Americans think the Obama Administration's performance on improving the economy deserves a C.

(CNN) - A new national poll suggests that Americans think the Obama Administration's performance on improving the economy deserves a C.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Wednesday, as President Barack Obama marks 100 days in office, asked respondents to use a grading scale of A, B, C, D and F, where A is excellent and F is very poor.

Eighteen percent of those questioned gave an A, 29 percent a B, 21 percent a C, 12 percent a D and 20 percent a F. The Obama administration's grade for its performance on improving the country's economy averaged out to a C.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll was conducted April 23-26, with 2,019 adult Americans questioned by telephone. The survey's sampling error is plus or minus two percentage points.

Just wait until several things happen that 99% of the posters here have no concept of.

1. T-Bills that Obama has to keep pushing will have to be re-priced upwards as credit risk has to be repriced. Sooner or later other countries will simply refuse to keep buying our paper unless we significantly increase the yield for their risk. He's put the taxpayers on the hook for this. I guess since 50 million don't pay any Federal Income Taxes or very little what do they care?

2. Higher taxes on everyone are inevitable. Obama is giving away a miniscule tax cut right now, but that is going to be gone after he lets the Bush tax cuts expire. And after that he'll have to start hiking taxes.
He's banking of 4% GDP growth and their is no way that's going to happen.

3. GDP will have a huge drag on it from the gigantic amount of additional interest we will be forced to pay on the money he's borrowing to mortgage the future of our country. It's amazing how so many people think this is a good idea. You would think people would be able to understand why this isn't a good idea especially since we just experienced the results of overspending as a country. So what does our government then do? The same thing we just did,...that makes no sense whatsoever. Yet for some reason, Obama has all his supporters all gaga over this, which is incredible.

4. His foreign policy if you want to call it that, will result in disaster. Radical islam knows he's weak and won't do anything to them. I will be shocked if we aren't attacked in the next couple of years. He sets free some of the most dangerous terrorists ever captured, and then decides to tell our enemies top secret interrogation information.

5. He has done absolutely nothing to stimulate the economy. He's going to kill small business with tax increases. Apparently he doesn't understand who actually provides jobs to other people. Where does he think the jobs come from anyway? This "trickle up" talk is just plain nonsense. These people aren't job creators, which is what this country needs.

emma   April 29th, 2009 10:29 pm ET

A+, especially considering the crappy economy he inherited from Bush.

Those who give him lower marks are probably still employed and think they will have a job forever-I was laid off a professional job at 6 months pregnant. I've a masters degree and years of work experience but I have to collect unemployment because there are few jobs and, though no one admits it, who wants to hire a pregnant woman? (now at 39 weeks).

I'm glad President Obama is extending unemployment benefits, approved the plan for mortgage modifications and agreed to subsidize COBRA. It is incredible helpful for responsible individuals and families who, like me, are caught in an unfortunate situation.

Joe   April 29th, 2009 10:21 pm ET

Just listen to these total shills on CNN expect for the follow in the end who has some brains. What an aburdity, Obama promised transparency and bipartisanship and not "politics as ususal", what a crock.

Oh boy, let's put up windmills and solar panels. If that stuff was so cost effective we would have done it long ago. All that stuff sounds great in a speech, but in reality it's just a pathetic joke. That stuff just isn't as practical as nuclear power and drilling offshore.

Not to mention the debt load Obama is dumping on us for absolutely no reason at all. What did all his spending stimulate? Nothing that I can see.

karela   April 29th, 2009 10:05 pm ET

This grade averaging thing isn't very helpful on any of these questions, because in most cases about three fourths of the country seems to think that everyone is doing average and above. And the D's and F's just happen in every case to be about the same as the 21% of the country who still claim to be Republicans. All the moderates have left the Republican party. All that's left in that group are the far right hard liners. I'm not interested in going to the far left either, but in this climate, it does seem that the hard line right wing Republicans are all hate filled and angry. One never sees Boehner when he isn't either dead eyed or red in the face. The Republicans in the House and Senate vote No on everything as a block. That isn't helpful. They aren't working to find common ground. They're trying to get elected next time by pleasing their base. Good luck. It's hard to win anything with 21% and with 60% of Independents saying they favor Obama's work so far.

