Meghan McCain is no fan of Karl Rove's tweets.

(CNN) – Meghan McCain loves Twitter - except for the "creepy people." Like Karl Rove.

In a blog post for the Daily Beast published Monday, McCain says the social networking site has been a "liberating" experience for her - if only her dispatches weren't being read by the former Bush advisor.

"Karl Rove follows me on Twitter. That's creepy," she said. "I joined Twitter a few months ago; so far, it has been a liberating way to transition from political to personal blogging. It's allowed me to share the less serious aspects and humorously uncensored moments of my life. But there's also been a downside: I am now being followed by Karl Rove, and my local sheriff, and God knows how many other political pundits. We need to take Twitter back from the creepy people."

Later, she wrote: "I can't shake the fact that Karl Rove is following me-it can be creepy. So watch out."

The daughter of former Republican presidential candidate John McCain also said she finds Rove's Tweets "boring," and speculated that he had a "ghost Twitterer" or an assistant posting his thoughts.

"On the surface, Karl Rove's Twitter feed intrigues me," she said. Here's a guy who for years has been perceived as some kind of inaccessible man-behind-the-curtain figure. And now he Tweets numerous times a day. I've never met him in person, which only makes our Twitter relationship even weirder. And to be honest, I find Rove's Tweets boring. Sometimes he takes questions; other times he talks about his appearances on cable news and other shows. But he doesn't say anything substantive."

She said that Rove's Tweets "seem to reveal a softer side to him" - but drew her skepticism.

"Call it savvy marketing, but I find it disingenuous," she said. "And it's a bit weird to think his people-not even Rove himself-are following me."

Phoenix residents are used to the Mccain family nonsense and this nut fell close to her dad's tree. Pray for us here in Phoenix, we need all the help we can get! And thank god a McCain is not in the White House!

Theo   April 20th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

I've been in the same room as Rove, he is beyond creepy. The English language has yet to come up with a word to describe him. Twitter following is nothing compared to being in the presence of this man.

Either way, doesn't really matter. I'm sure he's just trying to learn more progressive political ideals so as to keep in the running as a useful politician.

nick   April 20th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

I also find it creepy that Karl Rove is following someone's private thoughts and communications. Hey isn't this what he was doing to the rest of the country for the past eight years. I guess old habits die hard. Meghan welcome to being like everyone else.

Tom Paine   April 20th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

Yawn. Who cares what Meghan McCain thinks?

raberyleti   April 20th, 2009 1:51 pm ET

Ok, that's funny.

PhillyGuy   April 20th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

She really is getting on my nerves. I can't believe I am saying this but Sarah Palin is more accomplished than McCain's daughter. Why is anyone listening to her? She needs to be quiet and work on establishing herself.

graham   April 20th, 2009 1:50 pm ET

friends don't let friends vote for republicans.that being said, meghan is a breath of fresh air compared to all of those hate spewing republicants(you know who you are!).meghan is a very articulate young woman who obviously respects and loves her dad.she has a mind of her own and is entitled as we all are to express it.i wish all the haters could just relax and give her her 15 minutes.the ass clowns like bush, cheney, rove, rice, gingrich, coulter, limbaugh, and bill orally(sic)have used up far more than their allotted tine.meghan just keep on keeping on-you go girl! respect, love, peace and happiness-namaste'

djdjdjs   April 20th, 2009 1:49 pm ET

She is literally the only republican I like.

Come over to the light Meghan, please become a democrat.

John from New Jersey   April 20th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

Meghan: You certainly have Karl Rove pegged. It's a shame George W.
didn't.

Dieter Zerressen, Denver, CO   April 20th, 2009 1:48 pm ET

Notice those who disagree on here attack her instead of confronting the question, "is Karl Rove creepy". That's the Republican message on everything – attack. No message, no policy, no facts, just attack. Call Obama a socialist when you don't have anything else.
Of course Karl Rove is creepy – it's sad it took her this long to figure this out and now after 8 years of creepiness the damage has been done. Better late than never, I guess.

Christopher   April 20th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

She should be more mindful not to disrespect the power players of her own party. If she were not a prominent spokesperson for young republicans then Rove wouldn't give her the time of day, its not like she is an unknown teenager with a middle-aged stalker. Karl Rove's job has been to strategize politics so naturally he is going to follow the blogs. There is little to gain for her to lodge a rude personal insult on someone interested in her only professionally.

Dave B.   April 20th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

There is plenty of room for criticism of Karl Rove without resorting to juvenile name-calling that does nothing to improve the discourse between the parties. I think this young woman is doing herself a disservice.

Mickey   April 20th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

Good grief! Assuming that Rove would be following anyone, which is not likely, why would he be following this girl? She seems to have a really inflated ego.

Wendy   April 20th, 2009 1:47 pm ET

I didn't like Meghan McCain! I did not trust her and didn't understand her motive. But, if she thinks Karl Rove is creepy, I think she may be a ligitimate fresh voice for the Republicans.

Bob in Pa   April 20th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

Meghan McCain is nothing more than a Seantor's daughter. Why all the sudden does everyone suddenly care about what she thinks?

Above and beyond that, why is Twitter even relevant ?

Carey Judas   April 20th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

How is it that everything Meghan McCain says comes into the Ticker? Why should anyone care? She is a spoiled brat know-nothing.

barbara   April 20th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

I, for one, do not care about this young ladies political thoughts. She has an anger built up from times gone by. she needs to get over it and start doing something that matters in life.

xTXnCA   April 20th, 2009 1:45 pm ET

I really like this young woman – a refreshing face in a sea of boredom and hipocracy called the Republican party. Her predictions of a war within the party is spot-on and I hope we see more of her, sooner the better. I am a fiscal conservative but social moderate and fully in the Democratic camp because I reject the hate-mongering displayed by the leaders in the Republican party. Meghan can change that – kudoos to her father for raising a child with a mind of her own.

bc   April 20th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Why don't you conservatives who seem to hate Ms. McCain so much go off and start your own 3rd party and leave the GOP to decent people. You would not be missed.

RH   April 20th, 2009 1:44 pm ET

Ugh. Stop with all of the Meghan McCain. I'd rather hear about Sarah Palin. Hell, I'd rather hear about a bot fly infestation.

muzimbo   April 20th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

I think Meghan McCain is exposing the emperor and it cannot handle the truth – it scares the GOP!

The GOP should stop preaching to themselves and instead listen to the likes of Ms McCain, take a hard look at the party, the nation, the facts, and craft a 21st century party strategy or GOP will be relegated to a regional party. The nation cannot afford a one party rule, we need the 21st century republicants!

I like Ms McCain's candor.

Jennifer NY   April 20th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

I have another thing to say. The GOP has caused a nasty divide in this country. I feel the media who play up this nasty, negative stuff (like those misguided "tea Parties") are causing a dangerous atmosphere in this country. It seems to be Obama-bashing, all the time. At least the man is trying to turn our country back to the noble causes it once stood for, and he has brains!!

cary   April 20th, 2009 1:42 pm ET

Who cares what Megan McCain thinks? Why is this even on the ticker? Every time I see her, I don't see much more than another Paris Hilton.

jwn in south carolina   April 20th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Rove is always creepy.....twitter or not!

