OR   April 8th, 2009 12:10 pm ET

I feel very bad for both Levi and Bristol, not to mention their very young son.
Levi was used and discarded after the failed McCain/Palin political fiasco.
Please Levi, get your education and take care of your son.
Plain needs to stop picking on this young man and using her position to intimidate him. Her ambitions have ruined tow young live. She should be very ashamed of herself.
I hope she is voted out of public so her remaining children can not be used as props.

Jean   April 8th, 2009 12:08 pm ET

Lets see, the boy is a dropout and unemployed.

Levi can't understand why he is not allowed to take Tripp over to his house.

Would he have anything to do with Levi's mother being a drug addict and facing 6 felon charges.

No that is not why.

Levi grew up and get back to school and get a job you punk.

jess   April 8th, 2009 12:07 pm ET

They used him plain and simple. It amazes me that people still like this woman. She is so obvious and not very bright. She is so obsessed with her career that she is willing to smear the father of her grandson when it proves politically convenient.

Greg   April 8th, 2009 12:06 pm ET

I cannot believe you believe this Levi guy.. Hes getting paid for the interviews and just looking for his small blip on the map of fame.
Nobody is perfect but why does this guy feel we need to hear his side of the story? (what story?) I for one could care less and so does most of American.. Levi Go away ..leave the Palins alone unless your visiting your son.. basically shut upp.

Alesia   April 8th, 2009 12:03 pm ET

I agree with Politically Incorrect! This is more than unfair! They used this young man and now he can't even see or take part in raising his son?? They're using the excuse that he's lying for fame and fortune! The McCain/Palin camp forced him into the spotlight in the first place! Take the Palin's to court and I hope Levi wins!!!

George- Chicago   April 8th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

This kid has a right to stick up for himself and his family. I applaud him for taking on this powerful and obviously ruthless family that is willing to exploit their own children.

bmkwilson   April 8th, 2009 12:02 pm ET

We forget that Bristol and Levi were kids – not too much different from many other kids today. Sadly, their parents get involved (to a point they should be), and if your parent happens to be named Sarah Palin, nasty things can happen. Sarah likes control and we saw that in the election. The problem is that she lacks finesse and believes she knows all. So, lay off Levi and Bristol – they're teens. Sarah is fair game – she is asking for the attention and does not care how or who she has to use to get it. I'm a registered Republican but am offended by Palin.

Sam   April 8th, 2009 12:01 pm ET

The Palins used Levi while it was convenient; i.e. saying that he and Bristol were going to get married. I doubt that was ever in his mind, but heaven forbid that the Republicans should admit that abstinence-only education doesn't work and that Bristol was actually going to be a **gasp** unwed mother. Sarah Palin has found she just loves that national spotlight and is unwilling to give it up, no matter how ridiculous she looks.

kristin   April 8th, 2009 12:01 pm ET

Jim-in-PA is absolutely correct. Heck, there are college educated men with their doctorates older than Levi who don't even want to acknowledge their children.

Go Levi   April 8th, 2009 12:00 pm ET

I am happy to see Levi putting the The Palin Hickabily Clan in check. Sarah Palin is so full of herself. She surely can dish out crap, but can't take it. Why is she letting someone else defend her, be a woman and speak up for yourself, you Wasilla Bimbo. The apple doesnt fall to far from the tree either, right Bristol? Sarah you need psychiatric help even though theres no real help for sociopath.

lynn in NM   April 8th, 2009 12:00 pm ET

This child has had enough of his 10 minutes worth of fame. Do your duty as a father. Support the child. Love the child. See the child, but only in a safe place.

Tom   April 8th, 2009 12:00 pm ET

How soon we forget that a wacky leftest blog made the accusation that Trig was Bristol's son. Only after this, did the Palin family come out say that Bristol was currently pregnant.

Jackie in Dallas   April 8th, 2009 11:59 am ET

George Whitstone:
Levi has rights as a parent, whether he married Bristol or not. He was paraded all over the country as the father of the child, has done what he can to be responsible, offered to marry the mother, and was dumped. As long as the Palin's acknowledge his as the father, he has rights. Yes, his rights would be stronger if he had married Bristol, but they exist, marriage or not.

Georgia Gal   April 8th, 2009 11:58 am ET

Well these two kids (Bristol & Levi) aren't getting back together. There's far too much water under the bridge at this point.

Susan   April 8th, 2009 11:57 am ET

Gov. Palin and her official spokesperson in a dueling sparring match with an 18-year-old - how mature and responsible of her! I'd believe Levi "in a heartbeat" before I'd believe a word - ANY word - spoken by Silly Sarah. And, with regard to the popular Republican sentiment that she is "feared" - not hardly! She's a national joke!

Bob in Pa   April 8th, 2009 11:56 am ET

Why don't you just keep your mouth shut instead of trying to shop your story. When someone asks, you just say, It's nobody elses business except Bristol's and mine.

Mike   April 8th, 2009 11:56 am ET

It's really sad that the Palins paraded these kids in front of the media. They should have done what the Bidens did and kept them away.

They have no one to blame but themselves for this mess.

Jane   April 8th, 2009 11:56 am ET

I feel sorry for the innocent little child in the Alaska Soap opera. I feel sorry for him.

Norom   April 8th, 2009 11:55 am ET

Kitty April 8th, 2009 11:24 am ET

Gov. Palin is a very respectful individual and this mess with her daughter could happen of any of us!! We do not watch our kids 24/7. So BACK OF THE PALINS!!!! LOOK AT YOUR OWN LIFE!!!

Governor Palin is an individual who is out there preaching one thing for everyone else, and doing something else in her own life. In my book that makes her a hypocrite, and a hypocrite that was willing to throw her own daughter into the national spotlight for her own political gain.

better days ahead   April 8th, 2009 11:55 am ET

Levi, it's time for you to wright a book, you might as well get rich after being thrown out like trash, palin is a disgrace.

Ryan   April 8th, 2009 11:54 am ET

It should disturb people that this idiot, Palin, will scrap with a 17 year old boy. She was ALMOST our VP....and had she been, she'd probably be our actual President had McCain kicked the bucket, which was likely since he was so old.

That's scary... we dodged a bullet with this one.

Meanwhile, our President is saving our face in front of the international community quite successfully judging by the crowds that gather to hear him speak in Prague and are jealous that he's ours and not theirs. :)

Very different then picking a fight with a teenager hillbilly.

PK California   April 8th, 2009 11:54 am ET

In my opinion Sarah Palin had too much to say about the couple's decision making! Bristol, now a mother, and her boyfriend, now a father, should have been making their own decisions. It's my impression that Bristol's mind has been poisoned against Levi and told he isn't good enough for her. Calling his family names is no way to help an already rocky relationship due to their ages. Parents are supposed to be supportive, not critical. I don't believe this couple will ever marry. Sarah, and her control, will see to that.

Shannon   April 8th, 2009 11:54 am ET

At least this kid is sticking up for himself agains the almighty Palin.. What a joke the Palin Family is..

Ruth   April 8th, 2009 11:54 am ET

How do we know there isn't some agreement between the Palins and the Johnstons to drag this faux feud out until 2012, it would keep Sarah a household name and in the spotlight. Stop paying attention and they will all disappear. Do you all really believe either side?

Judy in El Paso, Texas   April 8th, 2009 11:53 am ET

I am so sick of reading about the Palins. Govenor Palin needs to stay out of the limelight and stick to what she knows. (which is not much)

California Gold   April 8th, 2009 11:52 am ET

What is dismaying is the way all adults are behaving and the war of words back and forth. These "adults" seem to have forgotten there is a baby in the middle of their range war and one day he may look back at how Granny Sarah went on the attack against his Daddy. Frankly until these "adults" can learn to control their actions, it would seem they have absolutely no business raising an impressionable child. Brickbats to all of them.

slipthalo   April 8th, 2009 11:52 am ET

She only paraded him out in the public, said he was a fine young man and promoted the concept they were going to get married because she needed a cover story to put a positive spin on the daughter's pregnancy story.
Once the election was over and she no longer needed a cover story for her daughter, then she changed her attitude and they dumped him – he was no longer needed.
Also didn't help when his mom was arrested but then her step sister in law has been arrested too – wonder if she'll throw the first dude under the bridge since his family is a detriment now too?
Typical SP – use until no longer needed.

jim-in-PA   April 8th, 2009 11:52 am ET

Let the kid see his kid...

At least he WANTS to see his kid, which is a lot more than other teenage parents do...

WDS   April 8th, 2009 11:51 am ET

I'm surprise she didn't blame the media, The President and bloggers for the drama! What a good model family to have in the White House - LoL

Wynter   April 8th, 2009 11:50 am ET

Typical Republican tactic these days. If they don't like something they burn it to the ground. Its a shame what these people do in the name of their own political agenda.

Average people just speaking the truth get thrown under the bus... disgusting.

Uncle Jimbo   April 8th, 2009 11:50 am ET

GOP & Palin Family Values -
Let a teenager live with your teenage daughter in your house -
have a child out of wedlock. – I suppose it is all Gods will.

Does eather Bristol or Levi have a job ?
Or is it more Alaskan welfare, and now child support.
On the tax payer dole hey ?

Good ole GOP morality

A little sad   April 8th, 2009 11:50 am ET

joeshmoe April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

The left did nothing but mock and ridicule this kid. Now that he has a grudge regarding a family issue, he's a useful idiot and a hero for the same Palin hating crowd.

************************************

Nope, they mocked what came out of Sarah Palin's mouth and camp about this kid.

Her words were very much a valid issue in the campaign, as are any other candidates'. Unfortunately, Palin decided to use her kids and Levi, and the baby.

You really can't ignore what the candidate is saying just because it was inappropriate – that foretells how she would have been while in office.

That's pretty much the point of a campaign. And a great deal of the reason why she lost.

joanne   April 8th, 2009 11:49 am ET

Who would you believe? A kid that wanted to be hunting instead of the RNC convention or the headliner at the RNC? Most normal Alaskans aren't looking for attention and as an Alaskan I feel sorry for this kid and his family being used by alot of people, but mostly being used by Palin because she doesn't take care of her family first.