The president and his team gets an A*

After 8 years of what we had with president Bush, what else could anybody in there right mind, say anything different--–

JDS   April 29th, 2009 9:46 pm ET

I think Obama gets high marks on everything and that really this whole grading thing is a waste of time. None of us are objective and neither are most of the panel.
A grade should be objective.
It seems much better just to discuss pros and cons.
But it is a nice effort to change things up.

Mildred Collins   April 29th, 2009 9:30 pm ET

I give him an A+

Connie Bradshaw   April 29th, 2009 9:08 pm ET

I think the President Obama has done an excellent job on getting our economy started we have a long way to go but we did not get here overnight. This took years of oversight of what Wall Street was doing and what was really going on in our economy,

Stan Neigut   April 29th, 2009 9:06 pm ET

I seriously doubt the results of the CNN Opinion Research Corporation. I would like to know how the sampling was done and how it compares to the population demographics. I also would like to know what statistical technique was used to determine an average. I also think using an adult sample of 2,019 and giving the impression that this is the opinion of the adult American population , especially using a telephone, is asinine, fraudulent, and and makes CNN a questionable source of honest communications.

andy   April 29th, 2009 9:05 pm ET

jwolfi from Kentucky- You're right, some people just go by what they are told. They don't have the ability to think, read and develop their own opinion.

He gets an F.

Dave   April 29th, 2009 8:56 pm ET

Eighteen percent of those questioned gave an A, 29 percent a B, 21 percent a C, 12 percent a D and 20 percent a F. The Obama administration's grade for its performance on improving the country's economy averaged out to a C.

Nearly 50% (47%) rating him a B or A with only 32% D or F (and the F is only 2 points higher than the A)..yet this averages out to a C????!!! how does that work??
Actually you dont have to be an expert to see that this averages out to a C+ at least not a C or are we not doing + or – grades? Nice work CNN...not particularly accurate stats or useful though
personally..I give him a B so far and the republicans an F...I think if you asked me again in 200 more days his grade will have gone to either an A or a C, but lets give him a chance shall we? We need him to succeed.

Ecoguy   April 29th, 2009 8:56 pm ET

A-

I feel that Mr. Obama has been doing a relatively good job for the US and for the world. He has turned back the facsist un-American ideals and values which trashed and coerced our country and our world by the previous administration, and Mr. Obama has once again lit the candle of hope which had been extinguished for the past eight years offering us a better tomorrow and a potential to actually achieve and secure the historical American dream.

However, I believe that more thought and investigation could have been given to his appointments, and I strongly believe that he should initiate war crime procedures against those individuals in the previous administration who threatened and disregarded international laws of military engagement which we, the United States, agreed to and signed. No one, especially the president of the US or individuals in the Bush administration should be ABOVE the law.

Shadowfax731   April 29th, 2009 8:56 pm ET

F+ (plus o-n-l-y because it seems that he's trying!) I am a registered DEMOCRAT, a strong supporter of President Obama who voted for him in Democratic primary and general Presidential election! I do WANT him to succeed!!!

The IMF has been saying all along that the so-called "Economic Stimulus" should have been invested in INFRASTRUCTURE; even Obama's OWN big Internet Feedback polling called for a new WPA! And yet 99+% of the money has gone directly into the pockets of the richest bankers in the world...the VERY Bastards who created the Crisis!!! Banks are lending less and, at the same time, they are viciously and blatantly fleecing the most vulnerable and hurting victims of this manufactured depression – Credit Card customers!! ZERO limitations or restrictions on how Bail-out Money may be spent! No effective accountability after-the-fact for where the Bail-out Money has gone! 5% of the money poured into corporate bonuses and luxury jets and junkets for Wall Street fatcats would have effectively saved and potentially transformed the US Auto industry!!!