Brian   April 20th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Karl Rove is likely the fattest, ugliest person on the planet.

Viewer   April 20th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Why are so many statements of this young lady worthy of being reported as front page news on CNN and the mainstream media?

If she were saying anything critical of Speaker Pelosi or President Obama, would her statements be given this much prominent coverage?

I doubt CNN will post this comment.

KMAN   April 20th, 2009 1:41 pm ET

Name one thing about Karl Rove that isn't creepy ... you can't do it. He does have a very unique talent though ... making people's skin crawl!

Russ in Johnston, IA   April 20th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

It's all in a name, isn't it? Twice in a day we are now graced with Meghan's blogging prowess. Why? Because her last name is MCCAIN!! It isn't like she is the only person who has mentioned the things she has today about the GOP party and now Carl Rove?!!

Tom Mulroney   April 20th, 2009 1:40 pm ET

Creepy doesn't even begin to describe Karl "SS" Rove.

Yes Please Megan go to the Democraps!

Jennifer NY   April 20th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

She is certainly a breath of fresh air in a nasty old party that lost its way. I am a former Republican but I don't identify with anything these people stand for – mostly negative, can't do anything, arrogant to the world...NBC had the audacity to put Newt Gingrich on this a.m. who bashed everything Obama is doing as "dangerous"...the only dangerous people are the GOP, right-wingers, conservatives who enrich themselves. They've basically destroyed the middle class under GW Bush, Rove, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Abramoff, Cheney and the rest of the crooks and liars.

Lonnie Barksdale, JR   April 20th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

McCain seems like a very immature 24-year-old.

Pete   April 20th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

So typical of a fraud like Rove. He's probably smitten with the young lady but is too much of a pervert to ever do anything but watch her, member in hand.

Rob   April 20th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Karl Rove creepy? Dear Lord YES – I can only imagine what Rove does when he gets an update from the young McCain... Actually – I guess I don't want to imagine that!

harold   April 20th, 2009 1:38 pm ET

Actually, Meghah McCain is the creepy one as far as I'm concerned. She can't stop putting herself forward for some reason and she seems to think she is the "self-appointed" spokeswoman for the Republican Party now. Who in the heck is she other than John McCain's daughter and where did she come from? What experience does she have? What education does she have? I think she's doing more harm than good for the Republican Party and all she seems to be doing is looking for headlines and sell advance copies of her book that she's writing so she won' t have to get a real job!

paul   April 20th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

I met Karl briefly once as part of my job. He was a jerk. World class jerk. Even Darth Cheney was more charming than Karl. Dick was at least polite to the people around him who were doing their jobs, but Karl couldn't lower himself to speak to any of the "little people".

Karen Tinker   April 20th, 2009 1:37 pm ET

Meghan is an amazing young woman. Bravo – for her courage!!! I wonder where she gets it . . . hmmmm? I supported her dad in 2000 but just could not do it this time around.

juggadore   April 20th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

is this really necessary? kinda classless. just block him. no need to make a fuss...

Ken Allison   April 20th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

What a shocker! Rove is creepy. Who would have guessed?

Skip - michigan   April 20th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

Meghan: I'll bet your father is embarrassed by you. Then again, maybe he's not since he never had a conservative thought of his own. You are a disgusting, spoiled brat. Get over to the left and joined the crowd, honey. I hardly doubt Karl Rove has time to follow a fat, ignorant teenager on Twitter.

Dave in Illinois   April 20th, 2009 1:36 pm ET

CNN posts stories about this airhead so often they ought to hire her as a "journalist". She wouldn't be much worse than some of the ones they already have.

Mark   April 20th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

Who is Meghan McCain? What has she achieved: zip, zero, zilch. Her only claim to fame is being the daughter of the weakest Republican presidential candidate in half a century.

Maybe she should shut up.

jjr   April 20th, 2009 1:35 pm ET

She is truly a bizarre individual, so even though she publically twittering, she only wants certain people to read it. I also find it hard to believe that people actually care what she thinks, her education background is a degree in Art History.

Michael "C" Lorton, Virginia   April 20th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Now that we all know that Karl Rove is a "twitt,"--nothing else to be said.

Lolbama   April 20th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Funny that CNN carries this shlock, paparazzi-like 'story'. Anything to paint reps negatively and dems positively. This will hang around for a day or two as usual while the stories painting dems negatively and reps positively come and go in minutes. The quick surveys follow the same basic rules. It seems that CNN is nothing more than the National Enquirer and shilling for the dems at the same time.

Jeff of Peoria   April 20th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Call him what you will but he got "W" elected not once but twice. CREEPY but successful. A Successful creep.

But then the Demo's did put up Gore and Kerry. I could have beat them.

Robert S.   April 20th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

It is not easy to block a disease like Karl Rove, they use aliases and he has access to many addresses. He should be put in a museum so we never forget how disgusting creeps act when allowed into government by gullible voters.
Megan McCain is the future. As for her being a Republican, that party should return to limited government (not limited enforcement of regulations that protect citizens from abusive corporate hoodlums), personal freedom ( not freedom from dissenting opinions), and personal accountability (as opposed to faith based handout programs to benefit megachurches). And while they're at it, throw Karl Rove under a bus!

David Newport, OR   April 20th, 2009 1:34 pm ET

Can't speek out AGAINST the GOP pundits...you will be found on a park bench, naked with a bullet in your head and you holding the gun. Only problem...if you are left-handed...why are you holding the gun in your right hand?

Jules   April 20th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

So, who "twittered" who first, Meghan McCain or Karl Rove? It doesn't seem too "creepy" to me for a couple of Republicans who have been in the White House spotlight to keep tabs on each other, especially if those comings and goings are made public. I think Meghan is a young woman who likes to add DRAMA to her Twittering. "Like, OMG, I'm being STALKED by a dirty old man!"

Steve, Columbia SC   April 20th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

Is that what a left-wing extreme elitist calls someone with a strong conservative opinion – creepy? Makes sense.

Peggy - TX   April 20th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

Magen is not running for high office like the Vice Presidency of the United States, so she does not deserve the critisim be leveled at her. She is not pretending to be something she is not and she does not seem to be anyones puppet so I respected her. The Republicans that are calling her a Democrate are upset because she is not repeating the Republican talking points of the day.

I am not clear what it is to be a Republican today. Sure you have the loud month radio talk show folks and the angry Radicalized right followers, but they are both just fringe groups angry about everything and for nothing tangible except maybe increased Government control over all women’s bodies.

Rush   April 20th, 2009 1:32 pm ET

A breath of fresh air. Maybe there is still hope for the GOP.

lala   April 20th, 2009 1:31 pm ET

I like her and even though I'm a democrat I like how she thinks. The thing with Twiter though is All she has to do is "remove" him, very simple just a click and he's done, sounds to me like she must like it after all.

SeeKar   April 20th, 2009 1:30 pm ET

These responses are like the writings of a bunch of middle-school punks piling onto the unpopular kid in school. Grow up, people.

Agrippa   April 20th, 2009 1:29 pm ET

*Again* Meghan McCain displays more sense and leadership than 99% of the "people" in the Republican Party, even in silly Twitter posts. She should have stuck the old man into a nursing home and run for President herself.

