some of you folks out there need to get a grip. yes, the obamas are dancing, and might i add, look like they enjoy one another's company very much. that does not mean that he is not working tirelessly at the job we elected him to do. throwing these types of events are actually part of his job.

and perhaps some of you have forgotten that unlike the rest of us, he actually lives at his place of employment...

Obama Haters will have to get over it. Like it or not, the Obamas will be around for at least four years. You guys did not complain when Bush vacationed most of the time while Rome (America) burned!!

Is your hatred so deep that although they are working hard, you begrudge them enjoying themselves at important events?

GET OVER IT!! Stop wasting your energy to complain!!!!!!

"why are the Obamas dancing when we have not developed a (swine flu) vaccine???"

Obama's had almost 100 days to cure swine flu. Cancer, too.
We need Bush back. He wouldn't have spent time dancing.
While terrorists attacked our nation killing hundreds, Bush read "The Pet Goat'.
While Katrina was killing Americans, Bush played "air guitar", but at least he wasn't dancing.

Who cares about a picture? It isn't really a big deal, there were pictures of President Bush golfing all the time. It isn't some great story and they should be allowed to have some fun. I don' t like Obama one bit, but people don't need to criticize a president for dancing because they need some time off, and besides some of those liberals would always criticize Bush for golfing, so why should Republicans be criticizing Obama for dancing. Every person in power needs to have time to himself, or a break and a vacation.

This probably won't get published, but I wanted to express my opinion. Who knows it might because I am actually not criticizing a president I have no respect for, or like.

How can a man in his position dance the night away and give elaborate parties when the tax payers are fighting for their homes, families. Shame on him.

And why are you sitting there typing on your computer, when there are homeless people and children going hungry in this country. Shame on you.

The significance of this photo is not just the expression of love between a man and his wife, but the fact that the Obamas are surrounded by other people. The floor didn't clear for the President, because he truly is just one of the people, elected by the people, but not ABOVE everyone else.

I know he's made some mistakes in his first 100 days, but i am so happy with how hard he has worked so far. The guy deserves a night on the town with his wife!

Oh my gosh. I've heard everything now and the criticism of the Obamas has reached a new high (low?) They are dancing WHILE THERE IS SWINE FLU!!! They are also dancing while there is cancer, tuberculosis, ALS, heart disease, menopause, PMS, etc. Those crazy Obamas. They really should get back to their room and start working on a cure for these things. Or I guess they could take Bush administration's recommendation on dealing with crisis–and go shopping.
These posts would be funny if they weren't so pathetic.

I love our new president and I love his family. I believe this Country is so lucky to have them in the White House and I applaud their first 100 days. Integrity, dignity, grace, style, compassion, honesty, and fairness. It's been a long time since Washington, or any of us in the USA has seen any of these traits, much less all of them in one man. Congratulations Mr President!!!!!!!

All the whiners out there, President Obama is going to cut your taxes whether you want his help or not. The last election was about Change with a big "C" and that's what we'll all get.

Having fun while Swine flu spreads.... April 26th, 2009 1:08 pm ET

we're faced with perhaps an enormous flu pandemic—-in 1918,
50 million people died of a similar strain—why are the Obamas dancing when we have not developed a vaccine???

Yes, I'm sure the Obamas, and their new dog, should all throw on lab coats and get to work on a vaccine. People...just because there is something going on doesn't mean the president can't live his life. Its not like whenever a situation occurs, he has to be right in the thick of it all the time. Yes, he's the president, but he doesn't have to work 24/7 to make you feel okay and good about yourself. There isn't much he can do to help right now....

  18. Ballroom Dancing....

...this really is not news..Stop whining people.
Many of you still sit down at your table, eat, drink and be merry...while there are starving people around the world...Get a grip!

Nice photo. Give our president a chance. the mess left by the bush corporations was not his faught. he has a lot of responsiblty to fix all those messes so get behind him and give him a chance. i'am proud of him. Thank god McCain and dumbo didn't win the election or we would be worse off. After all the corporations own the GOP(gas and oil party). You really think the republicans give a rats ass about the people. There the prostitutes for americas corporations. Long live democracy. Destroy the republican party once and for all.

To those of you who respond with criticism to any story of the Obama's enjoying their life together, you must be hell to live with.

Do you expect him to be depressed and sullen all the time as an act of "solidarity" with those among us who are suffering? That would be no help to the country. We all need sanity. Everyone needs to find ways to distract themselves from time to time from the daily grind, even when they are unemployed (been there) or heavily in debt (still there). Let's not begrudge the Obama's a dance, or a puppy, or laughter.

They're such a nice couple. I don't know why people are ripping them apart, its like you guys don't do anything but work and be serious 100% of your life. Relax just because someone has fun once in awhile doesn't mean they don't do their work properly. And he's done an amazing job so far, personally I don't know why anyone would want to be President of the U.S I can't see the benefits. But I guess that shows he does care about his country even if some of you will never believe it.

I love that people show this side of the president. It cannot always be about the difficulties this country faces. It is good to see a couple who obviously care for each other so much. We have to see the lighter side of people. As President, there are black tie events and social obligations as well as worrying about the world. We need someone who can love this country and his family.