F+ . . . I am NOT a Republican, just a Democrat very disappointed in Obama and his team!

Disgusted   April 29th, 2009 8:55 pm ET

Bush would have got a very low grade also. The reason I mention Bush? I think most of the people that think they like Obama really just hated Bush. How would you look at this if Clinton had been the previous president. You actually think you would think Obama was doing that great? He's very good at making speeches. It's like when you go talk to your boss about a raise. Your boss tells you how great you are, how much you are needed, how the company has had some hard times and is just starting to improve, if you can just wait until next year and he will make up for the raises you have missed. You come out feeling pretty good about yourself. But the bottom line is you have a job to make money and you just got screwed. That's pretty much what's going on. Obama just said in his speech how impressed he is by the patience of the American people, how they stick together, how they are building confidence. Sound familiar? Do you remember the Bush speech after 9/11? It was very close to the same. Obama was just asked about state secrets. His answer? It should be modified....how much more vague can he be? Modified? Which way? Tighter or looser restrictions? He doesn't say.Obama was asked about being a shareholder. He said he doesn't have time to run a company... Out of touch? Shareholders don't run companies, ceo's do. If the companies make a lot of money it would be smart to keep the investments. Maybe it could help pay down the national debt.

barry k.   April 29th, 2009 8:54 pm ET

I think he is doing great, as well as anyone could do under all the pressure of the world today . I would find it very hard to handle his job, and i really think he is the right person for the job. me, for example would tell north korea where to go, so lets give him a break , we all should work together with our president , everyone, on all issues, and thank god we have a strong president, healthy someone that can talk and has our best interest in mind. so there. thanks barry

God Bless America!

B+ There have been many mistakes. That is to expected with any new administration. They are trying to solve problems that we all had some part in creating.

As for those who complain about the spending; are you ready to cut social security/medicare/welfare?

Are you like Tx., tell the government to get out of your state yet be the first to ask for aid in dealing with the flu scare?

One minute he's trying to do too much, the next he's doing things wrong. I don't get it. He gets an A- from me. Good job so far but I know he is not perfect.I'm just glad we have a president who acknowledges the everyday people of all races and backgrounds.

Non Partisan   April 29th, 2009 8:24 pm ET

I give him a 'D'. I vote for the most qualified. I wanted Condoleeza Rice and my next pick was Hillary. I was then hoping Mitt Romney would win. If the Democratic party would have counted correctly Hillary would have won. They didn't count the votes from Florida or Michigan. They said they hadn't followed the rules. Later on they recinded that decision at the convention. So if you added the votes that were not given to Hillary, she won. I certainly am not descriminating against blacks or women, especially being I wanted Condoleeza. Bur Barrack is not qualified and is proving it more each day. Effort? Every president we have ever had put out effort, even George Bush. Being he is in office I hope he learns quick. If not, we are all in trouble. Try reading or watching something other than CNN. Better yet, watch C-span or a channel from a different country. Do you people think the president telling the world that we were wrong and we tortured people? He needs to think about the country instead of still wanting to jab Bush. Just think, if you were a terrorist, would you give up information if they just let you watch TV and lay around. I guess Obama didn't grow up with the saying most of us did. Remember " anything goes in love and war" That saying was made because if you don't use everything, you will lose!

Cory Harris   April 29th, 2009 8:24 pm ET

All those idiots that give him a f when he has only been there 100 days are racists or just dam fools. If he got a f what did bush get ? Look I rather you just say your racist and get it over with because your grade of f doesn't make sense because of two things one he has change the worls view of the states and policies that was indeed foolish from the past President. So if Grandpa munster MCcain was in office things would be better. NOT!!!

Chenna Benna   April 29th, 2009 8:23 pm ET

I give the president and his team a B on the economy. This grade could go up or down depending how the economy goes during the rest of the year. By most estimates, it should begin a turnaround by the end of the year, so we will see then.