Mary Rose   April 20th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

Why is what Meghan McCain says all of a sudden so important to the media. Is she a national figure? Oh, I guess it is because she is bashing the Republican party and that makes the media extremely happy. Especially CNN. It is very disappointing journalism. That is why FOXNews has consistently been beating CNN, MSNBC and all other cable news networks in the ratings.

Media please go back to objective reporting.

Scott   April 20th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

all you people that continue to trash Rove and others and creepy and evil should be careful about your own glass house...Carville, Begala, etc are Liberal clones of Rove and company. They all do political dirty work and are good at what they do. Just because they support your "ideology" doesn't make them any less contemptible.

Donna   April 20th, 2009 1:28 pm ET

tess   April 20th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

talk about creepy – thats megan! now i know for sure that her dad never was the one who should have been the republican nominee – he is as creepy as she is and for the life of me i can't decide where he stands on almost all issues! it seems like he wants to poke his finger in republicans eyes but can't bring himself to "come out" as a democrat?!? just exactly who and what is he (and talk about not quite knowing her idenity?)

Meh   April 20th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

I'm sure she's a nice girl and everything, but I think it's funny when people claim that she's "smart"....she thinks Schlock is the next up and comer in the GOP b/c of his ABS. I mean, come on.

And, yes, Karl Rove is totally creepy.

Sammy   April 20th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

My big laugh of the day. Kinda funny how the more popular Mehgan becomes the more the hard core right gets upset about it. She is no powerhouse nor is she a political heavyweight. But her message is a popular one... and it happens to go against a republican establishment that party members should do away with as part of a bygone era.

Michael-TX   April 20th, 2009 1:26 pm ET

Check your front door Meghan, that FOX Noise stalker maybe nearby also, probably put there by the Grand Imperial Perv himself, BILLO !!!!!!

jrbace   April 20th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

Wouldn't you only get his posts if he was following you? And I believe you can block him. Not that I like Karl Rove, but if you don't want him to follow you, block him. And if you don't want to read his posts, don't. There is still choice.

Beverly in NC   April 20th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

I find most Republicans to be "creepy" as well as negative, intolerant, critical of every positive step for our nation, fear-mongers, and this Congress of Republicans are also do-nothings and grandstanders.

They have no ideas, not one positive message on anything, and every day we hear who they hate today or who did something they didn't like, and who is destroying our nation.

I think the Republican Party needs to take a look in the mirror if they want to see who is WRONG, DANGEROUS to America, and is FAILING and making fools of themselves on a daily basis.

Americans no longer trust anything the Republican Party says or does. They have bet their Party's future on America failing and they have lost that bet HUGE. America is recovering. President Obama is brilliantly succeeding on both domestic and foreign issues. We the People love him, trust him, and are thrilled to have intelligent leadership in the White House. We are also thrilled to have criminal acts exposed by the Cheney/Bush henchmen. Bullying and torture are NOT American values.

The Party of NO-NO-NO is going to hear from all of us in 2010 as we vote NO-NO-NO for all Republican up for reelection.

cSalata   April 20th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

Meghan is a good old fashioned Republican-following beliefs prior to the Evangelical hijacking of the party during the Reagan years. It appears to me that she is fiscally conservitive but does not agree with government involvement in the bedroom, marriage , sexual orientation etc. What happened to the smaller government? What happened to responsible birth control? Barry Goldwater's wife started Planned Parenthood in AZ. Isn't he the father of the modern Conservative movement?
There is no room for religion in government. It should be a private issue.

yuri   April 20th, 2009 1:25 pm ET

Quite a combo, hey! Meghan is an unbelieavable epitomy of beauty brusqueness, boldness, brilliance, and brains. Blunt as she is, Meghan has bravely beaten back the neocons as RL, AC, and LI, and now she is barin' the brutally blunt bully- Rove. We can't stop beholdin' you with basic sense of reverence, Meghan. You go girl!

How proud her Daddy & Mommy must be of their precious daughter who is dying for any king of attention she can get from who ever. How sad, someone who comes from money would mock her own parent's political beliefs & friends. It sad what money will do to you – make you mindless and willing to sell your self for fame & fortune.

And liberalism is what allowed idiots like Meghan McCain and Sarah Palin to show the whole world what rocket scientists they are. Get back in the kitchen and make me some dinner!

Sherri   April 20th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

I am getting tired of hearing from the biased and loudmouthed Meghan McCain spouting criticisms of people that she apparently knows nothing solid about. If you can't say something with some value, like your well-respected father, then get off the twitter and the internet. You are obviously trying to be a "personality" without any basis and saying things that will just garner attention. Possibly you want to get elected someday, but this youthful, nonsensical banner is just going to follow you around. Stop and think before you call people names.

Ron   April 20th, 2009 1:24 pm ET

She's also following him so she herself is creepy. If you're on Twitter and you don't know how to set your privacy settings then don't complain. Anyone who is interested in reading her Tweets will do so, but does that mean that all readers are creeps? I say just get over it. Let's not play the 'older guy following a younger girl' card. It's only Twitter. geez!

I am heading to twitter now to find her... this is a refreshing voice that embodies what I believe America to be.. a place where we can agree, disagree, and agree to disagree... if she ever runs for office and is remotely as astute as she appears at present.. I am voting republican!!!

i am a dem but i have to agree with meghan mccain the gop is crazy karl, rush and newt and the gop- they always want to be at war with some godforesaken country messing with people lives - they don't want the united states to be friends with anyone -- what the country need to do is take all 3 of them including the gop party and sit them in one of these country's and let them fend for themselves maybe it will make them feel better -– I have never heard of (so many ideas the President Obama should use or say) these ideas was not suggested when Bush was in office -– I have never seen SO MANY complaints about a Black Man beening President in my life seems as though Color of his Skin just don't agree with everyone - which is fine-but at least give him a chance KEEP COMPLAINTING - WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT THIS COUNTRY WILL END UP JUST LIKE NORTH KOREA (ISOLATED) NO FRIENDS IN SIGHT

i wonder if Meghan McCain realizes that she's being used by the MSM?

TwitER   April 20th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

Rove is probably not the only older creepy man following you on Twitter Meghan. Better post carefully.... or get over it.

Harvey from Ar.   April 20th, 2009 1:19 pm ET

I am retired from the U.S.Navy. Iserved on an aircraft carrier that John Mccain flew from as a fighter pilot. Did not know him would just see him from time to timeI have all the respect in the world for John Mccain the fighter pilot, and his service to this country, although i do not agree with him politically, I think his daughter is a breath of fresh air. If all the repubs in the house would find it upon themselves to realize that Obama is the president and they are no longer in power. With her wit and foresight for the future things would probably get better.

Frustrated by Government Management   April 20th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

Megan is the latest LIBERAL puppet UNFORTUANTELY the way the President is Harry Reids and Pelosi's puppet! REPRESENT THE PEOPLE OF AMERICA vs the PARTY! You have BARNEY FRANK a big component of this mess too, but he is your poster boy! Megan should like a liberal by critizing her party if she wants stage time!