I used to like CNN but not anymore!   April 8th, 2009 11:49 am ET

I wonder if this will hurt Levi's chances of becoming an Alaska State Trooper!

OK! Anyone Surprise   April 8th, 2009 11:49 am ET

All of those children should have been in school in the first place. But no the Pit Bull with Lipstick decided she wanted to use her family has props.

**shaking head**! I said, give them enough rope and all of them will hang themselves one by one. Sure enough...one by one they are disappearing. All the lies haven't been told yet! However, I do believe this stuff needs to be part of the Jerry Springer show at best. What a family – LoL! They were together anyway, but people wanted to believe it...and out of curosity they showed up to see her....... Now she has a EGO that will not go away.

Kathy   April 8th, 2009 11:49 am ET

And THIS is the reason why Palin should have NEVER agreed to run for VP. She has basically put Bristol and Levi's reputation in the national spotlight.

Cam, Atlanta   April 8th, 2009 11:49 am ET

Did Palin & Bristol, get Trips's permission to give an "exclusive" interview to Greta Van Sustern, last month, while exposing the baby? Talk about double-standards.

Wes B.   April 8th, 2009 11:48 am ET

Everything with which Sarah Palin is associated turns into an absolute TRAIN WRECK!!

Maybe that's why I read every story about her. ...And also why electing her to ANY office is a terrible thing.

Peachy Keen   April 8th, 2009 11:48 am ET

levi, get yourself an attorney, get your visitation rights established and be happy you no longer need to put up with this ignorant family called the Palins.

A World Recession, The President Traveling abroad, Congress spending, UN doing nothing to North Korea's weapons programs, What exactly does this report have to do with American Politics??????????

Hannah   April 8th, 2009 11:47 am ET

Why is he making the TV circuit.? No one did anything to him. He and Bristol broke up so why does he feel the need to air all of this? No one feels much sympathy for him. He goes on sleazy shows and tries to excuse his behavior. He had unprotected sex, he "thinks" the mother knew about it all but isn't sure. He is only trying to make himself look like the victim here. Bristol now has a child to raise on her own.

Sarah is NOT responsible for a 17/18 year old that decided to sleep with her boyfriend. No matter what you teach kids, they eventually do something you advised them against. Leave the Palins alone. This kid needs to get a job, go to college, get off the talk shows and grow up.

Tara   April 8th, 2009 11:47 am ET

Can we please stop already.. What is going to happen when this child is able to read.. He can read all about Mommy and Daddy and Grandma all fighting over who is or isnt white trash...

Seriously the election was over months ago can we move on and worry about other things of more importance.. for instance our economy, the value of a dollar today and what it will be next year or in 10 years, rising cost of college, student loans, the increase number of children who are homeless because their parents couldnot afford their house.. I can count houndreds of things that we should all care about more than the Palins!

Rob R   April 8th, 2009 11:47 am ET

Enough with the "white trash" comments...they are indicative of veiled racism...if you're not respectable white people then you must be like that other "trash"....stop the labeling...it demeans us all.

I lived in Alaska for years. She (Palin) is giving all of us a bad name. We are not all moose-hunting, salmon fishing, alcoholic morons. The Palin family maybe, but not all of us. She, her puppet husband, and her kids are a disgrace. THANK GOD this idiot and her Springer family did not wind up in the White House. She was the MOST UN-QUALIFIED candidate I've ever heard speak.

Drew from Michigan   April 8th, 2009 11:46 am ET

Yes, I think Alaskans' are that stupid, look how many times they elected Ted Stevens.

Charlie Williams   April 8th, 2009 11:46 am ET

The whole Palin family life story is just another trailer trash novel. The Alaska people must be really embarrassed to have her as their Governor.

floridaborn   April 8th, 2009 11:46 am ET

I feel sorry for Bristol Palin. She has learned very publicly the lesson that most young girls that become sexually active at a young age has learned – teenage guys are only in it for the sex.

Calis   April 8th, 2009 11:46 am ET

This entire circus is just sad.

A teenager should not even remotely feel the need to go onto television and do interviews to defend himself.

To be entirely honest, when I first heard about the incident, I chortled at the irony of it and hoped that maybe, just maybe, certain people would take a look at the issue honestly.

Instead, people have just put on red and blue glasses and used these kids as weapons against their political adversaries. Problems aren't solved through politics; problems are STARTED and exacerbated by politics.

Take a stand and do what's right, leave the kids alone on talk about the actual issue, you may be more of an adult for it.

say what   April 8th, 2009 11:46 am ET

Can't blame the guy for not wanting Sarah as his mother-in-law.

John P   April 8th, 2009 11:46 am ET

Palin's clan snobby? lol, that group of hillbillies? That is funny, snobby white trash...lol

alaska mommy   April 8th, 2009 11:46 am ET

I'm starting to think everyone in this saga. Bristol is the only one who is showing any sense. An impressive feat given who she has for a mother. I can't fault Levi though for feeling used. All I know is that Palin is one of the worst things that ever happened to this state.

John in Ohio   April 8th, 2009 11:46 am ET

The Palins exploited Levi, and now that their ploy failed, and they don't need the prop any more, they're discarding him. If, god forbid, McCain/Palin had won, this poor guy would have been effectively forced into marrying Bristol. Now they could care less.

MommaRoo   April 8th, 2009 11:45 am ET

Come on. The whole wedding thing seemed staged from the onset of the pregnancy announcement.

Bristol's pregnant,.... let's tell everyone how happy the couple is and they are "planning" to wed (not to upset any right wing Christian groups or to seem hypocritical on entire abstinence stance).

Anyone watching the Republican National Convention could tell Levi was being paraded around,.. while he looked entirely uncomfortable, perhaps he may even realize now that he was being exploited out of circumstance for Palin's gain). Regardless, he's speaking out. Good for him.
The baby needs both parents, try to get along for him!
Now, please let all Palin drama fade. 15 minutes are up folks!

MG   April 8th, 2009 11:45 am ET

I think people need to realize is that he and his family aren't getting paid for the interviews as mentioned in the article- and that's saying something. Has anyone seen any pictures of him and his child alone? I think he's telling the truth and just wants some support. He's up against an egotistic domineering and ambitious woman who happens to be the governor of his state. He doesn't have much to lose, but he can let America see who she is and what kind of family she's living in. It doesn't matter if he had a child out of wedlock. The child is his. Bristol didn't have him alone. Not only that, but he's 18.

Matt   April 8th, 2009 11:45 am ET

Just shows that Sarah Palin is not a good person – period. I thank God everyday that woman and her "morals" aren't anywhere near the White House!!

Patriot1013   April 8th, 2009 11:44 am ET

Susan,

Palin's boasted to Charlie Rose that Alaska's proximity to Russia gave her foreign policy experience. Several GOP surrogates repeated this laughable idea that she had foreign policy credentials because Alaska is close to a foreign country. Kind of like saying I can assist with a brain surgery because my neighbor is a neurologist.

Andy   April 8th, 2009 11:44 am ET

This is the same kind of relationship Palin had with her brother-in-law, the Alaska state trooper. She set out to use her office to destroy him when his marriage to her sister went sour. That is why the name "Sarah Barracuda" is so appropriate for her.

Chris, Ohio   April 8th, 2009 11:44 am ET

Thank God the American people saw through this nitwit and didn't elect the Republicans to the White House! I am truly amazed with every news story – it's like the train wreck that never stops. Hard to believe she was ever a "serious" contender for the VP.

Sarah, honey, let the kids alone to work out their problems and go back to what you're being PAID to do – govern Alaska – at least for the time being. Hopefully Alaskans will realize you are doing them no favors whatsoever and elect someone else next time so you can get back to looking after your family (and you're doing SUCH a fine job of it too). You've shown what your capable of, and quite frankly, I for one am not impressed. Trading insults with an 18 year old....not exactly a fair fight, is it? Unfortunately for you, he's winning.

Angela   April 8th, 2009 11:44 am ET

Veronica, CA   April 8th, 2009 11:43 am ET

I understand that you wanted to have your side told. You did so now do something about your woes. The most important thing is that little boy and he needs both parents in his life. Go to court and seek equal custody otherwise going from network to network airing your personal life is not going to change the fact that you do not have your son as often as you'd like.

Les, Utah   April 8th, 2009 11:43 am ET

How does anyone think anything concerned with Palin will be kept private? And does anyone(other than a few as dumb as she) think she will EVER be a viable candidate for ANY office? She and the Repugnant party have already proved how stupid she and they are and how dumb they think the American people are.
I know Palin's super-inflated ego won't let her see what a dummy she is and I hope the Reps. keep nominating her for some limelight position, guaranteed to keep Democrats winning.

Shadysider   April 8th, 2009 11:42 am ET

Keep swinging Levi. Palin is a fool and you might actually win this argument.

Appalled at Coleman   April 8th, 2009 11:42 am ET

I applaud Levi for speaking out, HOW DARE the Palins try and seperate him from his own child (unless there is something we don't know!).
The Palin family attitude about this flies in the face of all the 'family first, my kid is honorable and will get married' stuff we heard all thru the election. Obviously Levi was USED to put forth a false impression of a perfect conservative family.....
Finally......are people JUST getting that the Palins are snobs?? For Pete's sake, she talks of herself in the third person as 'the governor', the 'first family'.......their quote was 'do you think the governor would allow Levi to stay at the house'....even her aides have to talk in the 'royal' plural!!

S.M   April 8th, 2009 11:42 am ET

Couldn't one say the samething about the Palin family? When she decided bring Levi into the picture at the Republican convention and parade the teenagers around as if being pregnant out of wedlock is a great thing, than Palin can blame herself for all of the Hoop La.

shawn   April 8th, 2009 11:41 am ET

Notice to Levi Johnston & the Johnston family:
When you say:
"I'm just trying to get my side of the story out there and letting people know who I am," you need to know that no one cares who you are. Your little boy cares who you are and what will he think of you when he grows up and reads the yellow journalism, trash talking interviews you and your family are doing with regard to his Mom and her side of the family?
Go back to obscurity, get your education, grow up and become the man your son needs you to be.

