I am a democrat too and a big Obama supporter, but I think this time he's gone too far. Expecting perfection from people is not realistic. People make mistakes and this one was not that dramatic.

WoW, ask and ye shall recieve!

I do believe that the government is monitoring our blogs. I think there is someone in the WH trolling through our posts to get an accurate estimation of public opinion...

You Rupugs are pathetic. All you do is look for ways to criticize Obama. You have a pre-planned slam for every situation. If the guy resigns, you're ready with an insult. If he hadn't, you're ready with a different insult. Stop the pathetic hating and put some of that energy into accepting the hands reaching across the aisle to you and do something to HELP our country!

This was done without Obama's consent and knowledge, Obama was as suprised and disgusted by it as anyone, and the person who was responsible has quit and Obama accepted the resignation. Yet you make this into being Obama's fault. Pathetic! Crawl back into your hole and watch Limbaugh. Or better yet, all of you should get together in one state and secede. Our great nation will be better without you.

To " Some republican guy": the one so called president that should have been impeached was Georges W Bush. Haven't you gotten it yet, Republicans? When will it occur to you that all that we and the world is going through is grandly because of his stupidity? After the 8 years of pure catastrophic decisions, the word impeach should become synonymous with Republican presidents and vices...

    @Dionne Makila May 8th, 2009 4:37 pm ET

This is stupid. People in the Bush White House waged war without reason, ran up the deficit and condoned torture and he is resigning over this??

And the Democrats signed off on every action you are talking about, until it was politically inconvenient for them. Do you liberals have short memories? Can't have it both ways. By your logic, there are numerous Democrats that need to resign as well.

wow my friend .. your standards are super high.

So a president that did the whole '"mission accomplished" photo shoot while the WAR is still going on is not to consider being impeach? ... or when FAMA screw the WHOLE state of Missippi and all Pres. George W. Bush said was 'Heckuva job, Brownie!'

I cannot understand the uproar over a plane flying low and taking pictures. Get a grip. If the plane was aiming for a building it would have gone to that destination. That official should have stayed on the job and ignored the situation. Obama had to know because they wouldn't have taken photo's if he didn't know and they had to fly low to get a good photo.

For me this picture represents US, the american people,& the most powerful person on this planet, the President. For it to be used for a 2 bit photo ride was totally irresponsible!

At least with this administration we have officials who back up statements like "I take full responsibility".

How many times did we hear officials in the Bush administration say that......and do nothing.

Personally, I think this fly-over was no big deal, but I honour his decision to actually "take full responsibility"

Accountability and responsibilty. That is change we can believe in.

@ Is It 2013 Yet?, who said NONE of you bleating Obama sheep can rightfully say that if this were done during W's reign, you would not be hammering the stupidity of it, and guess what sheep, RIGHTFULLY SO."

It did happen on Bush's watch...on 9/11/01...with decidedly worse results.

I voted for Obama. I support Obama but his lack of support for Latinos makes me question my decision. Maybe a moderate Republican (if I can find one) is a better choice next time...

"The picture isn't even that good. We spent $300k for that? thanks, Obama."

It's the going price when an Administration updates AF1 photos.

We spent 300,000,000,000 destroying infrastructure and making 4 million innocents flee their home country in order to survive....Thanks Bush.

Hmmmm...Of a scale....where would this one lean again?

Wow.... I like change but I don't if I can handle this much change.... we just got done with 8 years of an administration that mascaraed our country and it's values and committed more mistakes than the number of hours in day and no one ever quit.... this was an utterly stupid mistake but still..... quit...

That's the best photo they got from all of that? Even a Photoshop would have produced something of better quality.

Is the no Photoshop policy so strict they couldn't even fix the white balance (the photo has an obvious yellowish tint)?

They choose the wrong chase plane too, as you can see part of the cockpit (bottom right) and canopy (light reflection, top right). Also the colors are somewhat dull too, possibly because a slightly tinted canopy.

It wasn't even a mistake. How can you take a good photo up high. Obama should not have accept his resignation because they weren't terrorists trying to go thru a building again. The public needs to get a grip and stop whining all the time. Planes use to fly lower than that one on the way to O'Hare airport. And who could stop the plane if it was aiming for a building. The best thing would be to run for cover somewhere instead of looking at it.

Kind of a shame, really. It IS a fantastic photo! Now if we can get all the whining Republicans to resign, Washington will get some work done. At least this guy was doing something, even if wrong. The Washington Republicans don't even work...just whine whine whine