Why is she so accepted by the DEMS? Quit calling her a GOP rep! If something negative comes out about her, how many of your dems will turn your backs? You are a two-faced party and if you believe Reid and Pelosi represent you, you are stupid. Both parties are to blame for this mess because it is all about votes and party vs. american needs.

If you want free housing and healthcare..join the military! She can move that great DEMOCRATIC state of MICHIGAN and CALIFORNIA where Liberal philosophy works!, right? California is dem. state because ARNOLD is a puppet of Maria Shriver Kennedy!!

CNN should report for the what is good for the people! I do not blame MSNBC for being the liberal news center since the government gave bailout dollars to their owners GE. Did you see anyone complaining about the bonuses to Keith Obermann and Chris Matthews with your tax dollars? You bank on the yoda look-alike Carvelle to give you political insight?

Alot ot the policies that the President is introducing are pretty much PAYOFFS to all who got him into the Oval Office....UAW, ACORN, FANNIE AND FREDDIE, GE, ENVIRONMENTALISTS..ETC....It is a shame that CHRISTIANITY will soon be a thing of the past because of you liberals!!

Butch Dillon   April 20th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

I am starting to become a believer in McCain. She's alienating all the disgusting people on the dark side and speaking in more human terms. The republican party needs someone to drag them into civilization and maybe it's her. If not, she couldn't fare any the worse by cutting the ties that moor her to savages like Rove, Limbaugh, Hannity and the rest.

Mike   April 20th, 2009 1:18 pm ET

No disrespect to Meghan McCain but why is CNN contributing so much space to her comments and views?
She is the daughter of a Senator (there are many daughters of Senators) who ran for President.
I voted for John McCain but just see no value in having so many comments from his daughter plastered all over the place.

The Republican party needs to fix itself. If Meghan McCain wants to be part of that then good for her. Let her join the ranks of those who make policy within this party. Then I'll be more interested in what she has to say because they will carry more clout.

Anonymous   April 20th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Why is this twit on CNN? Doesnt CNN have anything else to talk about

Joe PA   April 20th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

John   April 20th, 2009 1:17 pm ET

Who is Meghan McCain and why is she being reported on? Is what she thinks supposed to mean something?

Dave   April 20th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Rove's tweets are creepy... especially if you're trapped in an elevator with one of 'em! I stay far away from him when he starts tweeting.

mike,texas   April 20th, 2009 1:16 pm ET

Thank you Carl Rove for enginering the Fall of the republican party.Keep up the great work.

C W   April 20th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

Typical of Rove to follow Meghan. He's collecting information on her to use against her, should she run for political office. She is dangerous to him and his anti-American agenda, because she obviously can't be controlled by him.

Airheads likes Palin and W Bush are more Rove's cup of tea: Stupid, malleable lightweights who can bring along the voting sheep of the religious right.

mark   April 20th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

Karl Rove is creepy. As a matter of fact, Karl Rove is disgusting. Look at his oversized, bloated head and that sore on his face that is always open and never heals... (mouth). Rove is an injustice to this country and a scar on history. Block him from your twits, Ms. McCain. *Stalker!*

Brad   April 20th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

Hey people, "Republican" is not an ideology, it is just a political party. Your ideologies are your own; whatever you are registered as is just your way of aligning yourself with a large group that has the resources to make you feel like your opinions matter.

Meghan McCain is a good thing for the Republican party because she holds the basic core beliefs of small government, individual liberty, and responsible capitalism, but also sees that the far religious right has dominated the social policies of the party, which just do not sync up with the makeup of our modern society, as well as our country's rhetoric of freedom and democracy.

As a conservative, I totally understand how Karl Rove can be considered "creepy" by the left. Why then, cannot the left understand why conservatives find people like Ram Emanuel, Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Rev Wright, etc. etc. "creepy" as well??????? If Karl Rove is considered dangerous as a private citizen/pundit, these people who actually have power are absolutely terrifying to us......

jack debrot, new york, new york   April 20th, 2009 1:15 pm ET

this child is being exploited by the liberal media. the more nonsense she spouts, the more publicity she gets. cnn and its ilk are the creeps here.

Indiana Voter   April 20th, 2009 1:14 pm ET

She really has a problem with opening her big mouth too often. Obviously she is trying to live off her daddy's fame, otherwise who would listen to her. She would never win as a Republican because she has trashed her "own party" too often too win, just like her daddy. It is sad to see another young girl turned by the liberal left democrats and embracing the hatred put out by the left. At this point, she is now a "R.I.N.O.", and nothing more. Of course anything anti-republican will be put on CNN's "news" ticker, and CNN will try to pass it off as objective reporting, but anyone with a brain can see that CNN is the democrat mouthpiece. If you disagree with me, then you must not have a brain. Period!

Chris   April 20th, 2009 1:14 pm ET

While I'm a very loyal Democrat, Meghan McCain should be the new face of the GOP!!! She is trying to get those folks to move past all the crap their party has endured over the past years and move them into the 21st Century!!!

George Mortensen   April 20th, 2009 1:14 pm ET

Let's leave aside the fact Ms. McCain's views on Twitter have little or no news worthiness but this is typical of this pathetic network. CNN will print or broadcast anything so long as it denigrates a Republican, a Conservative or anyone not considered to be a "good" liberal. But God forbid they spend any ink to criticize or challenge their new God, Comrade Zero.

Chris   April 20th, 2009 1:13 pm ET

Diann Cornell April 20th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

I find it discusting that Mcaine's daughter would talk about Carl Rove like that….who the heck is she anyhow? She is no one I would want to give me advice!

I'm not a Republican but I'm liking her. She has all the right in the world to talk about Karl Rove. As McCain's daughter, she has additional insight into the world of politics that you or I might not have so I think that makes her as relevant as any other blogger out there. She's a Republican that's watching her party slowly erode and she's offering up her ideas to help save the party from irrelevance. If your a Republican I would suggest listening to her because your ideology and party as a whole will cease to exist on any significant level if you aren't able to attract voters from our generation. The younger crowd is leaning more Democratic and if your not careful it will be too late to put the pieced back together again.

Allan Leavell   April 20th, 2009 1:13 pm ET

Um, how about you use your intelligence and actually learn how to use twitter. You can block your "tweets" from being read from WHOEVER you want. Wow. And this is the person you chose to give international coverage on CNN.com? wow.

lori   April 20th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

He's just creepy period.

Laverne   April 20th, 2009 1:12 pm ET

Meghan is smart. She knows that the dems are eating this up and she is trying to restore some credibility to the republican party for the younger generation. I applaud her for that, BUT she is a republican and have the republicans interest on her mind. Don't be fooled by the so called "straight talk", this is more like a trap. If she is bucking against most of the things that republicans do, then perhaps she is in the wrong party??? I don't think so, she made it clear over the weekend she is a republican. Tread carefully dems, don't be hoodwinked!

Sally   April 20th, 2009 1:11 pm ET

I love to agree with a Republican. Karl Rove is creepy and a criminal. Meghan keep your personal thoughts personal. Do not broadcast on the world web what you don't want the world to know!

