WASHINGTON (CNN) - The campaign arm for Republican senators is soliciting donations in a new national Web ad that accuses President Barack Obama of bowing to Saudi Arabia King Abdullah during the recent G-20 Summit.
The ad, which appeared on the Drudge Report Friday and scheduled to run for several days, shows a picture of Obama greeting Abdullah at the summit with the headline: Should America Bow to a King?
Readers are asked to click on the “Yes” or “No” button on the ad and it directs them to a Web page where they are then asked to contribute or provide a name and e-mail address to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
“Should the president of the world’s pre-eminent superpower be groveling at the feet of a Saudi King,” the NRSC asks visitors, who are also able to watch a short FOX News clip of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich knocking the White House for denying that Obama bowed to Abdullah.
“Well, I think he bent over with both – to shake with both hands to shake his hand,” Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said on Thursday. When asked again if Obama bowed, Gibbs answered “No.”
In addition to the Web ad, the NRSC e-mailed political supporters Thursday stating the same criticism.
"In light of the bizarre denial from the White House, the NRSC is simply presenting two questions to the American people: Do they believe the White House's explanation that this was not a bow? And if they don't, do they think it's appropriate for the leader of the free world to be bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia?” NRSC spokesman Brian Walsh said to CNN. “It's not an attack ad – it's simply raising a fair question."
Walsh also told CNN that in just a few hours of the Web ad appearing on the Drudge Report more than 4,000 people have provided the NRSC with their email addresses.

So holding the Saudi King's hand and kissing him on the cheek is okay but bowing in a greeting gesture is not?!?!?
Wow....just WOW!
This is the same thinking that says getting a young teenage girl pregnant is okay but living under the same roof is taboo.
....and that is why you fail!
The DSCC didn't pull the same stunt the time Bush bowed in respect to the Saudi King, kissed him on the cheek, and even held his hand. Desperate is what they are.
No right-wing talking points are sticking, are they?
They all just appear desperate and foolish now!
Robert Gibbs had the perfect retort: "Yeah, this happened a week ago, and it wasn't news then either..."
Didnt W Kiss and Hug him?
So what if he did. I believe that that is the proper thing to do from an ettiquette standpoint. He probably bowed to the Queen of England as well. Big freakin' deal. But what would republicans know about proper ettiquette?
It would be pretty funny if the GOP weren't a wholly owned subsidiary of the Saudi government.
You mean Bush and Cheney's family – the Royalty of Saudi Arabia
He obviously bowed, why does the white house continue to insult our intelligence? Why can't they just admit he BOWED?
So the Queen of England hugged Michelle Obama. Barack Obama bowed to the King of theSaudis. So WHAT? These people can do what they want. I remember George Bush holding hands with the King like homosexual lovers do. I thought that to be demeaning. No one complained. Republicans need to get a life.
He showed respect to a another leader, that is something the GOP knows NOTHING about. I mean GW held hands and kissed the guy.
The GOP becomes more and more childisch and totally out stupid..
Isn't there footage of Bush holding the King's hand and showing him his favorite flowers? Who cares about this stuff?
Once again the Republicans are grasping at straws. If you look at the film you can see that President Obama was clearly picking up something with his left hand. You can see the object in his left hand as he reached to shake the Saudi King's hand with his right hand. But even if he did, SO WHAT. If the Republicans spent as much time trying to come up with ideas to work with the President on OUR problems as they do trying to discredit our President WE THE PEOPLE would be better off. The Republicans knew they were not going to support THIS president before he swore in, and that's a shame.
You repubs are freakin disgraceful. You are in one's country you respect their customs. It is their custom to hold hands, kiss on cheek and bow. Bush did it also.
When they are here we shake hands. Quit bashing Obama on trivial
repub. bs– MORONS
Obama was observing common courtesy and protocol. It's the past president who did the groveling, as he kept us dependent on mideast oil. I say move to another energy source and forget about the whole region.
Whining, jealous, do nothing republicans.
Why is this even news? They were silent for the last 8 years and not many care about what they think now. What a joke.
Bush and Company groveled even after the saudi terroists crashed into the twin towers–but thats ok. attack Iraq and do business with the terrorist's family–if this is the best the repubies can do –sit back relax and watch them make fools out of theirselves dont forget the popcorn!!
GO OBAMA
He bowed because his heart is that of a Muslim. When was the last time he attended a Sunday Christian service?
I greatly prefer out president to face the king as he bows. Given the level of PDA Bush gave this king, I'm certain he wasn't facing him when he bowed in private...he was just begging for more lube.
The Republicans will use anything. It doesn't matter to them if they've done the same or more. It doesn't matter to them if they know it's meaningless. It doesn't matter to them if they know it's a lie, even.
They are all about inflaming the rubes, and you'll see plenty of people inflamed over this nonsense. The core Republicans are so primed for anger and hate that a little manipulation by the RNC doesn't bother them.
It's a dangerous time in America. The Republicans are willing to treat politics as war, and some (more) of their weak-minded followers are going to take up arms over this kind of BS. The RNC doesn't care.
Excuse me, but didn't Bush practically soul-kiss every Saudi prince he got within three feet of?
oh. so now it's wrong to show respect to others? who cares if he bowed or not? oh yeah. the 'haters' dont like being respectful. thank god they are only 20 % of the country.
I am totally tired and disgusted with the Republican party. They are hate mongers, unpatriotic, and so out of touch with life. They only care about the rich and they can only govern out of fear and hate.
I wonder how many of you claim to be Christain.

"The DSCC didn't pull the same stunt the time Bush bowed in respect to the Saudi King, kissed him on the cheek, and even held his hand. Desperate is what they are."
cough*LIAR*.
Bush never bowed to the Saudi king.
Some guy
"So what if he did. I believe that that is the proper thing to do from an ettiquette standpoint. He probably bowed to the Queen of England as well. Big freakin' deal. But what would republicans know about proper ettiquette?"
You're just mistaken, not an obvious liar. He did not bow to the Queen of England, and that is part of the problem for some. It is not proper for a head of state to bow to another head of state.
This was a simple mistake and would be laughed at and forgotten if people like Gibbs didn't think they could turn into attack dogs.
It seems to me that Bush/Cheney bowed to the devil for 8 years and bowed to Bin Laden after leaving for Iraq so dont criticize Obama for showing some respect. You cowboys talk that tough guy act but hide behind your guns when really you just cowards..Learn some manners because half of you never been to another country or been to a warzone let alone left them woods your holed up in deers dont shoot back.
GOP keep reminding me to go out and vote against them the next elections. They can talk all they want but just remember you hold the power to vote, and that is the strongest message you can send against them!
