WASHINGTON (CNN) – The White House is launching a new official photostream on Flickr as President Obama marks the 100th day of his new administration, continuing the extensive use of social networking technologies that helped power him into the Oval Office.
Nearly 300 photos taken by White House photographers have been posted to the photo sharing site Tuesday. The pictures chronicle the young administration and provide some behind-the-scenes views of the first family. One picture features the president and the family's new dog in the White House's private residence. Another photo shows Obama tossing a football into the air as he sits at his desk in the Oval Office.
The photos have been made available to the public under a copyright license that allows users of the site to share and adapt the images so long as credit is given to the White House as the source of the original images.
"We want to make the White House more open and accessible for the American people," Obama spokesman Nick Shapiro said of the postings on Flickr. "And this is just one way we are using the Internet and new media technology to accomplish that."

That is so totally cool.
Ahhh... the TMZ whitehouse
A President of the 21st century. If McCain were president, the pictures would have been taken with a Kodak dispesable camera.
The photos were taken by a government employee. They are part of the public domain, and are not covered under any copyright.
The WH tried to do the right thing here (since Flickr doesn't make it easy to mark photos as public domain) - however, CNN and other outlets need to be careful to not give people the wrong impression.
The White House photos are _not_ under a CC license.
president Obama you may be a great leader but your no dog walker. You have to walk the dog, not let him walk you.you have to show the dog who"s really the boss.talking here doesn't work. dogs have a problem with most spoken language. They do good at something close to show and tell, also they love rewards
I think the entire Obama family needs to go to puppy school. Every picture I see, Bo is dragging someone around, and the dog is running the show. It isn't the puppy's fault, the Obama parents never had a dog as children. Someone needs to show them how to train this puppy, or they will get to the point of not enjoying him at all. I have a 3 month old puppy that I have been working with for the last 4 weeks, and he heels when we walk outside, learned to sit, lay down and stay. The Obama family pix remind me of the movie, "Turner and Hooch", where the dog is clearly in command. lol
Loving this first family. They are so human, so real and so enjoyable. I really feel they like people and know there is a whole world outside of the WH.
Thank you for sharing these photographs.
From this photo its hard to tell which one of you is having a bad hair day. It appears your both suffering some discomfort.
BO the Dog Looks a Little Hyper!
very cool
Obama sure does have a lot of free time in the White House.
It looks more like the dog is walking him.
Somebody please give the Obama's some training in Obedience training. The dog should not be pulling him around.
Those pictures are awesome.
Correction for the caption of that picture. The president is not walking that dog. Bo is walking the president! Get it right CNN.
I heard Obama spends all day on Second Life. His character is exactly like his real life personality, because he's already perfect.
I know this photo will anger many and people will say it is not news. Please remember that CNN has literally hundreds of links so anyone who needs a daily dose of pestilence and destruction can find that on the site just as they found this ticker. Very cute and heartwarming photo. The Presidential family has always been one that is looked up to; luckily they make it easy to look up to them.
Beautiful!!!
Kudos to the White House for doing such an unprecedented release of comprehensive release of photography on the Internet.
However, I don't see why they are using Flickr, a commercial private service, instead of their own government webservers. That is a dangerous trend.
Also, why is the White House claiming copyright of their photos and "licensing" them under a Creative Commons license requiring attribution? Surely they are aware that works of the federal government are in the public domain under Title 17, Chapter 1, Section 105 of the US Code!
send in Cesar Milan or Victoria Stillwell-
the POTUS & FAMILY need help with the dog
I think Bo has decided which human he likes best.
I really like that we've got a president who sees the job as a responsibility, not as a way to get him and his friends money like the previous administration. These pictures show us a regular guy doing his job.
That's been a long time coming.
President walking the dog picture... Wow that's what I was afraid of, look who's leading
Certainly, the GOP will have something ugly to say about all of the photos! You Bectcha!
I don't see any "puppy pads"–who cleans up the piddles?
I hope the Obamas can learn to control their puppy. Bo really seems to be the one in the driver's seat. I imagine watching a season of the Dog Whisperer would help them out a bit.