Debra, Cali   April 29th, 2009 8:22 pm ET

I think with all the President inherited from the past 8 years, he is doing a fine job. I would personally grade him an A, there is always room from improvement. I hear alot of criticism from mostly the Republican party regarding his economical plan, what happend to their voices when the last President (no disrepect intended) and his administration was spiraling the country in this direction.

Shelley   April 29th, 2009 8:22 pm ET

Wonder if this comment will stay....... Perhaps CNN is looking for F's????

Rajinder Goyal   April 29th, 2009 8:22 pm ET

Obama ia a highly tlenated and gifted individual who gets my vote for an S grade for his overall performane. Add another 5% for thafcat that these people will vote against him because of his racial origin. Plus another five percent for the mess that he inherited. Put it all together, and yoy have the making of a first class president who reaches out to people, is sincere trying to change the direction USA has been heading prior to his arrival. He will go on to become one of the best US Presidents ever. Make no mistake about it. He knows what is he doing. If only the Republicalns would take some lessons in cooperation and accomodation, America would be a whole letter better off. The GOP is a party of non-cooperation and obstructionist attitudes.

Carol   April 29th, 2009 8:22 pm ET

I think this President would be wonderful if he would be in another country as all the people we have working on the things he wants to accomplish are not Americans> The Rich get richer and the poor get Poorer. I would trade any of my days for all the wealth this man has.

Jose from TX   April 29th, 2009 8:21 pm ET

A+ for excellence and sheer genius. A+ for being kind and compassionate to all Americans, not just the Anglo males like the GOP. A+ for being inclusive versus the other party now led by Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin.

John/Missouri   April 29th, 2009 8:21 pm ET

I give him an A. He's set very ambitious goals; working to lay the foundation of a strong economy, trying to restore America's standing in the world community. He keeps his cool in the face of ridiculous criticism from the right and keeps on working toward what he knows will help all Americans.

Mildred Collins   April 29th, 2009 8:20 pm ET

The entire administration including the President are doing a great job. I give them all a grade of A (100percent). They are all faced with a job no one could of imagined they would have had to faced.

I also think that your report card is poor in its design. I think you would not have done this to anyone else other than Obama. I think you know what I am saying.

Robin (FL)   April 29th, 2009 8:19 pm ET

I give the president a "D". Although there has been some assistance I do not believe enough is being done to help small business and the common worker. The paycheck tax break has not gone far in my household so we fail to see how the stimulus package is supposed to help us. People are still going into foreclosure..so how it is helping there?? I strongly disagree that the Automakers should have been bailed out. They had a bad business plan and should have been left to fail as such.

Automakers have been bailed out with tax-payer money....

Big Business had been bailed out with tax-payer money...

Banks have been bailed out with tax-payer money...

So where is the bail out for the tax-payer?? D – across the board.

justin from Tx.   April 29th, 2009 8:19 pm ET

F he is dragging this country down and now want to raise taxes. Yea , we can't hardly pay our light bill but we can pay more taxes! Why won't we drill for our own oil instead of getting it from everyone else? That would boost our economy and create a lot more jobs! 100 day in office and the deficit is 20% larger. His inauguration cost more than anyone else's and no one said a word. What is wrong with this picture? I hope he wakes up soon because if not we are in big trouble! This is where experience would pay off!

jans   April 29th, 2009 8:19 pm ET

F A complete amature, not even looking like he knows what he is doing. Never takes responsibility and all he does is apologize for being an American. It is like watching a train wreck you know it is coming nothing you can do.

C   April 29th, 2009 8:16 pm ET

Yes, I have three children and two grandchildren and I would still give Pres. Obama an A+. He's actually trying to do something the get this economy going in the right direction again. Does anyone actually think that if we did nothing except give "tax cuts" to the rich that we would be better off. Yeah, right.....

