Bennett: Obama gets 'incomplete' on the economy

Voters on CNN.com gave President Obama an A for his handling of the economy.

What are they drinking out there?

Maybe an A for effort - it's definitely big and large.

But it's too early to give a massive spending package like that any grade.

UPDATE: Turns out after all votes were tabulated, Obama gets a B from CNN.com readers on his handling of the economy. This is still too high!

With all due respect, you Americans do not get it. It is very clear to the world that you created this economic crisis due to a lack of regulatory process. You are just going to have to pay the price by investing trillions of dollars into the financial system to save it from collasping. President Obama is right in saying that the American public does not want to be a long term shareholder in banks and auto companies. However, unfortunately, the American public has found itself as a venture capitalist in order to save the system. As a venture capitalist, it has to excerice its rights as an investor in order to protect its capital. The government had no other choice but to become a private enterprise investor. As an investor it has had to act as any venture capitalist would. President Obama thinks logically and acts logically. Sure there is risk in the investment policies of the current government but the economic climate is such that you have to take these risks. Hopefully the investment position that the American government has taken in banks and auto companies will bear fruit with a more than a reasonable rate of return to the American public. The US system should take a close look at the regulatory system we have in Canada and not be so naive to think that only it the only viable economic system in world. It is time for the American public to get its head out fo the sand and realize that others in the world are just as capable (and maybe even more so) as the Americans to lead the global economy.

Mr. Bennett, Will you get over IT?!!!! Your negative, biased, commentary is such a waste of energy! Suggestion: Get a grip! Shift your focus to what YOU can contribute positively, that will support necessary resolutions to the issues facing this country and the world.
