Meghan McCain mum on potential Palin Support

(CNN) - She's become decidedly more outspoken since her father lost his bid for the presidency last November, but there's one question Meghan McCain refuses to answer: whether she sees herself supporting Sarah Palin should the Alaska governor run for president.

In an interview on CNN's "No Bias, No Bull" Wednesday night, the daughter of Arizona Sen. John McCain said she couldn't "possibly make a prediction about 2012 right now."

"I honestly don't think that's a relevant question," McCain said when asked if she would support her father's running mate. "I have to find out who is running in 2012, I mean, what - there's broad personalities that happen. And it's four years from now. A lot of things can happen. A lot of things can change.

"...I have to see who else is on the table."

It's not the first time the usually blunt McCain daughter has gone silent on the issue of the former vice presidential candidate. McCain told an interviewer in January, "Sarah Palin is the only part of the campaign that I won't comment on publicly."

It seems to me that Meghan is a smart cookie who thinks for herself. There's no way the McCain camp can come out and declare that Palin cost him the election, but that might be how Meghan sees it. I think her hesitance to respond indicates she's NOT a Palin supporter.

As we saw in the Meghan McCain v. Anne Coulter battle, Meghan is not a fan of extreme right-wing politics. I would put Palin and Anne Coulter in the same camp, so I'd bet Meghan is not a fan of Palin....

    Meghan is one smart cookie.

If Republicans had more fresh faces with pragmatic ideas instead of dogma, they wouldn't be the laughing stock of American politics.

This is such a great young woman who could teach the GOP how to THINK and for sure how to ACT!!!!... and within a few years how to LEAD!!!

I love Sarah to death. She's what an American woman is made out of, but she DOES not have what it takes YET. We will all be better off with a Huckabee or a Mitt. Huck 2012! They have made tough decisions before and they have a robust background to prove their tough decisions.

Meghan McCain is smart enough to know that Sarah Palin is the Paris Hilton of politics. Palin is virtual suicide for the GOP.

Obviously, Meghan knows that if you can't say something nice...don't say anything at all. Sometimes saying nothing speaks the loudest.

Megan you are being used by the left. Why else would they be asking someone with no experience at all to discuss anything. You don't know a thing about working people or how anything effects us. You do not speak for the Republican party, you are not a conservative, so stop trying to alter our beliefs because WE WILL NOT CHANGE, WE STAND FOR OUR BELIEFS!!! It's embarrassing watching you on CNN speak, as if you have a clue what you're talking about, you're being USED, give it up.

Why does the media continue to report stories about 2012 election? Is there not enough going on in today's political world to actually do some journalism and reporting? This story is irrelevant to current American political news.

Silence can say a whole lot more.

She's right. That question is ridiculous. How could she possibly know who is going to run and who she is going to support?

Sarah Palin is just the gal to lead the Conservative Party into a well-deserved and, hopefully, final oblivion. Go, Sarah, Go!

Well it makes sense that she doesn't want to decide who to back until she sees who (else) is in the field at the time of the election.

I haven't decided yet either, can I get a story on the ticker?

Well, my mama always told me that if you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything. Looks like Meghan got the same advice.

She sound like a very smart young lady who has been hurt how the media and Mrs Palin has commented about her dad.

Also, some of her earlier comments give the appearance she is one of the new thinking Republican and is not a Fox News, Newt and Rush Repug which is great. I am happy she has separated from the hate gang.

I am a Democratic(liberal) without an apology. She will be the type thinker that could cause problems for us in 2012.

Seems to me we have all heard enough from the McCain's daughter and father about Sarah Palin, and we certainly heard enough from her, give it a rest. Enough is enough!!

I bet she has been told to keep her trap shut. Otherwise, she will be exploited more by the liberal left media.