Carol Taylor   April 29th, 2009 8:16 pm ET

Anyone to grade the current administration with an F must be a complete and utter "REPUBLICAN" minded and uneducated individual! We have been in this recession or what you could call a depression (this depending on whether you have a job or whether you are unemployed and seeking for employment) since the year 2008, but the Bush administration refused to admit this and instead of reacting, covered up the signs with "POLITICAL BULL%$#@". Americans have been blind and unwilling to open our eyes. This is not something new. WE the PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA need to take back what is ours, our FREEDOM and our COUNTRY!!!

Considering the onslaught of problems this country is facing , that this administration just took over on January 20th and was essentially formed on the march, while dealing with one crisis after another, the performance of the Obama government has been outstanding.

Only two other presidents have inherited such a mess on inaguration day: Lincoln and FDR.

We do not know what the future will bring or how history will in the end look at the Obama presidency but, if these 100 first days are an indication of future performance, President Obama will be remembered as one of the greatest presidents this country as ever had.

Iwould give Pres Obama a A on his handling of the economy. He inherited a lot of these financial problems and he really was head-on in trying to resolve these issues. Pres Obama was upfront on how these issues can get resolved.

Shame on those government officials who keep on WHINING – that Obama's budget is a just spending; and yet they cannot even articulate what solutions they can offer on the table!

God Bless President Obama and his family!

My Opinion   April 29th, 2009 8:09 pm ET

Going by the comments I read, this country is in more trouble than I thought. I agree with some, such as Obama was not elected as much as the Republican party was voted out after Bush damaged the Republican party. Giving an A for effort is what you give kids in grade school. The economy is still very unstabe. So far all Obama has done is increase the national debt to a level never seen before.

I almost gave up on life when i was diagnosed with terminal lupus 3 years ago.

After watching all that you have gone threw and accomplished. I feel that i can now do anything with my life.

Your spirit is so strong, and your soul is a very old one. The wisdom that you carry when you speak goes strait to my heart, to give me the courage to go on and pass that message on to my children. That they to can make a difference and a change to do anything they want if they put there mind and there heart into it .

I grade you an A plus

The Obama adminastration deserves an A+. I wish the republicans would get off from their soap boxes and work for the American people that voted for them. Maybe the people will wise-up and rethink that vote.

1. A huge increase in an already huge deficit.
2. Government pressure/takeover of automotive industries which will result in thousands of additional job losses – I'll bet a lot of automotive employees are rethinking their November vote.
3. Almost certain socialization of several major economic sectors including finance, transportation, and possibly health. Check the health reports from Canada and Britain, which have nationalized health care, long waits for procedures and access, and rationing of care – in other words, the government decides whether or not your treatment is "cost effective" – you have no say.

If this looks like an A, then I assume your criteria are that the government will give you freebies now, and you don't care what happens a year, five, ten, or twenty from now. A president who is an A+ communicator is persuading the public that his policies are good for the U.S. By the time enough people recognize the consequences, they will understand that they should have looked more closely and critically at where those programs and policies would take them. For all of our sakes, I hope the public quickly recognizes the D to F score that President Obama should be receiving for his economic policies.

Obama has taken on a task of rescuing the nations economy and if accountable for his actions on his 100th day in Office I would give him an A.
The way he has elected his cabinet and came out swinging since day one with solutions to our nations needs instead of pointing the finger of blame is not only professional but that, which, best represents the highest oath to office in the most eloquent way of that being President of the United States.
I send our President my prayers and will stand behind him in what is neccessary to resue our nation out of ruins.

I believe that President 0bama , under the present circumstances has performed exceptionally well . We haven't experienced since the 1930's , a world wide downturn in the economy , that effects millions of peoples lives , at all ages . Each Country is proceeding to implement whatever stimulus action that they deem necessary to help turn the economy around . To date , President 0bama appears to have not only acted responsibly , but in a timley and transparent manner . To be critical of his performance in the first 100 days of his Presidency , in my opinion is not reasonable . An upturn in the world economy , is going to require patience for at least 2 years .
It would be interesting if CNN was to examine/monitor what is happening in other countries , in terms of how their stimulus action is working , and then compare it with the USA .
In conclusion I would give President 0bama an " A " Rating !