Troy   April 20th, 2009 1:10 pm ET

U r right, Meghan! He is creepy. Whenever the morning shows and CNN have him on as a guest my family and I turn the channel. Its just to mainful to watch and listen to that ... We are not left wing whack jobs. Just normal people. How can we convey to CNN and the morning shows not to have him on as a quest?

kevin   April 20th, 2009 1:09 pm ET

Ms. McCain would do well to understand that being a Republican is not hereditary. She rightfully opposes their ridiculous social policies, but embraces the classical fiscal conservatism the party seems to have abandoned.

They actually have a word for this: it's called "Independent", and it's OK to admit to being one.

Cathy in AZ   April 20th, 2009 1:09 pm ET

I like her more and more every day! He creeps a lot of us out!

Truth-Bomb Thrower   April 20th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

First it was Mehgan "air-head" McCain then it was the Alaskan dead-beat dad, Levi what's-his-face. It's amazing the low-lifes and nobodies CNN will put on its air and its website just as long as they trash conservatives. They would probably give time and space to Charles Manson if he would just say what they wanted and trashed republicans. CNN, you are starting to make even Oberman on MSNBC look objective and mainstream. Have you ever stopped and wondered why you are where you are in the ratings?

Karen- PROUD OF MY PRESIDENT   April 20th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

Dang Meghan, come on over to the other side. You don't belong with the Republicans... Your ideas are so liberal until I have to question myself if I'm a democrat. We would welcome you with open arms. You are the real maverick.

Lauren   April 20th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

I guess Meghan must ENJOY the attention. Because all she has to do is block Rove from her account. Simple as that, but she loves the limelight, and wants to makes a huge story over something so trivial.

If he creeps her out,, block him,,, problem solved. DUH,,,,,,

Joe in NJ   April 20th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

akapatrick   April 20th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

Ummm. That is the point of twitter, if you want to keep to an inner circle you make the whole thing private in your settings. Why is this news? This is like 90210 or legally blonde meets the White House. Seriously guys, how about some real news.

Uncle Jimbo-Chicago   April 20th, 2009 1:07 pm ET

Karl Rove should have been arrested months ago. Where is the Congressional Sergeant at Arms? How long could you or I avoid a subpoena to appear?
Turd Blossom belongs behind bars, see how he tweets there

Jack in CA   April 20th, 2009 1:06 pm ET

The only purpose this ticker poster serves is to open Rove up for shots from libs. Nice work.

awaitingliberalizationbyCNN   April 20th, 2009 1:06 pm ET

Hey libs, its a special day. The second anniversary of Harry Reid's "the war is lost" speech. A speech given by a loser to satisfy all of those liberal losers who vote for democrats. Congratulations to Rove and Bush for having the sense and the guts to stick with something rather than be losers.

Irene   April 20th, 2009 1:06 pm ET

Meghan, where were you during the election? What a breath of fresh air from the GOP. It's like all the hardliners from your party are oblivious to the fact that Bush, Cheney, Rove, and all of their co-horts are creepy, greedy, power-hungry, jerks who cared nothing for our constitution or for international law. You should have talked your father out of picking Palin. She was the death of him and now that Pandora has been let out of her box, we can't get rid of her. The GOP party has been kyjacked by these fringe elements and they need to get back to small government, (including in matters of religion) and personal choice and responsibility before they start to win elections again. Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich and all the other blowholes are not helping your cause!

patriot76   April 20th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

Welcome to The Republican Creep Show. They should all be behind bars for their War Crimes.

thought crime   April 20th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

My question is: Why does she matter as a political commentator? I can understand getting her point of view during the election process, but besides that why does the media keep coming back to her? Same goes with the Palin family, why does the media care?

I wish my parents had run for office, then maybe people would listen to my thoughts and opinions.

Devin   April 20th, 2009 1:05 pm ET

Karl Rove is a GOP political strategist. Meghan McCain has been attacking the true conservatives in the party. It makes sense to me that he's following her. If you don't want to be followed by weird people then get off of myspace and twitter. For goodness sakes. Someone complaining about weirdos following you when you have these accounts is like someone complaining about getting wet while standing out int he rain. I wish Meghan would just get over herself.

Richard L   April 20th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

If the Republicans were smart, they'd encourage Meghan to run for office instead of Palin. Meghan has a much better grasp of reality.

TCM   April 20th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Truth be known, she's fabricated the entire thing; in efforts to keep her name and picture splashed on CNN (which, obviously, will print anything – thus the last place rating)

sean   April 20th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Why is this a news story? Is CNN that desperate for news that they publish this type of garbage? C'mon, no wonder the network is slipping in ratings.

Yeah Dude   April 20th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

Captain Obvious to the rescue!

Jen   April 20th, 2009 1:04 pm ET

And soon to come, the third act of this little melodrama:

Embarassing pictures of Meghan in some compromising situation are "leaked" to the media. Who would do such a thing? Surely not Karl Rove. He'd never stoop that low, would he?

Billy   April 20th, 2009 1:03 pm ET

As a democrat, I am relieved to see that the fringe right is rejecting Meghan. Meghan actually might revive the party back to the middle so I'm happy to see that the "28 percenters" will push her away.

Bryce   April 20th, 2009 1:02 pm ET

Is CNN paying Meghan McCain for all this coverage?

Paul in Delaware   April 20th, 2009 1:02 pm ET

Could someone at CNN explain how this qualifies as news? Can't we, perhaps, get past making perjoritive statements and apply some intellectual content to advance political debate in a positive direction?

Justa thought.   April 20th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

Meghan, you hang right in there. Your one of the very few Republicans with their head in the right place. As long as your square with the public they will be with you. Start the old political (rove/bush) crap and you are outta here. Good luck. I hope you run for your daddys seat come next election because I think daddy is done for... Just keep up that sassy style and you'll do well..

Tim   April 20th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

No, he is just a creep!!!!

AC   April 20th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

Now, Meghan McCain is a Republican that I wouldn't mind supporting. I can see her being president some day as long as her views stay mostly the same. I think she is what the Republican Party needs to shake itself up and say "good-bye" to the nea sayers that currently inhabit that party. Keep up the good work Meghan!

Danny in Chicago   April 20th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

This is all just PR for twitter. It's all about hyping up the twitter so then the twitter people can start charging you for it.....

Sea.gem   April 20th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

Oh god...why is this relavant?...couldn't you find anyone else bashing Rove...very sad...

Andi   April 20th, 2009 1:01 pm ET

Well I'm sick of people being sick of anything they don't like on the news. It happens, people. The world does not revolve around you or your interests. If CNN wants to publish an article like this, they will. And Ms McCain can say whatever she wants, just like all of you. Too bad for you that CNN isn't that interested in you, right?

Get over it. Rove is creepy, and I would take Lon Chaney over Dick shoot-em-up Cheney any day.

If you all are sooooo sick of reading about this, here's a bit of advice – STOP READING IT. I don't believe anyone who says they dislike something when they are constantly taking it in. Do you just like to hear yourself complain?

Sam I Am   April 20th, 2009 1:00 pm ET

Meghan is, with any luck, one of the new faces of the Republican Party.
She's bright, well-educated, can express herself in full-sentences, and obviously has a good sense of humor. I am a former Republican, turned Democrat by the shenanigans of Bush, Rove, and that gang. If more people like Ms. McCain start wrestling the leadership of the party away from the old, tired, wretched pols like Rove, then the party will have a shot at surviving.

