(CNN) - Joe Biden didn't heed his own advice.
On Friday, just one day after he warned his family to avoid "confined places" like subways and aircrafts, the vice president took the train from Washington, DC to Wilmington, Delaware. Now he plans to ride the train back to the District Monday evening.
Biden, a long-time Amtrak supporter and veteran rider, attended the kickoff of a $32 million renovation and restoration of Wilmington train station in Delaware Monday morning, telling onlookers, "The people who work at the Wilmington train station, the conductors, the ticket collectors - they are a part of my family. And, for our family, this station is home."
"I am so proud to see Recovery Act funds taking care of critical needs here at the station and putting people to work," the vice president told the crowd.
During his long tenure in the US Senate, Biden was a daily train commuter, traveling to and from his home in Delaware to Washington.

Interesting. When this story was on FoxNews.com they were accused of making a mountain out of a molehill on their message boards. I wonder if there will be any similar comments here.
That is why I hate politicians. There are all bunch of self ego oriented people. They say something in public and do something else in private.
So what? Biden's advice was appropriate – use caution, don't travel unless you have to and avoid confined spaces if possible. Well, that doesn't sound like bad advice under the circumstances. Biden did not advocate shutting down airports, train terminals, bus lines, or highways!
The media really goes overboard trying to create a sensational story where there isn't one. Biden's advice was common sense but, guess what, he still needed to get home. That is in keeping with his advice – caution – not panic! End of story.

whew! I was getting worried for a minute that Biden might start taking a gas-guzzling motorcade to work. I'm glad he's still open to riding in confined spaces.
The Media LOVES to play "gotcha", and never know when to quit riding a "dead horse"! Biden's coments are now history! Let us ALL move on!!

I don't see a problem with what Biden said. The truth is corporate money has made us sick physically and financially and NOBODY wants the public to know their dirty little secrets.
Finally, we have a White House and a President that cares for the people and not just a puppet for the money.

He is not worried, he will be at the top of the list to get Tamiflu and the vaccine when it is developed, unlike medical personel, police, fire personnel, military, and utility personel who have to be at work to keep things running and safe in Ameirca.