Thank you for the opportunity to express my views .

I thought Obama was great on the campaign trail. Why is he still out campaigning? It appears that he is running all over the place trying to put out fires and fix things that are broken. He can't change a person no more than I can and I can't watch his speeches anymore. I also stopped listeing to George W. Bush's speeches. The same thing... POLITICS is all it is. We are in a constant campaign with politicians including the presidents jockeying around for the their own next election. It is me & my party in Washington, D.C. no matter which side of the aisle you are on, this is what the people who are "our government" are doing. They don't "really" care about us.

I feel this country is exceptionally blessed to have this president at the realm during these very difficult time. He hit the floor running from day one. When does this man rest? You could always find the previous president on the golf course during crisises. With all the monumental issues of the day he is so very transparent: unlike the previous administration that only shared information on a 'need to know basis'. He is personable, candid and he maximizes all resources available to him. I don't envy him as he moves forward in his quest to find resolutions to the many problems on the table.

I salute him. I respect him and I thank him from the bottom of my heart

F – If you know and understand the economy, you would feel the same way. Government is inefficient and cannot make an economy work. People make the economy work. This is going to cause massive inflation. I, along with every Democrat I know, complained about George Bush's spending and "taking a surplus into a deficit." Why, all of the sudden, do Democrats now sing a different tune with President Obama racking up the largest deficit in the history of this nation? Stop being so partisan and try and be unbiased when you answer that question.

I m giving a C, it is depressing to see the lack of help for the people of this nation and little to being done to stop the abuse of credit industry that is making out better then ever. Real help would be to REDUCE all rates with a max for the people of this nation with the lower pay ,no pay and higher costs of everything else.
Another thing, we could help Americans make money by investing in our nation by bond purchases instead of selling debt to our neighbors in China that we have sold our nation out to already, currently no fair trade with at all.
No mention of the lame tactics of Wall Street that stole the life savings of many Americans now cannot survive the future and already have no pensions and lower paying jobs , I have not seen much change to help people that need help. What we need is to go to work and have a little fairness.

Charlie in Maine   April 29th, 2009 7:54 pm ET

There are two methods for evaluation; Critirion based and normative.
In criterion based the job of the person to be evaluated is compared with a list of skills or outcomes. On this I would give him an B+ for what he has done so far (it is early yet). An A+ for effort.
He scores much better on the normative evaluation. That is where his job is compred to others in the same position. Compared to the hatchet job W.Bush and his gang of thugs did both at home and abroad: Obama gets an A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++.
Coming after W Bush;
disadvantage= horrible mess
advantage= bar is set so low that Obama had risen above it by 2:30 in the afternoon on Innaugeration Day. (he'd have done it sooner but he had to break for lunch)

Mr. Y   April 29th, 2009 7:54 pm ET

Obama is doing great. Your wall of activities for the first 100 days is a joke!! I suggest you have a list of the stories filed by the various media sources for the first 100 days which will clearly reflect how the public is getting its information and spin on each story. The fact that you are attempting to do this analysis reflects how poorly the media is really doing its job...what relevance does the DOW have on a daily basis. Your concept is critically flawed!

steve smith   April 29th, 2009 7:54 pm ET

He is a moron. Deceptive. Dishonest. Nowhere near as smart as the media suggests. Is a leftist, socialist agenda seeking apparatchik. The public did not vote for this– they voted to replace Bush and thought he was a moderate. Watch two things– First, how bad it is going to be when we have a real crisis (when Al Quaeda hits, for example) and how he either does nothing or overreacts (learning by doing). Second, the first Obama appointments are not so bad (most of them, except a few of them such as Napolitano and Geitner) The next wave, after the more moderate people leave, will be his fellow travelers. This is awful and going to get worse.