Even if Meghan does nothing but make comments about her party, it's incredibly entertaining to see how easily she raises the hackles of the old guard. When was the last time the daughter of a political party member got the party in such an uproar? Oh, yeah, that's right. Bristol did it two weeks ago.

And I agree with Meghan. Rove is VERY creepy. I bet even the local Dungeons and Dragons club in his neighborhood won't let him play.

Pioneer   April 20th, 2009 1:00 pm ET

If the Republicans are not following this young lady they are finished as a party.
There is a poster on this blog that has himself as "The Last Patriot"
The self proclamation of youR name is what is wrong with the party.
I am sure you just don't get it.
Oh Well see you on the Rove Twitter -- NOT--

Meghan McCain rocks. If there were more Republican's like her, the world would be a better place.

faithplusnothing   April 20th, 2009 1:00 pm ET

What's creepy is that everything she says gets reported by CNN. Why don't you try to report some real news. We know you would like to say these things but your too much of a coward so you use this "nobody" just because she calls herself a "republican" and trashes them. Come on, you are turning into MSNBC more every day.

jim in Bakersfield, CA   April 20th, 2009 1:00 pm ET

the only reason she is getting so much attention is because she is bashing Republicans. She realizes that this is the only way the left-wing media will pay any attention to her. She has said nothing substantive or anything that isn't obvious to most already.

rjd   April 20th, 2009 12:58 pm ET

who really cares what Meghan McCain thinks, I know I don't. Only reason she has any attention paid to her at all is because of her father. She definetly is not the voice of the Republican party.

Meghan, it's easy to block someone from viewing your updates/posts. If you don't want him to follow you, stop him.

why is she followed by rove and the sherriff if anything goes wrong with megan we will catch rove and the sherriff for punishment.

www.DUH.com   April 20th, 2009 12:57 pm ET

Um, Twitter has a "block" feature, so that "creepy" people cannot follow you. If this girl is too dumb to use Twitter, she should stop. And this does not speak volumes about her IQ on other matters.

Though, she's TRYING to do something good here, and be a voice of reason, I'll give her that.

JonDie   April 20th, 2009 12:57 pm ET

When will Rove be indicted and tried for all the crimes he committed as a member of the Bush administration? That's really the only thing about Karl Rove that interests me.

dennisk   April 20th, 2009 12:57 pm ET

The Straight Talk Express has a new McCain at the wheel! This young lady is smart, funny and honest (i.e., everything pols like Sarah Palin are NOT).
I'm a registered Democrat but an independent thinker, and Meghan McCain is exactly the type of "loyal opposition" the current President and Congress need.

Roxanne J, SC   April 20th, 2009 12:55 pm ET

I love Meghan McCain. I like her sense of bravado and candor. I am a Democrat but I slide in and out of viewpoints between the two parties. If I were to ever become a Republican, I would agree with her idea of what the party should be. Currently, I do see it as a bunch of old, rich white guys who don't have a clue about what is going on in the 21st century let alone our inner cities and with the younger generation. Good job Meghan for calling a spade a spade.

HA Ha Ha! That is great !!!

Rove *IS* a creep. It's just funny to see McCain's daughter saying it, lol.... is this the new "hip" face of the Republican party trying to capture the young voters attention? Maybe they're throwing Karl under the bus as a sacrifice to distance themselves from the old guard....

Just remember, Meghan, your old man is just as much a creep as Rove is....

Last I knew Twitter and all the other internet sites/blogs/user items were up for public use and consumption. When you put yourself out there like that, anybody and everybody can see whar you're doing. I also recall there being a First Amendment. If Karl Rove or anybody else wants to read your Twits (you dumb twit) they can. You can't "ban" the weridos from Twitter or you quash the First Amendment.

She is beginning to sound like Sarah the 2nd. Dumb, foot in mouth to knee, and still talking.

Both of them are a death knell for the GOP.

Meghan – You're overstaying your 15 minutes. If it weren't for your namesake, you would not be relevant.

chelseafran   April 20th, 2009 12:49 pm ET

You know, this girl is really starting to grow on me! Anybody who Ann C. and Laura I. hate has got to have something going for her.

No wonder the repubs are howling mad and trying like crazy to shut her up and discredit her.

They only want to promote young people who are willing to goosestep off the cliff right along with them. That big sign on the clubhouse door says "Haters Only."

Oh, and to whoever said that daddy should cut her off from the trust fund: I believe that should read be MOMMY'S trust fund!

And I agree that Rove really is one creepy guy.

The Last Patriot   April 20th, 2009 12:48 pm ET

RickM   April 20th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

Isn't this woman's fifteen minutes of fame just about used up?

She is just a fool that thinks she is popular but is being used by the chattering classes for their amusement.

Val in MA   April 20th, 2009 12:47 pm ET

Ms. McCain acts childish – she needs to grow up if she wants people to take her seriously. Grow up Meghan.

RanDe   April 20th, 2009 12:46 pm ET

there's a lot more creepier people out there than Karl Rove for Megan to concern herself with , although her best defense is her endless rhetoric

Randall Arnold   April 20th, 2009 12:44 pm ET

I'm actually starting to like her after all...

J S Ragman   April 20th, 2009 12:43 pm ET

Meghan is learning that it is unpatriotic (according to some) to criticize the Repubs. It's funny how when a Dem criticizes another Dem it is acceptable but if a Repub criticizes another Repub all hell breaks loose from the right-wing. I guess she just hasn't learned her lesson from our recent Clown President that "you are either with us or against us!" Now that's what I call freedom of speech.

Leah Barr   April 20th, 2009 12:43 pm ET

So if she doesn't want him following her, why not just block him? Seems Twitter thought of creeps when they designed this feature.

Todd   April 20th, 2009 12:43 pm ET

Miss McCain is the kind of moderate personality the GOP needs to regain its dignity. I just think it's sad that her father's own party is attacking her for being an actual "maverick."

Jo in Texas   April 20th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

Too much money, too little brains and trying to get too much attention cause she has too much free time to dabble in other people's freedom of expressions. Get a job Megan. Twitters who tweet too much are a weird breed of lost birds. Please go dem and leave the honest hard working American who are loyal Republicans to deside what their party should stand for. We love babies, Mr & Mrs. and lower taxes. You were never Republican even during the campaign and will never be. So buzz off Miss Twitter.

stevo   April 20th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

So, she is the daughter of a politician, young and cute. But is she really adding anything to the conversation?

Does she ever talk about policies with any sense of understanding? It's scaring to think that her TMZ-style politics may become the norm.

B E in TN   April 20th, 2009 12:42 pm ET

I am a long time yellow dog democrat and it is a bit "creepy" that Meghan just might bring the GOP out of the deep, dark hole they have been digging for themselves. So far, I cant find any disagreement with her comments and political philosophies; you go girl!!!, what you are doing is in the best interest of bringing some sanity back to American politics.

Carole   April 20th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Meghan you are a smart, diverse and intelligent young lady. Also very beautiful. Karl is a stalker straight up! Kudos for outing this sicko. Personally I thought he would be stalking someone like Cantor which I would imagine would be Karl's preference.