Andrew from DC   April 8th, 2009 11:41 am ET

"In a statement issued earlier this week, Palin.."
To say that Sarah Palin's deteriorating relationship with her ex – to be son-in-law is not relevant or newsworthy is absurd. First of all as evidenced by the quote above, Palin is engaging in public dialogue about this issue. Also for Palin, one who would support legislation of questionable and religiously based morality and ethics onto the general population, to be mired by this type of distasteful controversy (and her hypocritical handling of the issue) is both educational and intesely amusing.

Sheri   April 8th, 2009 11:41 am ET

Granted, Levi showed poor judgment in going on national television and essentially bashing the Palin family, but truth be told Levi is still a child mentally himself. It is probably more out of frustration that he is doing what he is doing than anything else because he lacks life experiences to handle this more like an adult than a child.

As for the Palins, Sara needs to drop this whole thing. She got used to the limelight/spotlight during the campaign, she liked the attention she got. and now that it's gone, she can't stand not being the talk of the town (or nation for that matter) anymore. Talk about being a attention/fame whore, Sara Palin is it and she is a poor example of a mother at the moment.

For the sake of her kids, family and grandbaby, go away Sara. We aren't interested in you any more. We lost interest in you when the election was over. Go back to governing Alaska, and stop acting like a darn ice princess/queen just because Alaksa is cold most of the time. Doesn't mean you need to be. Sheesh, you're a poor example of how an adult should behave. And I'm not referring to just this story alone. You've been a poor example of an adult for a very long time. Grow up and go home. Stay out of my news.

Kevin -- Indiana   April 8th, 2009 11:40 am ET

If Sarah Palin doesn't like that Levi is in the national spotlight, she should have been smart enough to not drag him into it. It's not like he had much choice in being turned into a joke in front of the national media.

Tim in Minnesota   April 8th, 2009 11:40 am ET

If you were Levi, and some powerful people were doing character assasination on you, you'd want to get on the news and clear you're name, wouldn't you?

Owen Miller   April 8th, 2009 11:40 am ET

Yet another episode of the Alaska Hillbillies!
Keep up the support for Silly Sarah all you Republicans!
She makes for great comedic relief and if she gets the nomination in 2012 she guarantees four more years of Democrats in the White house

John Sturgis, SD   April 8th, 2009 11:39 am ET

You have to laugh at this backwoods family duo. People see this behavior and we understand that cliches aren't always wrong "it does takes all kinds." Palin is the fruit of the day, we've seen hoards of politicians almost make it into the big league of American politics. Palin is one of those individuals who don't recognize the fact that she's being humiliated at the kiddies table with Joe, the idiot plumber.

Eric M   April 8th, 2009 11:39 am ET

Bottom line here is that the couple was reportedly engaged. After the campaign, and birth of the child, they announce the break up. In the interim, Levi had attempted to become an apprentice electrician, if I recall correctly, until the media attention on his qualifications forced him out. His mother also got busted for dealing oxycontin.

So let me get this straight. Bristol Palin is now a single mom. In terms of PR, breaking off the engagement with Levi could do nothing beneficial for Bristol or Sarah Palin.

On the other hand, we have a relatively good looking teen father that is trying to extend his 15 minutes of fame. An unemployed 'baby daddy' complaining about not being allowed to see his kid enough? That's not exactly original.

I'll bet my next ten years salary that he dumped Bristol.

Lance Coardill   April 8th, 2009 11:38 am ET

Trailer trash gets his 15 minutes of fame. This would be newsworthy, why?

Michelle   April 8th, 2009 11:38 am ET

Who cares about Sarah Palin or any of her family or Levi's family or any of these nuts.

Fade away please!

peter   April 8th, 2009 11:38 am ET

The bottom line to this mess is that Sarah Palin should not have put
these KIDS in the national spotlight. It doesn't matter what you or I think of Sarah Palin, IT WAS WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

GOPer   April 8th, 2009 11:38 am ET

The Palins disgust me. They give new meaning to the word, "opportunist's". You go Levi, the truth will always prevail!

Go away Sarah   April 8th, 2009 11:38 am ET

Whether Sarah likes it or not, Levi and his family are her grandchild's relatives and they are going to be in Sarah's life forever.

How childish she is. Levi has an excuse for acting like a kid – he IS one. A forty-something grandma acting like a 15-year old "mean girl" is ridiculous.

I'm glad Levi and his family are standing up for themselves.

alice   April 8th, 2009 11:38 am ET

I'm with "Brady"...why are we still talking about this? And why is Sarah Palin stooping so low as to get in a war of words with a teenager?

meemawfrom the south   April 8th, 2009 11:37 am ET

William, I'm right there with you, sir. I have managed to escape that label, fortunately. I do,however, so enjoy staying on top of this Palin "Soap Opera". It makes for fun reading and watching.

yolanda   April 8th, 2009 11:37 am ET

Kitty, it's the conservatives who throw stones. If that was Obama's daughter that had a baby out of wedlock you would be crowing to the sun about how liberals are immoral etc. If you are going to preach the talk the family better walk the walk.

Steve in Las Vegas,NV   April 8th, 2009 11:37 am ET

This is the most ridiculous nonsense yet. These are the most dysfunctional families seen lately. Looks like they are starting a new soap opera.
Just a bunch os bratty little children.

Frances   April 8th, 2009 11:37 am ET

Just a thought ... if you ignore them they'll go away!!!!!

Michael M. Noonan   April 8th, 2009 11:37 am ET

What a classless little boy.

Karen   April 8th, 2009 11:37 am ET

Oh sweetie...your mother is a drug dealer, you knocked up another teen out of wedlock and didn't marry her, and you wear plaid. You ARE white trash.

David   April 8th, 2009 11:37 am ET

While this doesn't qualify as national news, I'm glad Levi is coming out to tell his side of the story. Palin came to the republican convention with a bunch of lies and continued to spew those lies throughout the campaign. She has no credibility in my opinion. If nothing else, this whole silly drama helps to bring to light – albeit unflattering – Palin's true character. Her fans need to get past her good looks and see how hateful she is.

I feel sorry for Levi, Bristol, and their baby. Palin? Not so much.

Ursula   April 8th, 2009 11:37 am ET

I didn't know trailer trash qualified to be snobs.

Actually, if the Palins were in Florida, they would be in contempt of court. It is against the law for them to not let Levi take his son every other weekend and one evening on his off week. I hope he gets them in trouble.

Wanda   April 8th, 2009 11:36 am ET

I sit and hear sane journalist on CNN and other somewhat credible news shows actually give this woman credit for something and think she may still have a future in politics - my guess is she won't get Governor EVER again – she will have it rough in politics of any nature and geeez...........stop parading this bunch of half-wits in the news every day and on TV shows - maybe they are "real people" but put them on Springer where they belong for goodness sake!

Terry   April 8th, 2009 11:35 am ET

The dicussion between Palin and Levi is ridiculous. They are two young kids who got caught. This is happening across American. Don't make such a big deal of it. Let go.

Steve   April 8th, 2009 11:35 am ET

To Timm:

Palin chose to publicize Johnston, parading before the media.

Biden has wisely chosen to honor his daughter's privacy.

Apples and oranges.

dababe   April 8th, 2009 11:34 am ET

Why can't this go away? I don't want to see their faces on the news or on a news website when I sign in. The election ended months ago – enough already. Then again, she used him so why can't he get is 15 minutes of fame? He should be preaching about safe sex and the consequences of an oops.

kim   April 8th, 2009 11:34 am ET

Yes, the true colors of Palin will keep emerging.
This shows you what she really is.
How dare Levi let the public know anything abut the real Sarah Palin, and how she uses anything for her advantage.
What a control freak!

Chris   April 8th, 2009 11:32 am ET

While I think it is disrespectful to name-call one side of your child's family, it is understandable that Levi had to do these interviews. He is facing resistance from the most powerful person in his state and knows that he cannot rely on the courts to be objective. It is his responsibility to shine a light on his predicament so that he has a snowball's chance of being involved in his child's life. Otherwise, Sarah will see to it that she has another cute campaign prop for 2012. But next time, Levi, keep your sis and other family members out of the interviews–they don't help.

annick   April 8th, 2009 11:31 am ET

How Sad !!! The Palin/ Johnston saga turning into a Jerry Springer show. Nothing better than defeat to lay things uncovered

MsC   April 8th, 2009 11:31 am ET

Small matter in a time that requires higher standards and thought. However, I support any focus that brings to light the hypocrisy of Palin. The family brought the kid into the campaign now must deal with the ramifications of the inevitable split of two under aged parents trying to support a child emotionally, all while being used in the public forum. For the Republicans must focus on building the intellectually honest policy of the party and bury the regressive, false morality, brought by Palin in order to re-invent the party and recover from the Bush years. Bottom line, we need a strong Republican party to achieve balance, but if Palin is the top GOP candidate in 2012 the it is a good indication the party is still spinning their wheels.

js   April 8th, 2009 11:30 am ET

This is an obvious reason why these two weren't ready to be parents.
I don't think that they have the child's best interests at heart when airing their dirty laundry in public

chef dugan   April 8th, 2009 11:30 am ET

Can't we just put Sarah Palin down as a serious mistake by the McCain campaign, one of many, and move on? She's as dumb as a cucumber, has no class and if the Republicans want to embrace her in future elections they deserve what they get.

cool onlooker   April 8th, 2009 11:30 am ET

Go Levi! Speak up and drown the real liar!

mike   April 8th, 2009 11:29 am ET

Abd Sara is NOT on a quest for fame and fortunte?? Give me a break!!

NK?   April 8th, 2009 11:29 am ET

What nerve she claims that he is trying to exploit their family to gain attention. Say it isn’t so! Heck, this lady is a truly damaged goods with a huge EGO! How many interviews she gave after the elections and I still could not understand the gibberish!