Terri   April 29th, 2009 7:52 pm ET

F – he is turning our country to socialism. We will be paying for his spending for the next two generations.

Harvey   April 29th, 2009 7:52 pm ET

Gets an F , he put the same peolpe who caused this financial mess
in charge . Now they are bailing out all their friends and sticking you and me with the bill

Carol Tyus   April 29th, 2009 7:52 pm ET

He's doing the best he can. The Senate and the Congress need to step up to the plate. They forgot about teamwork. We Americans and the rest of the world believe the Senate and Congress to be a much of old foggies with old ways and old ideas.

When are the investigations into the Fanny-Freddy fiasco to begin? If we don't have anyone responsible, how do we know the same people, pursuing the same agenda aren't still in charge, no wait , THEY ARE !!!

Grade A+. The pres. is a superman. He's working on so many issues, his focus is on the good of the nation and he disregards politics if it interferes.

I give Obama a A . It is going to take quite a longer time to get things back to what it was 8 years ago.

Beverly Welch   April 29th, 2009 7:51 pm ET

He gets an A from me . With the mess he inherited he has done amazing. He has given the US a new face to the world.God Bless the Obamas.

kevin   April 29th, 2009 7:51 pm ET

A for effort. End result to be seen, but I'm optimistic.

Joyce Glaser   April 29th, 2009 7:51 pm ET

Personally he's got a long long way to go assisting taxpayers. The government talks about bring jobs to the unemployed yet many organizations move operations to other countries and leave us in the soup line. We need to spend more time taking care of ourselves first.

andelka   April 29th, 2009 7:51 pm ET

CNN opinion Poll, get's the results CNN wants

Peggy Royston   April 29th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

I give the President an A+ for all the hard work he is doing to straighten out this mess we are in due to the poor leadership of the past decade+, the blatant racist behavior by the GOP by not supporting and working with the President and for the non-tax paying Congressional leaders who I bet if they were audited by the IRS would be able to fund many of the programs without taxation or borrowing money from other nations. President Obama is the best. I agree with Mark from Texas that if he were not working so hard and furiously to find solutions we would be in a deep depression. Thank you Mr. President, and First Lady Michelle for your efforts and support of the President so he is able to do all he can do and be all he can be. Thank you Malia and Sasha for sharing your dad with us. Believe me the media doesn't show how many of us are grateful for the sacrifice your whole family has made. God bless you and your family!

NC listener   April 29th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

I give him a C only because it is still early. If he keeps blaming everything on the past (Bush) and spending our money like there is no tomorrow, he should feel lucky to get a F.

Katie from IA   April 29th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

I feel Pres. Obama gets an A, he has done more in the past 100 days than Pres. Bush did in 8 years.

lana   April 29th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

Wolfe said the grade was an A. Then Soledad and her assistant said the grade was a C. This voting is rigged and inaccurate and a complete waste of time. If CNN cannot report the results correctly why get involved?

Geithner's grade was already given to us a C before we even voted. The system is still saying now that you are waiting for results and Wolfe gave the grade of C several minutes ago.

This report card is completely inaccurate.

axl in iowa   April 29th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

Big fat F. The economy, unemployment, and the GDP has only gotten worse and Obama has only blown a ton of money. Money we can't afford.

Sophie N. Charles   April 29th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

A+, his powerful words, kind heart, and smart decisions should get a perfect score. GO OBAMA!!!

Linda K   April 29th, 2009 7:50 pm ET

His administration is doing the greatest job ever...taking over a big mess from George and starting to pull us our of a depression.

toosuper52   April 29th, 2009 7:49 pm ET

My husband is a consultant and makes an easy six figure income. Before the President took office, we were living off savings for 7 months. I had no job so I went to school and learned a new skill in the healthcare field. We were really getting to the point where we thought about dipping into our IRA accounts. Now, my husband has a long term assignment out of state and I was able to find a job in the health care field as a phlebotomist. We're both feeling more optimistic about the economy, the stock market has been going up, and I've been personally expressing my patriotism by shopping for non essential items!

ray   April 29th, 2009 7:49 pm ET

I agree with mark, from tx but i still don't understand why they wouldn't give every american a million dollars that would have easily solved the problem

D.   April 29th, 2009 7:49 pm ET

Who are these people who gave the administration an F? Are these the John King's viewers?