I am saddened that the gop(smaller case here too due to no more respect) feels that they have to treat our President or anyone who does not agree with them with a mission to tear down. Sad.

Join the Democrats or the Independent party Meghan. You are way to modern for the Repubs.

J, Greer   April 20th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

McCains daughter needs to just come out and say she is a democrat. You cannot say your a republican if yours views are in favor of democratic platforms. This whole notion of appeasing everyone is nonsense. What is wrong with standing strong for conservative issues. Could she have possibly voted for Obama? Sounds like she is a democrat to me. I never hear saying anything positive about conservatism only negative. I would buy a playboy if she was in it.

Paul   April 20th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Meghan:

He is beyond creepy. He should be behind bars.

MD   April 20th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Does Ms. McCain ever have anything positive to say or does she just have an empty head that is only capable of saying negative things about Republicans and conservatives. I suspect she may have also made some less that flattering comments about Democrats and liberals but the biased media does not see that as worthy of reporting.

Little Miss Sunshine   April 20th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

"Rove 'Creepy', McCain Daughter Says" ...

I think so too, Meghan!

JD   April 20th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

It's 100% guaranteed that if Meghan McCain said anything that sounded like a REAL Republican (not a liberal Republican-in-name-only), the love affair the media has with her would be completely over.

The only reason the media is giving Ms. McCain any ink at all is because she's doing nothing but spouting the liberal, 5th-column Democrat party line.

True GOP members know that Meghan doesn't speak for anyone but her own 15-minutes-of-fame self.

Sherry in SC   April 20th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Since it is apparent that John McCain cannot control his own little spoiled brat and shut her up, it may be better that he did not win. If he can't control her, how would he control the country. She needs to chill out and just shut up. She makes herself look absolutely stupid and she doesn't do anything for the family. Who knows, maybe the Obama's will adopt her to be a pal to Bo. Democrats – please take her – she's just pathetic.

PaulP   April 20th, 2009 12:41 pm ET

Meghan McCain, has to be very careful, of the words she uses. She could very well end up like all the other moderates, in the republican party. Pusshed Out, Locked Out, Shouted Out, looking for some form of intelligence in the Grand Old Party. And soon she'll learn, there isn't any.

Mike F. Norcal   April 20th, 2009 12:40 pm ET

Hasn't Meghan exceeded her 15 minutes? The more she speaks, the less
substantive she reveals herself to be. Meghan, what is it about being a Republican you like, admire, believe in? Get past your superficial self-focus
and you might learn something... you're not a Republican. Maybe since "torture" is now out, your Daddy could get the CIA to force enemy combatants to read your blog.

Tanya   April 20th, 2009 12:40 pm ET

I love Meghan McCain. She says candidly what may be on the minds of many people. Karl Rove is truly an evil person, much like Cheney. But not many Republicans have been willing to speak out about the damage he's done to this country and to the Republican party.

Winston Stanley   April 20th, 2009 12:40 pm ET

I am a parent, and a centrist. I love Meghan's total honesty. She keeps things sane politically. I am certain her parents would agree with me.

Pastor W. B. Stanley

janieb   April 20th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

Sounds like Meghan will say/do anything to stay in the public eye now that the election is over and she has become irrelevant. Don't burn your bridges, honey. You know what they say about karma. Your dad must be embarrassed that you feel your opinions matter to Americans. Go away, go far, far away.

hope   April 20th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

Meghan McCain gives me hope.

Beth   April 20th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

Well duh...Karl Rove IS creepy and dangerous, and most importantly...a criminal.

Peter   April 20th, 2009 12:39 pm ET

Mo   April 20th, 2009 12:38 pm ET

She's just now figuring this out???

sareta   April 20th, 2009 12:38 pm ET

God I love this girl...she is funny...

Roxi   April 20th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

Sure, Rove has a lot to be crticized for – but give me a break. Is 'creepy' all she (and other people) can come up with?? That vacant (and overrused) term shows all the analytical skills of a 12 year old.

Michael   April 20th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

Everything about Karl creeps me out. I'm thinking he's like the confedercy's revenge on the rest of the country. Now he's on this project to re-invent himself as something other than "bush's brain" -which I guess doesn't sound all that complimentary at this point.

RRR   April 20th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

...and Karl Rove is still important HOW?????
it is funny that Republicans on this blog still like Rove????!?!?!?

jumpinugly   April 20th, 2009 12:37 pm ET

She's saying what most young Republicans wish they could. Gotta love this young lady.
But she best be on-guard. Rove has spent his life humiliating others.

Jim   April 20th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

Meghan needs to take a break from bashing all Republicans or just join the Liberals, Democrats and Demogagues. She does not respect the history of conservatives which has in the past succeeded with the right message and programs. Right now, there are many Americans from all directions who feel that ALL government has screwed them. Meghan is being used as a puppet by the liberal media to trash the GOP. BOTH parties are at fault for all the problems in this country. If Meghan wants to be a leader, she should propose solutions to everyday American issues and leave it at that. If her ideas are viable, they will take root. Calling Rove "creepy" is just more of the same stuff we are tired of. Look at all the replies...just name calling, no respect for anyone.

Mike   April 20th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

Rove spying on someone. Is anybody really surprised by that?

jj   April 20th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

What game is she playing? Dont feed into the mess. She is a Rep.,
I wonder what is her motive> We already know what side she is on.
She is trying to get the young votes to become Rep., But she has no ideas just like the party of fools.

Cblue4ever   April 20th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

Mehan McCain is a wolf in sheep's clothing. She is more Democrat than some Democrats are. Whether you like her or not, she does not represent the Republican base. If the Republicans are going to listen to her, then we might as well have a one party system. However, I will give her credit, she has gained attention by expressing her liberal veiws under the Republican banner. If she has any political aspirations, then she will have to swap parties because she'll never gain the voters of the Republican base.

Chris   April 20th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

Rove has always been a Tweep. She is just figuring this out? BTW, when did the daughter of a loosing candidate become daily news? Who really cares what Meghan or Rove say? Is there no other news to report? Tweet that!

Truth Hurts   April 20th, 2009 12:36 pm ET

Karl Roves is a nobody. Meghan has the right to her views and opinions. Karl needs to be arrested along with the rest of the Bush administration!!

James from New York   April 20th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

I agree with "tere". You can easily prevent people from being able to follow you on Twitter. How is this news anyway?

Jeff   April 20th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

I have an idea. During the 2012 election we have two elections...one is based on votes from Americans...our traditional election...the one whose results will determine the outcome. the second is based on votes by people of countries other than the U.S. – a world vote (of confidence) if you will. Do the Republicans want to try this? World opinion DOES MATTER for the U.S.

jake   April 20th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

will Karl Rove be allowed to Twitter from jail?

Kris D., Canada   April 20th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

"Karl Rove's a 'twitter creep'"

Bahahahahahahahaha! That just made my Monday a whole lot better. lmfao.

j-o-h-n   April 20th, 2009 12:35 pm ET

Meghan,

He's not following you personally, (I'm not sure he even has corporeal presence any more), some minion is collecting your words to twist against you in the future.

