Gibbs gives top grades to White House press corps

WASHINGTON (CNN) - As the White House press corps gears up for President Obama's 100-day assessment, what kind of grade does the administration think reporters themselves deserve?

"I'd give them a strong A, Wolf," Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told CNN's Wolf Blitzer Friday. "You guys watch everyday. There are tough questions each and every day and they're looking at and trying to find the stories in this administration.

"I think the job they have to do everyday is to get up and go to work ask tough questions and cover for the American people the job that this administration is doing. I think they're obviously doing a tough job particularly well."

See the White House spokesman on The Situation Room today beginning at 4 pm ET, and catch his full interiew - Countdown to the CNN National Report Card: A Situation Room Special - airing on Saturday at 6 pm ET.

Ironic, considdering the grades he'd get. Anyway, the corps is hand picked by the Obama admin, and then the questioners are purposely selected.

Any word if the press corp was able to get their obama "stains" out of their blue dresses?

We wonder if the press recived a similar score during the "W" days.
Our fond hope is that Giggs continues to carefully cater to the carpin' questions of the cantankerous crowd from across the aisle. "W" has seen a few press secs come and go. Gibbs! Well done boy, and keep up the good work and keep away the goof offs.

HAHAHA. I love Gibb's sarcasm. An A? A for Amateur? Adolescent? No one takes the WH Press Corps seriously. They're all trying to get their gotcha moments like Ed Henry. Ed Henry gets the biggest F out of everyone by the way. Man child.

"Everyday" is one word only when used as an adjective. "Wear your everyday clothes." Otherwise, it's always two words. Forget the Toyota ad, okay?

Of course he gives high grades to the Washington press corp. They have done nothing but throw soft-balls at him since the election.

I think that the press corps is doing a pretty good job, too. The main problem, from their point of view, is the lack of personal drama in President Obama's term so far. No major mis-steps verbally, no major faux pas internationally (sorry, I don't call being polite a mistake), and overall, an amazing shift to transparency.

While I haven't agreed with all of President Obama's decisions, I can actually see where he got them from, since they are logical. VP Biden has kept a low profile, and SoS Hillary has been doing her job effectively. All in all, considering the mess they were dropped into by the previous administration, I think they are doing a "B+" job.

I give top marks to Mr. Gibbs for tolerating the WH press corps as they pry info by repeating questions but changing just a word or two hoping for a mistake or slip of the tongue. They are simply verbiage predators looking for anything to boost ratings and sell more ad space.

Wonder what the grade would have been if the same question had been asked by a Fox News correspondent? Gibbs is the worst press secretary I have ever witnessed- not for this answer but due to his general sniping all the time.

Yeah, they're great. Does anyone remember when Dick Cheney shot Harry Winston on that hunting trip? Every bit as big a story was watching these "journalists" whining that no one TOLD them about it.

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
    He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the devil and satan,and bound him for a thousands years;
and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and SHUT HIM UP,and set a seal on him, so that he should decieve the nations no more till the thousnds years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.Take note CNN

Wow! King Barry gives his sycophantic, delusional followers in the press corp an "A." That is stunning! What's next Michael Moore is fat and biased? Congress is crooked? Wall Street conned everyone? This is an incredible development in this mutual stroke fest between the media and King Barry!

WHAT A SURPRISE!!!!! 99% of them are liberals and the other 1% of these Obama worshippers never get a chance to ask a question. Is this really news worthy?

oh good lord... Gibbs giving the press corp an "A" and saying how "tough" the press corp is like when Saddam Hussein said they held a national election with him receiving 100% of the votes!

The media today is Obama's lapdog! This Administration DICTATES the questions (ie Napolitano telling MSNBC they get to ask only ONE question about the flustercluck memo targeting veterans as terrorists).

I think that what Mr. Gibbs really wanted to say was "Gee, Where was the press core with the tough questions during the Bush Administration? Are these the same people that covered the Bush Administration for 8 years?". But he really couldn't say that. I'll just say it for him.....Where were you?

Mr. Gibbs is gracious, unlike the media who hounds him daily.