She used the Kids period. I guess it’s our President, bloggers, and the media fault again that she has drama and she is dumb. LoL – Jerry Springer can you please reach out to this nut case! Please so we can stop hearing about her being considered for POTUS. Please!
LoL! LMAO.... Levi get away from this crazy family!

Todd   April 8th, 2009 11:28 am ET

What is being said isn't really that important. What is important is how Sarah Palin is managing the situation. Why? Because it reflects her maturity and political skill, and gives us incite how she would manage similar criticism while in higher office.

To date, she has demonstrated an inability to resist baiting, and an inability to prioritize important matters from petty distractions.

Who cares what a teenage boy says about your morality and ethics? Your word and deeds should stand by themselves. Focus on the important tasks at hand.

carol   April 8th, 2009 11:28 am ET

Palin dragged everybody into this and then turned her back. She used it for attention and, as usual, is throwing yet another person under the bus. She has no reason to be a snob – she is unqualified, unethical, and immature.

George Whitstone   April 8th, 2009 11:28 am ET

Johnston, just shut up about it! You fathered an illegitimate child, and you have to suffer the consequences. If you had married the mother, you would have rights; now you have no rights to the child unless the mother gives them to you. Do your son a favor and stay out of his life.

Tom in Delaware   April 8th, 2009 11:27 am ET

The best part about the MSM's effort to try and destroy Sarah Palin is that is about as effective as those clowns Begala and Carville to ruin Rush.

Get it out while you can.

The Tea Party's next stop after April 15th is outside the offices of you guys....we'll see if you can pretend THAT"s not happening.

b nice   April 8th, 2009 11:27 am ET

Sarah support, Yes the Palin family deserves to be dissed. They sholved out more dirt than they could handle so its fair game. I was no way a Sarah supporter nor a supporter of the Republican party. She needs to act like a lady and stop blaming the media, MY PRESIDENT, Washington, Obama Administration, Levi, The gop,Democrats, and Katic Couric for your downfall. Now I see why that Sarah Palin lady wasn't qualified to become VP.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry   April 8th, 2009 11:27 am ET

These 2 families need to duke it out on Jerry Springer, but it's just too bad the show doesn't exist anymore.

Palin can forget about running for President with this drama.

mike   April 8th, 2009 11:27 am ET

get your 15 minutes of fame.. Kid here is some free advice to you.... you dont play politics with politicians.

Cindy Ferraro   April 8th, 2009 11:26 am ET

The only thing I think of is the people who support Sarah Palin. What is it going to take for you to see what she is? This country needs intellect to change the corruption and waste. Send Palin packing back to Wasilla where she can manage a few thousand people who want to be led by the nose. Speak up Levi Johnson as you can help the US see who she is. Cindy in Philadelphia

MIKE   April 8th, 2009 11:26 am ET

The kid needs to grow up first before spouting off...go get your GED and move on How much did he get for his interview and who are his parents??? Have not heard much about them...

Wendy   April 8th, 2009 11:26 am ET

This is exactly why teenagers should not have babies and funding for teen pregnancy prevention programs are essential.

Bret   April 8th, 2009 11:25 am ET

Poor Levi, he just doesn't understand that he was nothing more than a GOP campaign prop. Maybe he can get a little advice from Joe the Plumber, and even Sarah herself. For the sake of all of us, can someone get these people a new watch so they know their 15 minutes are up.

Robin   April 8th, 2009 11:25 am ET

Obama/Mama,

If he wants to see his son, there is something called a court system that will set up visitation and fair child support.

He is a white trash loser who is being paid for this.

Lori   April 8th, 2009 11:25 am ET

And the Republicans wanted THIS family in the White House??? Not only does Sarah Palin have NO experience but she is also a hypocrite. She lied to the American people by pretending that Levi and her daughter were actually a stable couple who were going to get married just so that she could get votes. Now she's discarded him because she has no purpose for him anymore. Republicans try and spin this one!

Willyd   April 8th, 2009 11:24 am ET

Is it any wonder that television Soap Operas are being cancelled when the continuing saga of the likes of the Palin family still passes for news.

jed   April 8th, 2009 11:24 am ET

first she drags her pregnant child and her 17 year old boyfriend into the campaign and uses them for her own advancement and then screams when the kid refuses to play along anymore and tell what I am sure in his mind is the truth..I have no pity for sara palin just for her poor kids that have this self promoting piece of white trash as a mother. Maybe she can worry less about Levi and more about her sister in law..you know the one just arrested for robbery!

Kitty   April 8th, 2009 11:24 am ET

Levi has a LOT of growing up to do!!! First of all you do not bash the girl you "knocked up"!!! How many other girls have you knocked up that we are not aware of. And Bristol has never treated you this way in her interviews – YOU ARE A JERK!!! And I do not believe for a minute that Gov. Palin let you move in with them. They may have let you spend a night or two when your baby was born and that is a kind thing for the Palin's to have done. But I do not believe they put your name on any of their rooms in their home!!!

Gov. Palin is a very respectful individual and this mess with her daughter could happen of any of us!! We do not watch our kids 24/7. So BACK OF THE PALINS!!!! LOOK AT YOUR OWN LIFE!!!

S Callahan   April 8th, 2009 11:24 am ET

This is just heartbreaking that adults are arguing and disputing a young, teen. Let these children be.....Palin shows her low colors in keeping this in the media..shame

straw   April 8th, 2009 11:23 am ET

While I don't think Levi handled the situation well by going on national TV, we have to remember he's just a kid. Palin, on the other hand, arguing with a teen-ager? Puh-leez....

AJA   April 8th, 2009 11:23 am ET

Coincidence he gets dismissed as the campaign, and his usefulness a tool, ends??

Brady   April 8th, 2009 11:22 am ET

To be honest, does any of this really have to do with politics today? The election ended five months ago, so why are we still talking about Sarah Palin's daughter's baby and her ex-fiance?

S Callahan   April 8th, 2009 11:22 am ET

This is just heartbreaking that adults are arguning and disputing a young, teen. Let these children be.....Palin shows how low colors in keeping this in the media..shame

william   April 8th, 2009 11:22 am ET

Having been raised (unfairly) around white trash and spending my entire adult life trying to escape it, I have enough life experience to declare that BOTH of these families are, indeed, white trash. However, I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying be able to watch this saga unfold. I can't wait until Sarah Palin is exposed for what she truly is.

joeshmoe   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

The left did nothing but mock and ridicule this kid. Now that he has a grudge regarding a family issue, he's a useful idiot and a hero for the same Palin hating crowd.

Veteran in Kansas   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

Double standards for Palin, canidate Palin with a daughter and a muffin in the oven , needed Levi for the daughter. Campaign over, don't need the scum bag, goodbye.

Dave in DC   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

I syggest hes just trying to make some money. The guys just another two bit punk whose looking for his 15 minutes of fame. They ought to ignore him.

NK?   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

This is not a surprise. Many said from the beginning this kid was dressed up for a pretend showcase. Sarah is dangerous and vindictive. Remember when Sarah and her husband tormented her ex brother in-Law? People laughed at the SNL skits and even said she would make it better on “All my children”, or even the Jerry Springer show. Well guess what! How True it was. This lady or her family wasn’t really to be part of the White House. I would say Reality TV is her best bet now! How McCain could have promoted her for Vice President of the United States is totally mystifying

Now Sarah who is the blame media, bloggers, staff, John McCain and all for taking you serious. You never should have responded – you are acting worst than the teenagers! Oh I forgot you are just a 45 year old living in a 16 year's mind! Stay off the national scene drama queen!

Republican Turned Democrat   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

Palin clearly used this man (and her own daughter) for her campaign. After losing, she just trashed him. Palin clearly shows how hypocrite and insincere she really is. Definitely, we don't need someone like Palin in the White House!!!

talmag   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

This whole situation is sad....mostly for the child. S. Palin spoke so much of her religion and how it influenced her life but she is not practicing what she preached. Surprise...surprise! She should let the guy see his child. If things didn't work out between her daughter and him, he is still his child. If she doesn't, she is a phoney and it was apparent from the start. The moment they lost and even before...she started to criticize her people. She never got the message that she was second on the ticket. Some how she thought more of herself than the rest of the world. Mc Cain is a gentleman and has not condemned her but he will not openly support her. He always says "he has to wait and see who is running." That is not an endorsement in any mannner or way. He was a fool to select her and he now knows it. I can't wait to see how she blames everyone else in her book for the loss but herself.

rich   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

First, he should be more concerned and worried about his child and not what people think. His priority is his baby and that the child not know of any tension in the parents relationship. I think so much is wrong with this totally. I think again, this shows the immaturity of the father. Grow up ... Be a man.... accept your responsibility. Again, another person not accepting their own responsibility and accountability. Blame it on others.

Callie   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

Geez leave the poor boy alone.

I bet pushy mommy was behind all of Bristol's problems and choices. You can tell that Bristol's mother has terrible control issues just by watching her, and she does come across as very, very snobby.

I wouldn't want my child to marry into that family. I am glad Levi got away from that nest of vipers!!!

How much do you want to bet that next Sarah will be keeping this boy from his own child, and trying to turn that child against him.

Sarah Palin is what all really smart sucessful women fear. She is woman playing dress up and just posing for the sake of self status and odds are that she has raised her daughter to be just the same.
In most cases the branch does not fall far from the tree.

ebnv   April 8th, 2009 11:21 am ET

Susan - Palin is a train wreck as are the policies of my former party (republicans)–
PALIN: "They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."
-and-
"Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from God."

It isn't so much to pick on the very human (and ignorant) person Palin - She is what she is - It IS that the Republican Party chose her to reepresent their values–

jake   April 8th, 2009 11:20 am ET

i also fear for this poor kid...look how Palin abused her power in the state of Alaska after her sister's divorce. this woman is unkind in revenge.

Jim D, IL   April 8th, 2009 11:20 am ET

And to think – 45% of American voted for this circus of dufus's to be Vice President. What a joke.

