(CNN) - American Morning's Alina Cho reports on the Obama administration's decision to classify photos taken during a recent, controversial photo-op over lower Manhattan.

And yet they release the material on Guantonamo interrogations, is this a hypocritical bunch or what. Can you imagine the libs jumping all over Bush if this happened on his watch, but then he did not have the arrogance of the Chicago thugocracy.
A real conspiracy theorist would be wondering what this kerfluffle is intended to distract attention from. You guys need some more practice at being out of power.
Odd that Obama thinks nothing of releasing CIA secret photographs and memos but balks at letting us the taxpaying Americans see a photo of his niffty ride zipping alone the NYC skyline. The dems sure pick a real winner here.
I voted for President Obama and I support him without reservation. BUT he made a bad call on this and he should release the photos. Not because the photos mean anything but because his promise of a transparent government does.
Do the right thing Mr. President and we will watch your back.
I'm glad he is not releasing these photos...it serves no purpose...
Your forgetting the people who wittnessed this recent incident are the ones who suffered from the 'real' incident....there is so much trauma for those affected...it's a compassionate move not to release them.
On the plus side, for the military -the photos are valuable...and for the citizens to be hyper sensentive to a plane's presence is actually a benifit for the safety of the city. There is a much different take on this for those who live in New York.....
O'Fraud. Always be scared of good speakers who come into power. Morons become drones. Obama is such a fraud and disappointment. He is a liar about every issue! He is a power hungry Chicago style politician. Mr. President, this isn't a reality show, it's a presidency...GROW UP/
I thought the flight was stupid in the first place, but a typical beginners mistake. The cost issue is just silly. The current coverup, typical Democratic crap. It's always the coverup that worse the the original mistake. Someone will file a FOIA request and get these photos released anyway. They can't be stopped, as how can any sane person claim national security is at stake? Then again, we're talking Democrats. Democrat and sane are mutually exclusive terms.
But, it's just fine to put the Gitmo detainees photos out there.
Besides, this little fly over cost the taxpayers $328,000. As a taxpayer I want to see what I help pay for.
Instead of sitting on the sidelines, how about all of you whiners get out and do something constructive. Join a think-group, volunteer at a local nursing home or school. E-mail your congressional representative with your complaints. In other words, become adults by acting like adults. Perhaps people would then take your opinions more seriously. Who knows one of you might even come up with a solution that actually works.
If they will "classify" this, they will certainly classify relevant issues about which we will never know. Our transparent government is giving your tax dollars to their fat, rich friends and while lying to us about it.
I'm a Dem and I voted for Obama. I thought the days of secrecy and coverup were behind us. Everyone already saw the video and photos so why classify it now? What happened to "transparancy"?
By the way, the person who authorized this should have been fired!
He can't release the photos, I don't believe there are any photos. Something wrong with this entire story. We'll never know, just another cover up by the BHO Adm.
He is classifying them because he is in them.
We've already seen the planes... What more do you need to complain about?
Yet, he sells out his CIA and puts our secrets out there for all to see. The CIA that risks their lives every day to keep us safe.
Releasing the CIA files is treason. I wonder if the next president will have the guts to call Obama to the carpet on this?
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man.. Eventually the topic got around to Obama.
The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle".
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.
The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with'.
This will be the most open and transparent White House in history...nah, we were just kidding...or lieing.
Was the crew waterboarding someone at the time?
Was Biden applying for entry into the "1/2 mile high" club?
Hey, where was Rahm during all this? At the controls, I bet!
Wow, what an incredibly stupid way to try to hush and indefensibly naive action.
Another in an ever growing list of screw-ups, foul-ups, and mess-ups this administration is doing. Not even 125 days into his one and only term and he's shaping to go down as quite possibly the worst president ever. But hey, gotta love that teleprompter!
I think the problem here is the blatant abuse of power, not that the pictures were taken in the first place or tax payer money used. How can this possibly be justified as classifiable? If you extend the rational used to classify these pictures, you can then move to more or less running the government behind a classified stamp.
shows the competence level of the current administration....all should be impeached/fired, starting with the messiah...
I mean if Rush Limbaugh can keep track of his plane, why can't the president?
This is what you get when an amateur community organizer gets elected as president.
A lot of dopes on here comparing the cost of the fly over to the Iraq war, or the content to the Gitmo photos.
The issue here is misuse of classification and/or using classification to invoke something akin to 'executive privilege'.
The greater matter is how farcical this is.
To use classification on these photos tells me the whole White House staff need to read and/or review DoD direcitve 5200.
Who was flying the plane???????REV. WRIGHT
