Limbaugh to Specter: Please take McCain with you

Limbaugh did concede the downside of Specter's defection.
Limbaugh did concede the downside of Specter's defection.

(CNN) - Conservative host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday he isn't sorry to see Arlen Specter leave the GOP - and that many Republicans wish the Pennsylvania senator would take a few others with him when he goes.

"A lot of people say, 'Well, Specter, take [Sen. John] McCain with you. And his daughter [Meghan]. Take McCain and his daughter with you if you're gonna..." he told listeners, dissolving in laughter.

".....It's ultimately good. You're weeding out people who aren't really Republicans," he said.

Limbaugh did concede the downside of Specter's defection. "It makes the Senate essentially as big a slam dunk for Obama and the Democrats as the House of Representatives already is," he said.

Earlier this month, Specter said Limbaugh did have a tendency to make "provocative" statements, but told radio host Howard Stern he didn't have a problem with the conservative talker. "Do I like Limbaugh?... yeah, I like him," he said then.

UPDATE: Late Tuesday afternoon, Meghan McCain fired back on Twitter. "RED TIL I'M DEAD BABY!!! I love the republican party enough to give it constructive criticism, I love my party and sure as hell not leavin!"

To all the republicans out there, this is your defacto leader? No wonder republicans are bailing at the speed of light. Here in Pennsylvania, we democrats have always voted to keep Arlen Specter. He is an astute politician, who has always voted with his heart not his party. We are proud of him in Pennsylvania. We will not let the republicans spread their hate, lies, racism, and religious rhetoric within our borders. We welcome all republicans who would like to join the party of change, ideas, equality, morality, and just good plain American citizens.

I thought Rush was the face of the GOP. If he had any control, then he would make Spector come back and beg for forgiveness.....wait a minute....that would be Rush high on Oxycontin.....as he usually is.

Think about it....the face of the GOP is a maniac druggie hateful, spiteful lunatic named Rush Slimeball...I mean Limebaugh.

What good can ever come from Rush????????? NOTHING!!!
Please spay and neuter all you conservative talk show hosts

That's right Spector. Don't let the Bigots, hypocrites, racists, wingnuts,
and just plain kooks like Limbaugh hide behind you and use you for their
curtain. Jump out of their way and leave them standing exposed for the derelects they REALLY are.

    HAHAHAHA. . . I can't stop laughing! ! ! !

Right. And the end result of your wishes will be an ideologically pure (and extreme) party on the political fringes holding on to the remenants of power on tiny enclaves. Keep up the good work Rush.

Hmmm, I almost have wonder if Limbaugh is a Democratic double agent considering the damage he's manage to do to the reputation of his party.

Like I wrote earlier, please keep up the good work Rush.

Gee Rush, If you are the shining example of a true Republican – I will stay as far away from the Republican Party. What arrogance & narrow vision!

Yep, the Democratic Senator from the now BLUE Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is not a "True Republican", and neither are Senator McCain, his daughter, Michael Steele, or anyone else who has ever questioned the mighty King Limbaugh. The King should continue to purge HIS party of all those rediculously centrist and moderate heathens. Soon, the Rupublican Party will only consist of The King, Jindal, Palin, the employees of Fox News, and a few inbred rednecks who have more dogs than teeth. BWAH HAH HAH HAH HAH!!!!!

Ultimately good huh Rush? Your Republcian party numbers are dwindling and you're headed the way of the dodo bird...and you think this is good. This sounds like the logic of thrice divorced drug addict who is supposed to be the voice of the party of inflexible morals.

And I think this could be arranged...

The GOPers are getting this all wrong... Everyone who's watched Specter over his career knows that he is no liberal and for them to imply as much is the very reason why their party is shrinking by the day.

    Here we go again...

I'd like to comment on Limbaugh, but if I go further, I will lose intelligence by listening to his garbage.

Rush is right, republicans must uphold their standards of decency, respect, integrity, morals, values and personal responsibility. We should not delute the good that the right represents just to get RINOs elected in evil blue areas.

It doesn't matter who your god is, if you feel confident in facing him with the way you have conducted your life then you are a republican, if you fear a god based on a selfish, taker, hateful life you have lived, then you can go join the party for you as Specter has done.

Arlen Specter, John McCain, Meghan McCain. Wow! These three have more common sense and decency than the rest of the GOP put together. And the count (3) equals the number of brain cells Rush has.

Limbaugh to Specter: Please take McCain with you.....

    =============================================================

If he does that, there would only be, what??.......like 5 or 6 Repubs left in the Senate (LOL).

......and I thought that Michael Steele sounded like a spurned ex-lover; Limbaugh's gonna lose his mind over the next couple of weeks!!!

I have to give Rush Limburgh credit, he admits he wants no one in the Republican Party that does not see things exactly as he does. I wonder how many remaining Rep. Senators feel the same way, and will support Rush´s comments, or if they will exhibit some manhood and let him know that he is doing a great deal of harm to the party. If they keep quiet on this matter, The GOP will no longer be the minority party , but the very very, minority party. I think the rest of us shoud thank both Mr Limbough and Mr. Steele. They are the real supporters of the Democratic Party. The Democrats can´t buy this kind of publicity.