Mike S., New Orleans   April 8th, 2009 11:20 am ET

The important thing is that the word PALIN is in the news again today. I'm sure Sarah is happy about that.

What kind of family values candidate won't let the father of her grandson see his own baby?

LIBERAL FOR LIFE   April 8th, 2009 11:20 am ET

Great job, Palin camp! Push him right out of his childs life. This will definitely not want him to come around the Palin family. How awkward would that be. Smart moves you idiots!

Wendy   April 8th, 2009 11:20 am ET

Sarah will need a running mate in 2012....... Levi will be available.
Maybe one of them could find Russia on a map, while the other is raising awareness about abstinence!

Charles   April 8th, 2009 11:20 am ET

Get off your high horses. The kid's defending himself. I'm sure any of you slagging him off would do the same if your name, or your family name, was dragged through the dirt by a rich liar.

Sarah   April 8th, 2009 11:20 am ET

Society needs to start behaving with the best interests of the CHILD. It is not in the interests of the child to have either parent bad mouthed, and all parents should conduct themselves with this in mind in a divorce or split up situation. For Palin to be publicly involved in the matter as a grandparent also is demeaning to the child. But Levi can speak up for his own family against demeaning statements, especially when those are spread by someone abusing their own notoriety and splashing it across the media. He just needs to do it in a way that states the facts but doesn't lower to the politically motivated disrepectful ways of Palin. Anyone who supports this kind of disfunction for future political positions denigrates our elected offices. While we all have individual opinions on issues and politics, at least choose candidates who are truly qualified and quality and ethical.

IheartAmerica   April 8th, 2009 11:19 am ET

just confirms that Palin was putting on a show, using Bristol and Levi as props during her campaign. the reality was ugly and sad for these two kids, but Palin brought them into the limelight and spun spun spun for her own gain. bad for everybody. thank god that fraud Palin is thousands of miles away from the White House.

James Joyce   April 8th, 2009 11:18 am ET

The left's continuing need to bash Palin is indicative of a deep seeded fear of what she stands for. Be careful. You may bring down upon yourselves that which you fear. If not Palin, then another voice may rise from the ashes.

MB   April 8th, 2009 11:18 am ET

First the issue with Palin and the state trooper and now with Levi. Sorry, but seems like she's establishing a pattern of smearing people and trying to destroy their lives. I have to give my vote to Levi on this one.

Amazing how she was so supportive of them when they were together and suddenly, he's a villian. Not sure who Sarah is to cast judgment about anyone being out for fortune, fame, and publicity. Of course, if it's true the Johnstons weren't compensated for the interviews, I guess that would mean Palin is lying about at least the fortune part. I'm also guessing Levi didn't approach the media saying, "Hey!! Talk to me!! I'll give you some trash!!" So much for the seeking fame and publicity part as well. Sarah thinks everyone should be stifled that has anything negative to say about her. Karma is alive and well.

Enlightened Voter   April 8th, 2009 11:18 am ET

It's very obvious Palin used him to push the family 'values' theme and they dumped him after the election. The clueless pathological liar (palin) is also very cunning.

Dave C - NJ   April 8th, 2009 11:18 am ET

Doesn't anyone wonder why the Palins lied about the kid living there?

That is the main issue with this. Outright lies from Palin.

Timm   April 8th, 2009 11:18 am ET

The media and Republicans have ignored the stories about Joe Biden and his coke-head daughter. Rightly so. The fact that left leaning people are feasting on what should be a private, family squabble, speaks volumes about their pettiness and lack of fairness.

km   April 8th, 2009 11:18 am ET

imagine the palins being snobby? that's like some appalachian inbred extras from "deliverance" thinking they're too good for most people....what a joke that clan is!

C W   April 8th, 2009 11:18 am ET

To Sarah Supporter: Sarah Palin is a manipulative woman who's used her looks and willingness to lie and cheat to get where she is. McCain survived 5 years in a POW camp – and then proceeding to use his experience for political gain.

I don't respect either one of them.

Tess   April 8th, 2009 11:17 am ET

I am from Tn.My friend here has a sister who lives down the street from Sarah Palin. She says she is a great Mother.Always doing things with her children.A good neighbor..Why do people want to trash one another?Love is the answer for all...

Jessica   April 8th, 2009 11:17 am ET

I never blamed Sarah for Bristol's pregnancy during the campaign. However, if it's true she allowed Levi to stay at their home, share private time in Bristol's room, etc., then she and her husband need to share in the blame (along with Levi's parents). However, I am almost certain Levi was used during the campaign to make Sarah look better and pretend everything was OK. This kind of hypocrisy is sickening. If this had been a teen daughter of the Obama's, trust me, they would have been called every ghetto name in the book. What some people hate is that the Palins are low class and the Obamas have an intact, beautiful family that most people desire.

George   April 8th, 2009 11:17 am ET

This kid deserves to express his side of the story. And ya know he is at least 3 times smarter than Sarah and Joe the Plunger combined.

Mary Michigan   April 8th, 2009 11:16 am ET

If this young man does not get normal visitation with his child it will be another abuse of power from Sara Palin. During the campaign it became obvious to me she was a hypocrit. By this I mean the Right to Life issue. Her daughter had the right to chose (this from Sara Palin herself), but her political party does not wish to give others that right. If they really cared about life they would volunteer to care for and help children already in this world who need love. Leave the ones inside a woman's body to the woman and God. The Republican party is always stating they believe in personal liberties, but this seems only for themselves. They wish to tell you how to live, but then do not live by example. Levi should go to court right now and extablish he wants to be in this child's life with court papers. He needs to guard his and his child's rights now before the Palin family vilify his family anymore.

Jean   April 8th, 2009 11:16 am ET

Why is there coverage on 2 stupid teenagers who did not practice safe sex and a politican from Alaska who must like to see her name in print?

I fault the press, the internet and TV for even covering this garbage and especially having that boy on TV. Son, its time to concentrate on school or getting a job. Its time to grow up and its time for everyone else to put forth their efforts in improving their private situations instead of talking about trivial matters about something that doesn't even concern you. People – drop it!!

Mark   April 8th, 2009 11:16 am ET

I saw this coming. The guy is trying to catch some of the limelight, at the Palin's expense AND we all know that.

Missouri   April 8th, 2009 11:15 am ET

A note to Gov. Palin: I don't know who your advisers are, but fire them.
If you had any interest in 2012 you should quietly have gone back to Alaska then reappear in 2011, instead You are now in transition from a creditable candidate to a national joke.

PSanAT   April 8th, 2009 11:15 am ET

I can't respect any of them for dragging their personal business in front of the cameras and reporters. And I sure don't respect the reporters who keep going after this story. Shame on the news businesses! That said, Palin DID make her view and her kids part of the issues in the campaign, so she IS reaping what she sewed. But NEWS PEOPLE, let these youngsters alone.

C W   April 8th, 2009 11:14 am ET

Can you imagine if McCain and Palin had won in November and we had this ridiculous sideshow going on – with real issues like the economy, jobs, the financial crisis, global warming and North Korea needing attention?

The way the Palin and Johnston families continue to carry on proves just how horrible John McCain's judgment is that he allowed Palin to be chosen as his running mate.

It also says volumes about the Republican Party these days. Because their social and economic policies have been proven so unequivocally wrong, they've been reduced to scraping the bottom of the tabloid barrel, in an effort to get attention.

How pathetic!

Janice   April 8th, 2009 11:14 am ET

Snobby? Maybe. But the Palins here are just being the cruel users and hypocrites they are but now they are doing it to their own children and their grandchild by engaging in these public statements. The proper response should be that she does not comment on family matters even if Levi continues to give interviews. Then the story would die down and perhaps this boy would try to resolve this in the family instead of in public. What executive in this country uses a paid spokesperson to make comments on the relationship issues in their own family? How would you like to be that spokesperson?

President Obama was kinder to the Palin children during the campaign telling the media to back off then the Palins themselves are.

Adam from Ohio   April 8th, 2009 11:14 am ET

GAHHH! Please! Talk ALL of these circus freaks out to an iceberg and set them adrift! Enough!

Homey   April 8th, 2009 11:14 am ET

Can we PLEASE stop airing these people's dirty laundry in the major media outlets? We have no reason to talk about Sarah Palin until at least 2011 and we have even less reason to talk about Bristol Palin's marital problems. I, for one, could care less about Levi Johnston or the circumstances that lead to whatever happened with them because Bristol Palin's situatoin never really mattered to me. How about you just let them live their lives and don't provide an outlet for this soap opera? Maybe report more about politics and real news?

Nick   April 8th, 2009 11:14 am ET

Seriously, this is news? How long are we going to have watch stories from so called journalists about teenagers in order to attack a politicians future? Amazing I guess the days of children being off limits is long gone. Where are all the Joe Biden's daughter stories? Thats what I thought!

Brent   April 8th, 2009 11:14 am ET

It seems clear that Levi was portrayed as good guy by Palin when it deemed to be beneficial to her campaign, but then once she lost she turns on him. Sarah thinks that family is something you use as a prop to further your personal and political goals, not something that has value in and of itself.

She is a political and intellectual lightweight that lashes out at everyone else when she fails. In other words, she's a republican.

Cindy Malin   April 8th, 2009 11:13 am ET

Who cares about this Levi dude!?!?! He is just looking for 30 seconds of fame and hoping to get money out of it. What a shame! Really, why would he stoop to such a low?

Cher   April 8th, 2009 11:13 am ET

There will always be people who hear something bad about a person and then hang on every word of it. Those who believe Levi want to believe him because it makes the Palins look bad and that's what you want. I'm not defending the Palins, Sarah is a bimbo. I feel sorry for the kids in this situation. I think this is a private matter that should be played out in family court not in the court of public opinion. Oh wait! The court of public opinion can get you money from people selling sensationalism.

Johnny from VA   April 8th, 2009 11:13 am ET

Levi is cashing in on his 15 minutes of fame while he can. I give him credit for realizing how being on TV and being famous can make you popular and loved. He learned that from Obama.

