WASHINGTON (CNN) – Illinois Republican Rep. Aaron Schock is hoping a recent magazine profile will help him in Washington's bustling social scene.
"'There's no line of young ladies at my door every morning,'" the 27-year-old congressman told Details in an interview for the magazine's May issue. But, "'[m]aybe when they read my Details profile . . .'" Schock added.
The young Republican has come from nowhere to become a rising star in the GOP in just a few months since becoming the youngest member of the 111th Congress.
Schock was voted "hottest freshman" by the readers of the liberal Huffington Post Web site. He was also showered with attention by President Obama, who was hoping to win the young congressman's vote for his $787 billion stimulus plan. (The freshman Republican hopped a ride on Air Force One with the commander-in-chief and attended a presidential town-hall-style event in Peoria, Illinois, but ultimately voted against the bill.)
And Meghan McCain, daughter of former Republican presidential hopeful Sen. John McCain, recently showered praise on Schock, suggesting that the young conservative might be the future of the GOP and calling him a "congressman-turned-TMZ hottie."

With all that attention, the spotlight was inevitably bound to turn to his personal life – a subject he discussed with Details. "He's the only one of his siblings not married with children, and is similarly an outlier among friends," the profile says. "'I had a group of fix or six guys, and we hung and traveled – ski trips and stuff,'" Shock told the magazine. "'They slowly got picked off – married, married, married.'"
There is apparently so much pressure on the young, successful congressman to settle down, that his longtime friends are trying not to add to it, according to the magazine.
While he settles into life in Washington, the bachelor is keeping himself busy with lots of time at the House gym. Schock told the magazine he also enjoys listening to music – "'everything from Keith Urban to Justin Timberlake to Rihanna.'"

Schock represents his district well with his vanity, shallowness and smugness. Sounds like he is surpised to not find a line of "hotties" outside his door everyday. His shameless disrepect for women is disgusting. No ideas, no bipartisanship. All fluff, no substance. This the future of the Republican party.
Press is press. Never heard of the guy and now that he is on CNN for being the "hottest freshman" I have. Can't say that says much for any political intelligence, but as long as he's pretty, right? Geesh!
Wait a minute! This is bound to enrage the liberals. Much as Sarah Palin (a conservative WOMAN!) did. Glamour is supposed to be an attribute of the celebrity-oriented latte liberals, not conservatives. I predict massive liberal indignation toward this guy. As it has been against Sarah Palin.
He's a republican, right? Better watch your daughters (& sons). Repugs preach morality but don't practice it.
"Party first" is the only message we keep getting. When do we get substance and fresh ideas not ,freshman.I think the republicans get it .Its just noboby is buying the bull anymore.Got 0 Plans.Just the old ones.
This is another ploy from the Rep.; party.....he does not know which
Way is up or down. Yes he is good looking and Palin is too.
He will never lead, because he is having the old timers thank for him
There is no ladies at his door......tell me what is knocking at your door?
Okay. Who is this? Not much competition if you ask me. I'm a dedicated Democrat and trust me; this guy is no treat and he's no threat. Just another GOP who wish he had what President Obama has (the midas touch) and the vision. So there's no worry about "our" President againt this dude. What's there to worry or watch out for? Nothing....trust me nothing.
OBAMA 2012
Attractive – Somewhat. Hottie – Not even.
If he's smart, he'll stay clear of the old white men leadership of both parties and decide things for himself, make mistakes, etc. He will always be forgiven if women think he's hot.
"The freshman Republican hopped a ride on Air Force One with the commander-in-chief and attended a presidential town-hall-style event in Peoria, Illinois, but ultimately voted against the bill"
What can you say: still a Republicant, still and idiot.
GOP getting closer and closer to TMZ and Jerry Springer....I propose Newt Gingrich gets his 3rd divorce and goes on VH1 to find another girlfriend :"Newty G- Rock of love". And the Palin's on "Maury"
It was an article in Details magazine (the GQ for his generation). Did you think they were going to be asking hard-hitting policy questions???
This is clearly not CNN news-worthy, but give the guy a break.
As a sidenote, I see a shotgun wedding (a la Charlie Crist) in his future....
@Chi Town
I know that's right. I keep saying Washington's problem, and Pres. Obama's problem, too many old tired men are in office. That's why your policies sometimes reflect old tired ideas. Lets get some youth on both sides of the isle. If they happen to be hot, well....
Libs are so afraid of attractive, smart, conservatives.
I guess because their party looks like Barney Frank. lol
Just another pretty rich boy.
Well, he's "pretty" but can he think? Can he assimilate complex issues and make sound judgements? Does he understand how our government works? Does he know what the duties of his job are? Does he read?
The Republicans have trotted out pretty people in the recent past. It hasn't gone well for them, mainly because that last pretty person could not answer any of the above questions, "yes". Let's hope this guy has some brains, so the Republican Party can actually engage in active, intellectual and logical discusions of the issues.
Republicans can't be interested in him. They don't like "rock stars" or are they just hypocritical?
omg, get off the guy's case. He is a 27 year old just getting started. It's refreshing. just because he is Republican doesn't make him bad.
I think he had Meghan McCain are a nice change of the face of a bunch of old putzy men in the Republican Party.
No reason to be rude. He shows a human side for a politician. That alone is nice. I am Democrat, and acting like ignorant Republicans who say ignorant things like that gets you no where.
Rep. Schock is not going to be the future if he keeps following the hatemongers in the GOP and going against President Obama
I'm a Obama supporter and I commend this young man at such an early age.Just continue to stay with your morales which seems that your parents have instilled from reading your biography on the website. All republicans are not bad as well as it's the same about democrats.I can only hope Congressman Schock the best and please don't Washington politics misguide your judgments of what's best for this country
Wow..... welcome to TMZ . The GOP called Presidetn Obama a "Rock Star" and yet you have this guy "pimping himself out".
If you've ever lived in Illinois you'd KNOW this is much to do about nothing.....
He is a HOTTIE! I am going to keep an eye out for him. Maybe America can vote republican if the candidate is good-looking enough...like the democrats did for Obama.
Just another Schock JOCK tooting his horn! Next....
Ooh, he has a man tan. Well lets see from the republicans list of visual tokens that started with Palin. They started with a woman, then added an African American in Michael Steele, than threw Jindal in the mix. Yep, a young guy rounds that list out nicely. However I haven't seen an asian or native Indian yet.
Instead of picking visual tokens, they might actually want to change the party platform to be inclusive.
Right now they're the party of no and "eye" candy.
maybe he can hook up with "chubby" McCain