The president doing a terrific job considering the mess the economy was already in by bush administration.Clinton did an obama doing exactly wat they said they would do and more and putting the american people first unlike wat happen during the bush era.

Ewald   April 29th, 2009 7:49 pm ET

A for his tireless effort with the mess he inherited.

Przemek Lodej   April 29th, 2009 7:48 pm ET

An "F" for:

1. Lack of fundamental understanding of the causes of this economic meltdown.
2. Lack of fundamental knowledge of sound solutions to the problem.
3. Lack of fundamental moral and ethical standards in the distribution of the financial bailout.

Maybe next time the president will ask the citizens, or by the current look of it the comrades, about what to do with their tax money. An "F" Mr.President is the highest grade you will receive from me.

Tippy44   April 29th, 2009 7:48 pm ET

No other choice but an A. Look at the mess the Republicans left us in and now they want us to believe that they are fiscally responsible.

jans   April 29th, 2009 7:48 pm ET

F this guy opens his mouth and the dow tanks 300 points. He may be a good student but the real world is a far cry for the textbook. This whole administration looks like amature hour.

john   April 29th, 2009 7:48 pm ET

I gave Obama a F on the economy and I know of others who did also. But cnn is saying that america graded him at an A. Shout out if you gave Obama an D or F

Pat Makowski   April 29th, 2009 7:47 pm ET

Obama deserves an F for what he's done to our economy, our corporations and banks, our jobs, our 401K plans, and his promised energy tax as well as other taxes.

ML   April 29th, 2009 7:45 pm ET

Obama gets an A. He is doing a great job considering what he took over from the Bush and Republicians. I can't wait to see how and what this country is going to be like in the near future with Pres. Obama. It's going to be exciting and history in the making and we are lucky enough to witness.

ctvoter   April 29th, 2009 7:45 pm ET

Come on, learn about statistics! Show the distribution, don't lead with a headline on the marginally higher biggest percentage. A big problem in this country of ours is that people don't understand the science behind polls (and politicians), which doesn't help the reading public nor the journalists who go for the headline.

Tony   April 29th, 2009 7:44 pm ET

If I was a Socialist...I would have given him an A.

tamara   April 29th, 2009 7:44 pm ET

what were the demographics?

tommy hammond   April 29th, 2009 7:44 pm ET

I beleive obama has his own agenda that does not include the well being of america. His statements while overseas was un-american and we will see more of this side of him as time passes.

elaine barber   April 29th, 2009 7:43 pm ET

I give him a A for trying so hard

henya   April 29th, 2009 7:43 pm ET

Hello,
My grade for President Obama overall is A+

Robyn   April 29th, 2009 7:43 pm ET

A
Give the guy a chance. At least you KNOW he is trying. It's not an easy job. The economy is not an easy task. Let's all get together and support his efforts instead of fight him each step of the way. He will go down in history as THE BEST PRESIDENT ever.........time will prove this to be true!

elvira   April 29th, 2009 7:43 pm ET

we giveing him A+ HE DOING GRIET

Lois Hall   April 29th, 2009 7:42 pm ET

Greetings!

Thanks for the opportunity. My grade is a A+, considering, those who have closed minds. Leaders for our country, requires keeping one's mind on, what is in the best interest of moving forward with "courage for changes!" Past beliefs and doubters reflect the down side of keeping purity in its place for "self-destruction," and non progression for people in our world. Slavery politics, does not bring forth progress...

Simmy   April 29th, 2009 7:42 pm ET

I give it an A+. He came into office with the weight of the country on his shoulders. How can anyone not be appreciative of his efforts. He doing a superb job....Give Republicans an F+.