Maryann Rose   April 8th, 2009 11:13 am ET

For those saying Levi should just 'shut up':

1. This is America – free speech.

2. Since Palin has her eye on the 2012 presidential election, it's important for the American people to know what kind of person Sarah Palin really is, and Levi is giving his view of her.

3. If the situation was reversed, the neocons would never shut up about it!

gaysforpalin   April 8th, 2009 11:12 am ET

any man speaking publicly about his private (adult) relationship with any woman is classless, Levi.

dan   April 8th, 2009 11:12 am ET

Just to think, she almost became our president...Our country would have been in toilet! Thank God.

Kevin   April 8th, 2009 11:12 am ET

You're all missing the point - he's simply positioning himself for a run at the governor's office in Alaska.

Considering the incumbent and her constituency, he likely perceives himself as emminently qualified.

SayNoToRepublicans   April 8th, 2009 11:11 am ET

This story is not news worthy, however, Sarah Palin is the epitome of what the Republican party is all about: bigotry, greed, war mongering, forcing their religion onto others and no compassion for other human beings. Sarah Palin fits the Republican's deceitful and disgusting agenda perfectly.

stick with it, the Palins are wrong   April 8th, 2009 11:11 am ET

but they do have a lot of hot air, so you need to be in it for the long run and you may get fired from your job a couple of times

matthew   April 8th, 2009 11:10 am ET

Yeah, you would think they were snobby is you are a scumbag. Here's a hint Levi, when a thought enters your head, you don't have to say it aloud. Even a fool is wise when his mouth is closed.

Don in Albuquerque   April 8th, 2009 11:10 am ET

Does anybody really care who he is, and is this really news. I thought "The Guiding Light" was off now.

geecee   April 8th, 2009 11:10 am ET

Can anyone imagine what this country (let alone the entire world) would be like if McCain/Palin had won this election? We'd be living a soap opera with a not very happy ending for certain. At least we can look forward to having things get better and turning around in a few months to a year. Palin wouldn't have a clue, she'd be too busy trying to control her family life – although now that I think about it, it does have some comparisons to the War in Iraq now, doesn't it??

thanks, but no thanks   April 8th, 2009 11:10 am ET

Scary to think that she was this close to the White House and Presidency. Shame on M'Cain for playing with the future of this country for his political ambitions. l can not trust him anymore....

Joanna   April 8th, 2009 11:10 am ET

I bet Sarah is trying to keep him away from the baby after she failed at using her daughter, grandson and babies dad during the campaign for her personal fame and fortune. But it didn't work out for her so now she seeks vengeance on an 18 yr old. These poor kids. Sarah should show some maturity and do what is best for all these kids. Normal people deal with this all the time. A teen gets pregnant, many times the relationship fails and than compromises must be meet for the baby. Stop using these kids Sarah!!!! A real politician would not justify any of this. It is personal, keep it that way. You Sarah are bringing the drama. please do not blame this o anyone but yourself!!

Jackie   April 8th, 2009 11:09 am ET

Sarah Palin is an immature fame seeking incompetent idiot. Who is the adult here???????

Barry   April 8th, 2009 11:09 am ET

The press needs to move on. I don't understand why this kid still has a public platform.

Alexis   April 8th, 2009 11:08 am ET

What does drugs have to do with white trash? Anyway, I think this is great. All that Levi is trying to do is defend himself. Mrs. Palin didn't like the media knowing he was allowed to live with them, so as far as I can judge, she is lying about it to cover her butt. Nothing wrong with Levi throwing up the red flag and defending himself.

palins bad   April 8th, 2009 11:08 am ET

palin used Levi as long as it was to her advantage, but when she used him up, he was cast out like the garbage, in some of the pictures during the campaign it looked like she was trying to seduce him, he needs to tell his side, it's his right.

Ophelie   April 8th, 2009 11:08 am ET

The soap opera continues. Any comments, those of you who wished this nitwit was elected Vice President of this country ?

Maggie from Virginia   April 8th, 2009 11:07 am ET

The bible say's "you reap what you sow". If Sarah was a true Christian, she would have known this.

Jason   April 8th, 2009 11:07 am ET

All I can say is "wow".

I'm so glad the grown-ups are running the country.

Stick a fork in these people; they're done.

Sniffit   April 8th, 2009 11:06 am ET

Could Palin be any more obvious about trying to set up this poor guy for losing any custody of his child? Just wait until the papers are filed in the probate court...then we'll really see how much she's willing to ruin her career.

Cynthia - Arkansas   April 8th, 2009 11:06 am ET

Can we go one day without having to hear about her? The election is over! Move on.

Ghost   April 8th, 2009 11:04 am ET

What's really funny is if she actually wound up in the white house. I can see McCain trying to have a press conferencee, yet being interrupted by Levi and Bristol having another arguement. Or worse, him coming by on every other weekend to pick up his son.

How embarrasing!

Laverne   April 8th, 2009 11:03 am ET

Everybody keep saying the Palins and Levi are a non issue and CNN should stop reporting on them. However, these people continue to inject themselves in the media doing interviews and giving statements. They all need to just take a chill pill and stop talking to the media about personal stuff. It is unfortunate that Levi is doing the old "kiss and tell" thing, but I guess he feel the need to defend himself. I hope Bristol stays in school and do not have another child under the same circumstances. She is a grown woman now and we all should respect that. I hope little Willow and Piper won't go down the same road.

MW in MD   April 8th, 2009 11:03 am ET

Every night I watch "All My Children" and right now that show is tame compared to "All My Palins". Family values? What a joke!

NK?   April 8th, 2009 11:02 am ET

He was Used, and I said it over, and over again during the campagin. Levi, should just stay away from them altogether. Pay the Support and obtain a lawyer to get visitation rights away from the Palins. '

Who care about Sarah Palin – she is a goner! The Pregnancy would have been hidden longer if Sarah Palin had it her way. John McCain should be ashamed for putting this nutcase in front of the world to see with all this drama she has going on in her own life.

I’m still amazed that she’s a governor – but I guess the voters didn’t realize she was so far out of her league. Skipping debates, and Leg. meetings just because she doesn’t have the “First Dude” there to give his talking points is a true sign of her ineptness! What a Shame. I really feel sorry for Levi, and I do believe him – Look at what happen to her ex brother in-law. He looked so uncomfortable with them and I knew all of that crap Sarah Palin was saying was a lie!

I do hope there is another party stewing because the republican's are losing ground fast with dimwits like Sarah Palin. This is not the party of family values and morales anymore Sarah Palin and a few others have destroyed that notion.

P. from Carolina   April 8th, 2009 11:02 am ET

I think this whole things could have been avoided if candidate for V.P. Palin had left her daughter at home and this poor young man out of the spotlight. It is unfortunate that these two young people were paraded out in front of the public, and when this young man was no longer needed to make the candidate look good, he was discarded. Let these two young people go back to being young, let them grow up and raise their young son, and stay out of the public limelight. Governor Palin, shame on you. Don't use your child as a prop for your own political gain. Let Bristol and Levi be young and please all of you think of this young baby who has to grow up with both families.

once upon a horse   April 8th, 2009 11:02 am ET

never have been a fan of Gov Palin, but this is basically tabloid type stuff and really has no bearing on what's going on in our country today. All this does is soup of the Palin-haters and gives them something more to laugh at her about. Just watch the number of responses this story gets. I think it's time to move on from the Palins and let them go to the tabloids where this kind of stuff belongs.

MrRevolution   April 8th, 2009 11:02 am ET

The whole thing is a big joke. I don't have much respect for either party. Pregnancy before marriage is a sin according to "High Values" conservatives. I am glad that we did not elect McCain to presidency otherwise Palin would be running the country into Alaskan ground by now. So much for conservative values.

bill   April 8th, 2009 11:02 am ET

No need to criticize Sarah Palin or try and expose her true nature. She is doing quite well on her own -showing how two-face and insincere she really is. She is a self-serving user -but she is really good at it.

Steve In California   April 8th, 2009 11:01 am ET

Wow! This is getting like the Jerry Springer Show. Will there soon be big muscular guys in black t-shirts standing between Levi's family and the Palin's to prevent them from physically attacking each other?

Sarah is politically pretty savvy. I'm sure in reality she couldn't care less what Levi and his family says. What she IS doing is desperately trying to keep her name in the news so that we don't quickly forget her. In her twisted little world, airing her family's dirty laundry makes her a viable presidential candidate. The only thing she is doing is assuring that she will not be that.

Clark   April 8th, 2009 11:01 am ET

no matter what the truth is .... if Levi was a standup kind of guy ... then he wouldn't be saying or doing anything that would hurt Bristol's reputation.

Bananarama Victim   April 8th, 2009 11:01 am ET

He's not a punk.

He's a teenager who was thrust into the spotlight as a campaign prop and was kicked to the curb after he was no longer useful.

Now the Palin camp tries to distort reality – big surprise.

Who's to say who's lying, after all Levi did pal around with known liars – the Palins.

Belle1   April 8th, 2009 11:01 am ET

The difference between the interviews of Levi and Bristol?

Bristol did not disrespect Levi once in her interview. She did not demean Levi's family once.

Yet, here is Levi, bashing Palin? As a Democrat, I find his and his family's behavior appalling. But then, the fact the PRESS would give him the time of day shows how much more gossip means than factual digging.

Many of the comments here are equally repulsive. That is why CNN is losing credibility as an unbiased reporting source.

John Tate   April 8th, 2009 11:01 am ET

What is most amusing is the the Palins are using a paid government spokesman to argue with a teenager.

Susan   April 8th, 2009 11:01 am ET

Wow, some ugly and hateful comments here again. Sarah Palin never said she could see Russia from her house......Tina Fey anyone? But that's ok for you libs to continue to believe that story since you've believed every hope and promise your Messiah spewed at you and has yet to deliver. Any young man who trashes the mother of his baby is a punk and I sure hope the Palins go after the money the DNC is paying him for child support since he's not working or supporting his baby.