Ariana   April 20th, 2009 12:34 pm ET

Meghan,

You're soo beautiful and intelligent....now come join the democratic party!!! we love you!

Deb   April 20th, 2009 12:34 pm ET

I am really liking Meghan McCain. She tells it like it is and good for her. Karl Rove spooks me and that is just flicking past him on the television.

katiec   April 20th, 2009 12:34 pm ET

When she said watch out, she wasn't kidding. Although Rove is out of power he is still a very dangerous man. Ask the governor that was arrested on trumped up charges "instigated by Rove".
The fact that the republican party still follow and admire this man
tells you the level of their substance on integrity, and intelligence.
The fact that they still continue his swiftboating methods leaves
doubt to their honor.
The fact that they will not allow what the American people want
to be considered or acknowledged proves they do not care about
the future of our country or us.

Truth Hurts   April 20th, 2009 12:34 pm ET

Meghan Mccain is the only one who is down to earth and realistic. She stands up to the Conservatives regardless of backlash. I think she is a undercover Liberal. They basically is saying that the Conservatives are going to have to change their old ways if they want to move ahead as a party!!

Ken in NC   April 20th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

I'm a Democrat from the era of Viet Nam and I respect her father as one of the many heroes that fought for our country. I respect Meghan for speaking her mind even when she knows her father may not agree with her. It is his way of passing to his children their right to be themselves.

Now Meghan has spoken of the coming storm within the Republican Party and I think she is speaking the truth but I hope the "Old White Guys" refuse to adapt as they should. I hope they keep blabber mouths like Gingrich, Palin, Sanford, Limbaugh and others out front blabbing for them.

They will come to learn eventually that they are irrelevant.

Chloë   April 20th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

Karl Rove follows me on twitter. I was creeped out too.

Doc Ray   April 20th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

Who said liberals and conservatives can't agree. I as a liberal completely agree with Meghan that Rove is creepy.

Meg   April 20th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

I feel sorry for this girl every time she opens her mouth. She's like a train wreck – I don't want to look, but I'm morbidly fascinated by the complete mess she is.

Repub No More   April 20th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

Here's a Mccain I like! Unfortunately she's not going to be able to drag the neanderthals in the party to the 21st century.

Mel of Alexandria   April 20th, 2009 12:33 pm ET

I have always thought that there was something creepy about Karl Rove.
Can someone be charged for "cyber stalking"? It is about time that Rove faces a judge for something, because he has been up to no good for too long.

Amrie Smith   April 20th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

Mcains daughter is just showing the world how stupid she is what a ninny....get a life girl!

tony   April 20th, 2009 12:32 pm ET

People so eager for attention that they twitter thier life away, should not expect any but twits to crae what they do. CNN is this really important enough to really publish, considering the unrest in the world.

John G   April 20th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

She is an outspoken young republican, why is it surprising that other republicans would be interested in what she has to say?

I'll bet anyone a dollar that someone on Obama's staff is also following her blogs.

Ryan   April 20th, 2009 12:31 pm ET

Meghan, leave the dark side and join the Democrats

Michael J   April 20th, 2009 12:30 pm ET

Let's hope that Republicans, including stalker Karl Rove, don't follow Meghan's smart advice for how to improve that dying political party, so that they will lose the Presidential election again in 2012. Repeat after me: Four More Years. Four More Years.

RKL-WPB   April 20th, 2009 12:30 pm ET

Rove Sucks – what a creep!!! and yeah, why ISN'T he in prison?

TJ   April 20th, 2009 12:29 pm ET

So she can follow Rove and that's not creepy, but she wants to label some who follow her creepy. Spoiled brat.

Bob the Observer   April 20th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

I hope so.

phoenix86   April 20th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

Meghan has learned what most in Hollywood already know. It's easy when they go overseas and bad-mouth the US government. Meghan has learned that its easy to keep in the news (if you call it that) by bad-mouthing Republicans. She keeps to the lowest common denominator of intelligence by staying on the democratic wavelength.

Me   April 20th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

michaelam   April 20th, 2009 12:28 pm ET

As a life-long Democrat, I like this girl! Please, jump over to the sane side. Calling Karl Rove "creepy," however, is the understatement of the century. The man is a criminal!

nelson   April 20th, 2009 12:27 pm ET

Wow!

I love the drama. This is better than reality TV. We as America need this. Forget the recession, and the bath we are taking financially. Give us dirt. Give us something to complain about.

Meghan the new face of the Republican party? Could be a good thing, but keep throwing trash at us so she gets swept under the rug like anyone trying to do a good thing.

Maire   April 20th, 2009 12:27 pm ET

Ms. McCain, if you think Karl Rove is "creepy" you obviously haven't been around enough left-wing nutjobs yet. You need to get out more.

Colleen   April 20th, 2009 12:27 pm ET

Megan, please take your ball and go home. You're no republican, and I wish you'd stop trying to pretend you represent the "new younger republicans". I'm a young republican, and I believe you are doing more harm than good right now. The left is using you. You are getting your 15 minutes of fame and the left is laughing. Please do us a favor and let the true republicans speak. Perhaps your time would be better spent by doing charity work. Your wonderful mother Cindy will show you the ropes. Thank you.

wakeupamerica   April 20th, 2009 12:26 pm ET

Rove = disingenous creep! I love it :-) Meghan I think you're truly a Democrat in Republican clothing. It's time for you to come out.

David Henry   April 20th, 2009 12:25 pm ET

Dave   April 20th, 2009 12:24 pm ET

Well that's what you open yourself up to so that's your choice, Meghan. maybe some people think you're a creep. I know I do and hope your 15 minutes evaporate soon. And I'm not even GOP!!!

Well, Rove IS creepy, but It is disingenuous to feign discomfort over the fact that creepy old men are tracking you. I agree, but what did you expect? Rove is the ultimate right wing attack-master, so he will mine your every utterance for something he can construe to score conservative points with. It's how he operates.

Venia PA   April 20th, 2009 12:20 pm ET

Angela   April 20th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

Rove is just creepy in general. I am so sick and tired of all of the negative talk coming from Republicans. Why can't they work to find common grounds for the greater good of this country and stop spinning everything that Obama and his administration does? There is probably no perfect solution but dang gone it...come up with solutions rather than complain and whin about everything.

J.Crobuzon   April 20th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

I always knew Rove was a stalker.

Pete   April 20th, 2009 12:14 pm ET

Meghan McCain seems to be one of the few intelligent, common-sense, honest Republicans aeound these days. The rest are just super-partisan talking sheep.

SJ Johnson   April 20th, 2009 12:13 pm ET

We can certainly understand. A majority of americans have been creeped out by this Creep for years. Why? Because he is a Creep!
I've gained alot of respect for Ms. McCain in recent weeks. Keep up the good work. Rove should be treated like any other stalker.

SHIRLEY "60"   April 20th, 2009 12:13 pm ET

The more hear from this young woman, the more I like her. Repubs should be getting her ready to run in 8 years – she might give a democrat a run for their money if taught properly. Failin Palin is not the female to win, she is too one-dimensional and really doesn't possess many qualities that would appeal to what has now become a bigger, broader voting public.
