(CNN) – Michelle Obama stopped at the Department of Homeland Security Tuesday, thanking employees for working on the "president's greatest concerns and priorities."
"If you do your jobs well, few people will ever know about anything that you do," she said. "For others, the hope is that you never have to execute much of what you work so hard to prepare for."
The first lady also gave a special mention to the "excellence" of the Secret Service, who operate under the DHS, for the safety of her family.
"Every day I see how much time they spend away from their own families to keep mine safe," she said. "And it has been an honor to get to know each and every one of them throughout the course of the campaign, and our day-to-day interactions."

It is great that she wants to speak out but she is not an elected official.
She should find something that she loves and get involved and champion it. She should not be running around to all these government agencies and making speaches.
She is married to the man in charge she is not the one in charge

Michelle Obama is the 1st First Lady in history to have a paid, full-time make-up artist on staff. You see, the thing with the obamas is 'do as I say, not as I do'.
Finally....a first lady that is nothing short of total class!
She also happens to be human unlike Laura Bush the robot.
What a lovely thing for her to do. She's so genuine and down-to-earth but very classy at the same time. I'm really proud that she's our country's First Lady.

The Secret Service is doing their job keeping the Obama family safe. The question to ask is whether Obama is doing the same thing for America?

The 2 of you really got it bad. Can't you make an attitude change and acknowledge something positive when it happens and stop being so critical?
Michelle Obama is making every effort to help people keep positive attitudes in hard times. We don't need a lot of negative. There was more than enough of it thrust upon us when our retirement accounts got robbed by the financial sector.

Praising the organization that singles out the men/women who veil her country in safety is insulting and degrading to men/women in uniform...AND out of uniform. Shame on you, Mrs Obama and DOUBLE shame on DHS...
michelle obama crosses all manner of lines...not the least of which is her wonderful ability to make BOTH women AND men extremely proud! she is NOT, however, a class ACT...rather she is a class REALITY!!!