Debra Hasan   April 8th, 2009 11:01 am ET

Linda/Cali   April 8th, 2009 11:00 am ET

I agree with Marissa – she was spot on. Levi should count his blessings that Sarah Palin is not going to be his monster-in-law the same way 70% of America is counting our blessings that she isn't our VP. She's not white trash...that'd be a step up. She's 'Republican Trash'.

Joseph   April 8th, 2009 11:00 am ET

My fellow Americans Democrats Independents and yes even you republicans, we Dodged a Very Large Bullet this past election. Thank every God on record that this woman and her Jerry springer antics are not taking place in the American peoples White House.

A little sad   April 8th, 2009 11:00 am ET

If Palin wants a political future, she better see that fair custody and/or visitation rights are worked out with Levi.

If Levi did not bring this to media attention, is family would be completely rolled over.

Sarah Palin would be dragging around her newest prop – er, grandchild, to the exclusion of that ellusive item, the best interest of the baby.

Or does she just consider the best interest of the child irrelevant?

Uncle Ellsworthy   April 8th, 2009 10:59 am ET

Levi is just milking it for all it's worth. You idiots are falling for it. All he wants is money and 15 minutes of fame. If his family is not white trash then explain the drug thing. Thats all folks.

Missy in KY   April 8th, 2009 10:59 am ET

Who is on a "quest for fame, attention, and fortune"? I think Sarah Palin was talking about herself. She's the one starved for attention.

Robin in SC   April 8th, 2009 10:59 am ET

I believe Levi and feel sorry for the kid. His sister is right...the Palins should have known what was coming when they dressed him up and paraded him in front of America. He has nothing to lose by telling the truth, unlike Grandma Sarah. Trailer trash or not, he's the baby's Daddy and has a right to speak his mind and try to clear up Palin's public trashing of him and his family.

Sam7   April 8th, 2009 10:59 am ET

How could Palin be a governor of a state if she can’t even govern her own home? All she can do is flap her jaw, point fingers or play the innocent victim.
This lady truly embodies the essence of ‘White Trash’…

Of course, the actions of Caribou Barbie is not shocking... disappointing, but not shocking. After all the lying done by the Palin's during the campaign, it's not a large stretch of trust to believe the young man over Palin. It's sad that he has to go through this though... be glad you escaped her while you can... there are other caribou out there that might not get away like you...

John Tate   April 8th, 2009 10:59 am ET

If Palin had half a brain then she'd just say "no comment" or "we ask everyone to let these young people work out their problems privately." Instead she just wants to trash him like she did her former brother-in-law. Why isn't the arrest of Palin's sister-in-law for burglary (accompanied by her 4 year old) getting coverage? The Palin's are the white trash half of this equation.

Bob in VA   April 8th, 2009 10:58 am ET

LOL This is great. While GOPers are mocking President Obama for jousting with "private citizens" Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney, Palin is jousting with an 18-year-old kid. Now, that is really acting presidential.

I cannot stop laughing at this moron. She is god's gift to Democrats and comedians.

Levi, you break up with your girlfriend, who is the mother of your child, and you go on t.v. and get into an inter-family argument? But you're saying you're not white trash? I think you are, and I'm white. You need to grow up, get a job, or go back to school, or do SOMETHING constructive. It doesn't matter if the Palin family is snobby, who cares? Will that help fix anything? No. Will this get you a job? No. You need to grow up, take charge of your life, help take care of your kid, and stop throwing your little temper tantrum. Stop being a show boat, no one cares. People are really looking down on you.

If Levi has broken the cycle of shot-gun weddings for the Palin Clan in Alaska, he has done a service to the country :)

That Gov Palin feels the need to respond via press releases and lower herself to this level as if the rest of the country cares.... I think McCain should be ashamed that he didn't really research this VP option very well before launching her on us.

She needs to stop – and let this kid be the dad that he is capable of being rather than just another sperm donor.

Marek   April 8th, 2009 10:56 am ET

I think it is Palin and her family who are white trash. It is her responsibility to educate her children about contraception and safe sex! It doesn't look like these words exist in her republican dictionary. America has the highest teen pregnancy and STD in the entire civilized world and Palin is just a horrible role model. We need smarter people in the office. The only good think about Palin running again is unbelievably funny SNL ... I kind of miss that.

The Palin's are the biggest hypocrites to waltz along into the GOP since the outgoing Bush's. Unbelievable!!!

They have absolutely no morals or family values, and I believe Levi when he states the Palin's have become "snobs". You could see that coming a mile away. So much for the image of "soccer mom". They are all deceitful, lying hypocrites!

A self-righteous Canadian   April 8th, 2009 10:53 am ET

A snob? No, she's the "Down-to-Earth" "Hockey-mom-next-door" "Jill Sixpack", remember?

Sure, she might have all those religious exculsionist views (homosexual? You dont deserve equal rights. Belief in evolutionist theory? Not in MY schools), and she might believe anyone not on her side of the isle is patently un-American, but that hardly makes her a SNOB.

Now those Obamas, with their pro-bono work and community outreach, THOSE are snobs. I mean, come on. All those fancy words they use and on topic responses they give, they obviously have nothing in common with AVERAGE americans.

So, just to be clear: Republicans who feel comfortable excluding those who are not just like them but speak poorly = Average joes. Democrats who offer temperance and civil concern but speak well = snobs.

Remember your talking points, people. [/end sarcasm]

Bristol Palin began to go deteriorate when Sarah Palin returned to Alaska after the presidential election in Alaska.

"I think when she got back is when it went downhill," he said. "They don't think of me the same way anymore."

And this I believe becasue there was notmore use for the kid after Sara lost.

SC girl   April 8th, 2009 10:52 am ET

This is a normal family, but I think Bristol and Levi should have been left to their own lives. There is too much interference from both families, including Mercedes. All young couples have problems, but if their families aren't there to take sides, then the young couples usually work things out just like the rest of us always did. They all need to quit communicating throught TV! Immature on all of their parts.

None of the principals involved in this saga are the best that the US has to offer. That is the good and the bad news.

Entertaining yet sad...   April 8th, 2009 10:50 am ET

On the one hand, I find this all extraordinarily entertaining given that I've had zero respect for Palin since the day she was named VP-candidate (admittedly I am a democrat, but there are definitely intelligent republican women who have my respect even if they'd not get my vote and she is NOT one of them). I also think Levi's sister makes a good point, Sarah thrust her pregnant 17-year old in the national spotlight when she could have declined mccain gracefully, remained governor, and tried for national politics in eight or twelve years. She put herself and these two high schoolers out in the media spotlight for her own political gain and now she's paying for it. That said, my heart goes out to both Bristol and Levi, they're way too young to be expected to deal with this all as mature adults especially given that the adults in both their lives are so utterly inept and immature themselves.

The real Sarah Palin will slowly emerge as insiders come forth to tell their story. People like her cannot hide under a rock as they will say and do anything to win a popular campaign just to get where they want to be. Palin is a narcissistic, opportunistic and vicious human being. Her slaughter of the wolves and personal killing of magnificent animals tell all. She will at the end fade in the sunset as she licks her "wounds". Karma is right upon her by now.

ng in dc   April 8th, 2009 10:49 am ET

Good for Levi - tell your side of the story man. The country needs to really hear from a Palin insider how much of an opportunist your crazy Governor ...and grandmama of your kid ...is ....warning to Levi...watch your back man ...but keep on trucking...

Let the johnston-palin feud begin. old sarah is getting her just deserts for all the lies she tells everytime she opens her mouth. I feel sorry for this kid. So the best thing for him to do is go back to school and get an education (he'll probably sound more educated than his almost mother-in-law) and raise he son.

The Palins are showing their true colors. They do look like big snobs.

markus   April 8th, 2009 10:48 am ET

i believe these kids...and what's the big deal about him speaking out? Alot got said about him and his family, and now that he's no longer under the PALIN thumb, I think it's only fair he let the TRUTH be known, instead of those Palins weaving the tale for him...

MICHAEL   April 8th, 2009 10:47 am ET

Do the Palin's believe that their actions are those of Christians? Because of Sarah Palin's presidential asperations she and her family will step of anyone to get there. Just remember, Sarah, as a self proclaimed Christian, you reap what you sow.

Teenage Moderate from WI   April 8th, 2009 10:47 am ET

Why won't this kid just shut his mouth? Why does anyone in America care about his story? Why should I care about his story any more than the 19 year old down the hall from me?

Seriously, in my opinion, I think this kid thinks too highly of himself. I am by NO means a Palin supporter, but Levi needs to shut up!

Roland   April 8th, 2009 10:47 am ET

Oh those poor people they have such a rough life. I guess when you can see Russia from your back yard it must take it's toll on your mental stability after awhile. As long as they don't show up on the Jerry Springer show I'm ok with this. Sarah, Sarah, Sarah when will you ever learn ! The American People are jobless and on the welfare dime and this is what we are talking about as a nation in trouble ! Wakeup People.

Ed, Santa Fe, NM   April 8th, 2009 10:47 am ET

The truth is Palin is being gussied up (lipstick on a pig) for national politics and cannot afford the non-marriage between the dopey daughter and Levi. So he's been cut free and trashed to further Palin's cleansing.

Unfortunately, Palin is still a boob with no experience relevant to national office and continues to play the "victim" in all events. For a woman who cannot speak proper English, Palin's new facade only showcases her stupidity, dishonesty, and lack of class.

Back to the trailer on the tundra for Palin!

the dude   April 8th, 2009 10:46 am ET

Would you want Sarah Palin for your mother-in-law?

No more GOP   April 8th, 2009 10:46 am ET

What's important to remember is that Palin's word counts for nothing. She's an evil, sinister woman, whose brood is bent on world domination through the use of the church.

hahahaah, that made me laugh

GM from MN   April 8th, 2009 10:46 am ET

"Palin family spokesman Meghan Stapleton said Johnston and his family are on a "quest for fame, attention, and fortune."

--

Thats funny........I thought it was the other way around.

She tried pushing McCain out of the way so she would be in the spotlight.

JJ   April 8th, 2009 10:46 am ET

I feel sorry for Levi. I sense he knows who he is. On the other hand, the Palins are "snobby" only in their "trashy" world.

