Obama pokes fun at swearing in mishap

(CNN) - President Obama Friday couldn't help but poke fun at the now-famous trip up during his inaugural swearing in ceremony last January.

In a public ceremony to swear in Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, the president noted his administration likes to swear in officials more than once.

"They were actually sworn in before today, but around here we like to make sure we get it right. I had to do it twice and so now we make everybody do it twice," the president joked.

That's right, keep fawning over the least qualified president ever to sit in the oval office as he stomps around the world, bowing to royals and shaking hands with mass murderers.

But seriously, it's great to have someone in office who's driven completely by public opinion poles, and I bet the third autobiography that he writes will be stunning. I'm sure it'll put a good face on the whole debacle, and give us some good rhetoric to explain to our kids and grand kids how this egomaniac ever got into power in the first place.

You'd have thought the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court would have practiced enough to get his words right. But no, he had to embarrass himself and screw up the ceremony. He should have been demoted on the spot. Yes it's just a formality, but it demonstrates utter negligence and incompetence.

Good for Obama. I didn't vote for him and don't agree with a lot of his policies but I'll give him great marks for style. His self-confident "cool" style is certainly a positive for our country.

Whenever the Divine name is invoked it can also be a prayer,(we cannot have too much) so, we join our prayers with those of the President and his cabinet, that divine providence will support and guide through all the storms present and yet to come.

Ok, so when Joe Biden made asimilar joke Obama tapped him on the shoulder, which I thought was a little condisending, as if to say no no Joe dont go there, move on. NOW he makes a joke about it and its ok?? I love Obama and I support him 100%, but I dont like this habit he has of throwing Joe under the bus, he did it again with the White House position on Joes answer about not taking trains or planes if you can avoid it. Joe was 100% correct, he made NO gaff, and Obama should have defended him on it. I am not liking this side of Obama....

To you all, who don't like him – for whatever reason; the color of his skin, his political views – whatever the case might be. He is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA – whether you like it or not, and there is nothing you can do about it right now. Rant and Rave all you want, because he isn't hearing you, and if he did, he eouldn't care – the rest of us don't either. When you have something positive to say, you will all be different people. We look forward t hearing from you again soon; you're so predictable.

All you nay sayers need to get a life! After 8 years of Bush/Cheney gloom an doom everytime they opened their mouths it's a nice refreshing change to have somebody in the WH who is more like "us" than "them":)

kim in arizona–have you not noticed? Obama throws every one under the bus who is more in the spotlight than him! Ever heard the word Narcissist? That's why he threw Biden under–he gets more attention than Obama.

This was funny. When the R party is gone, there will be a true Liberal party put in its place. It will be Pelosi vs Obama in the next election.