GET REAL.   April 8th, 2009 10:46 am ET

Next up on Jerry Springer: Ex-presidents and the interns that loved them... and stick around folks, because we'll have a talk with a vice president runner-up who secretly covets her daughter's baby-daddy... and she's throwing him under the bus for shunning her advances!!

candian pov   April 8th, 2009 10:46 am ET

Sarah Palin needs a lesson in grace. Fighting a mere boy in the tabloids says more about her than it does about him.

Ken   April 8th, 2009 10:46 am ET

Isn't it appalling that this is supposedly "the best" the GOP has to offer? (After all, the GOP selected her as the VP candidate– if elected, the second most powerful position in our country.) All Palin can offer now is more of her trailer-trash life: a war-of-words with the redneck teenager that knocked-up her daughter on HER WATCH!

I used to have some respect for McCain, but his decision to put this absurd neo-monkey on his ticket was just pathetic...a bow to the intellectually bankrupt, rightwing underbelly of this nation. He sold his soul, and made an obviously WRONG decision in doing so. It is so clear now that he would have made a terrible president.

J   April 8th, 2009 10:46 am ET

Alaska...can you PLEASE do the rest of us a favor and stop voting for this awful woman? Don't re-elect her if she runs for Governor again...don't send her to the House or the Senate. Kick her to the curb and stop rewarding her for being a smug, self-righteous, controlling, ignorant, intolerant moron.

KLK   April 8th, 2009 10:45 am ET

This is a sad situation all around. Nobody wins if this continues.

pen15   April 8th, 2009 10:45 am ET

Levi would be better off keeping his mouth shut and not giving interviews with the media. He has a child to raise and he seems more concerned about trash-talking his son's maternal family just to stretch his 15 minutes of fame. Also, his sister sounds like a real winner, too.

USMC - Mike   April 8th, 2009 10:45 am ET

Palin probably missed Levi sneaking in and out of the house while she was busying "seeing" Russia from her back porch ...

Doug, New Jersey   April 8th, 2009 10:45 am ET

This kid is getting enough money from the left to last him a lifetime. I'm glad that lib hate is doing something productive, securing the future of this kid and his family.

All fair-minded people should observe how the libs attack anyone and everyone who would dare to question their lies and speak the truth about them. No American citizen should be put through what people like Joe the plumber was put through for simply asking the Messiah a question. Just imagine what Obama and his lib thugs would do if they got a second term. That might just be our last election and American citizens on the right might end up in camps. The way they have been acting, you really can't put any of this past them.

Yetty for Obama 08!   April 8th, 2009 10:44 am ET

Sarah Palin should never be allowed anywhere near the white house. Oh my God, what rubbish, can you imagine if this was Obama's family, imagine all the racial inotation "maury povich " baby daddy drama the GOP would spout!

Nick   April 8th, 2009 10:44 am ET

The lengths many of these news outlets are going to in attempt to villify Sarah Palin is amazing. This isn't news. She's not the vice president, so why even bother? Oh poor Levi... you are such a victim of this cruel, heartless family. *Sob*

Concerned citizen   April 8th, 2009 10:44 am ET

Are we really suprised about this whole issue?Sarah Palin showed america what she is about during the campaign.
Just another reason the republicans popularity sank to the floor. To think they STILL believe she is a contender?
I'am a democrat and I love it! GOP self destructing!

Salas   April 8th, 2009 10:44 am ET

Just kinda vice presidential stuff we would have endured had she made it to WH.Whats wrong with freedom of speech!Guess its only meant for the pallin's,,,,,,,,,God bless america

Frank   April 8th, 2009 10:44 am ET

Please–This guy is a bozo; that he is part of the "national agenda" is sickening. He's about as relevant as naked arms.

USMC - Mike   April 8th, 2009 10:44 am ET

LOL

I'm glad the Palin family is all about finished ... Isn't their 15 mins of fame all about used up ?

Sue M   April 8th, 2009 10:43 am ET

This poor guy was used to make her unwed pregnant daughter look better in the eyes of the people, (making everyone think they were going to be married so it was OK) I would believe this kid before I believe Sarah Palin, what has this kid got to lose but for Sarah to have to admit that they let them live together, she stand to lose a lot more so she has got to LIE.........Sarah will probably try to keep this boy from being the Father of this child and use her POWERS of office as in Troopergate to keep him away.....

Marissa   April 8th, 2009 10:43 am ET

I think Levi should have been a gentleman and keep his mouth shut. That would be respectful to the mother of his child.

However I believe him. I think Sarah Palin is the biggest hypocrite I ever met. She keeps saying leave her family alone but exploits them more than any politician I ever saw. I do not blame Palin for Bristols pregnancy, the best families can have errors in judgement. I do blame her for thrusting her family in the spotlight over and over again for politcal gain then complaining when someone dares not make them out to be the "Brady Bunch" Levi your were used hon, go to college make a life for yourself , be a man and stay as much in your sons life as you can.

And count yourself lucky that Sarah Palin is NOT your mother in law

Hispanic in Dallas, TX   April 8th, 2009 10:43 am ET

This uneducated young man should stop all this talk and get himself to work to help support his son; get an education and some common sense.

Looks like he's just trying to cash in and make some money. I'm sure his family needs it with his mom's legal problem, etc. etc.

Go home Levi and grow up!

Farrell, Houston, Tx   April 8th, 2009 10:42 am ET

Sarah Palin was pregnant when she ran off and married Todd and now she is treating Levi like dirt. Sarah Palin used Levi for her own self serving purposes in order to present Bristol to the world as an "engaged pregnant teenager" and it was very obvious. It's ashame Levi didn't see that he was being used and Sarah Palin needs to apologize to this young man and stop hiding behind a "spokesperson". Sarah Palin has no "family values".

Freed_From_W   April 8th, 2009 10:42 am ET

Not news.

joe   April 8th, 2009 10:42 am ET

He is just a young man he has a right to speak about it.... at least he doesn't have a spokesperson speaking for him unlike the palins

Cathy in AZ   April 8th, 2009 10:41 am ET

The campaign used this young man and now all are paying the price. I feel badly for the baby as it seems the families are doing nothing to try to get along. That being said, somehow I believe the young man and I think the american public has had enough of the Sarah Palin show.
Those of us in AZ should think long and hard about re-electing John McCain to the Senate – he is responsible for releasing Sarah Palin on center stage. What does that say about his judgement. Now we can't get her to just go back and govern Alaska and GO AWAY!

Greg in Colorado   April 8th, 2009 10:41 am ET

If I were him I would be counting my blessing that I was off the ship before it sank. Levi, be thankful for the small blessings that come in small packages. Welcome to reality where people can't see Russia from their backyards and bridges actually go somewhere.

His family IS trailer trash.....   April 8th, 2009 10:41 am ET

just take a look at his mother and listen to her talk--this is white trash at it's lowest--

Erik in Real Pennsylvania   April 8th, 2009 10:41 am ET

Snobby? Ha. The Palins are the height of redneck. This is Jerry Springer material. Thank goodness the nation wised up and didn't elect Sarah Palin as VP. What a cartoon. Sarah Palin is divisive, ignorant and self-serving: the perfect face for the "new" Republican Party.

steve manhattan   April 8th, 2009 10:41 am ET

if the guy helps care for the baby, he is alright by me. nothing else matters.

djb   April 8th, 2009 10:40 am ET

i have thought that the palin's were nothing more than white trash themselves from the beginning among other things for worse.

Lisa Habmed   April 8th, 2009 10:38 am ET

Good grief. This is not helping the young man's case if he really wants to see his son more. I hope Governor Palin does not respond with another foolish press release. Too much family drama.

Frank2   April 8th, 2009 10:38 am ET

Poor Levi Wooten barracuda victim Johnston

frank , pennsylvania   April 8th, 2009 10:38 am ET

I have always doubted Sarah Palin's moral integrity from day one. It is all a "whitewash" conservatism, she is not genuinely conservative. This "whitewash" conservatism adopted by some politicians to score political points, eventually wears away, when the real truth emerges! We shall hear more about Sarah Palin in future!

Lynn   April 8th, 2009 10:37 am ET

Palin used Johnson as she dressed him up and paraded him onstage, and sprinkled hints of an upcoming wedding.

Sarah Palin is a user and an opportunist who is for earmarks and then against them, is against Stevens and then for him and pretends she is a model mother as she drags her children from one campaign after another using them a stage props.

This woman she never be near the White House!!

Mike Dallas   April 8th, 2009 10:36 am ET

Since Palin was pregant when she married Todd and now Bristol, if I were Levi, I would insist on a paternity test.

Obviously "abstinence" is only a word to the Palin women.

Mercede makes an excellent point, Levi was ok when Bristol needed a "baby daddy" to trot out for all the world to see, but after the half-wit lost he is just excess baggage now.

How republican of Palin.

MN Mom   April 8th, 2009 10:35 am ET

Ummmm........the Palin family spokesman may want to come up with something other than that Johnston is on a "quest for fame, attention, and fortune". It seems like Palin is the pot calling the kettle black :) :):) For goodness sakes Palin herself is on a "quest for fame, attention and fortune" - that is for sure!!!! It is OK for her to do it, but not for anyone else? Give me a break! She is the hugest hypocrite!

Sharon- Birmingham, Al   April 8th, 2009 10:35 am ET

The McCain-Palin campaign used this guy and now they are done and so is he. He was a tool just like Joe the – whatever- he is now.

Politically Incorrect   April 8th, 2009 10:35 am ET

The Palins used Levi as a prop in the campaigan and threw him aside when it was done.

You don't have to look far to see other aspects of this type of explotation of people by the Palin family, or exploitation of their position of power in the state.

Americans never want people with these types of morals and ethics in national office.

obama/mama   April 8th, 2009 10:32 am ET

Sarah needs to get off her hillbilly high horse and leave Bristol and Levi alone to make their own decisions. She seems very controlling. The horse is out of the barn and she should not stand in the way of Levi seeing his child.
